Well...not a lot unless it actually has something to offer, I mean sure, good job, you conquered something, but unless it's useful, not much of a reward. If you took over as governor and made its population boom and become a recruiting ground, or enslaved the population and made ti a major source of iron or gold or something, then yes, a great reward.

The population boom is easy considering Britain's weather.

it is hard growing a lot of food in rainy weather.

and there is NO way that chinese would know latin, or a Roman would know Chinese! they've never been in direct contact before, and its been a little over a month since the war began. So the whole thing with Romana going to china(almost instantly I might add) would never have happened logically.

Whuuuuuuut. Wouldn't it be possible that some of the Chinese (i.e. my character) would know Latin due to being a robber along the Silk Road?
wat.

Romana drank the tea naked in front of the servats while the door was open.

When she was alone with Chinese man she suddenly felt shame.

Okay...

Hey there. Will be back to posting tomorrow.
If I've time, I might try RPing the defenders near Germania...then again, I also want to create my Parthian chars, so don't wait for me!

And um, the last few posts seem to be getting quite crazy. :|
It's very faintly believable that the emperor's fiance would suddenly pop off to China without armed escort and check in at a shady inn. Likewise for a Chinese assassin arriving in the Roman Emperor's quarters.
The insta-teleportation, however, is another thing.

and with the Chinese assassin business. Can I remind you all that neither side knows the geography of the other power. they only have extremely vague knowledge that basically amounts to: "they are over in that general direction there somewhere" the chance that an assassin would find Rome is SLIM to NONE. This is supposed to be realistic. That is why it is taking so long comparatively for me, Emilio, Mort, and others to do things, While everyone else seems to think things can happen as quickly as they do now. This war is not going to end in a few days, months or years, it will take decades if it happened irl. neither side knows much about the other, and should be reluctant to attack until they learn more. That alone is dangerous.

and remember this is Roman tech we are dealing with. It takes months to cross the Empire. and I doubt the Emperor would let his future wife stray to far from Rome.

and with the language thing. Neither side understands the other. This time is the first they ever directly interacted(at least according to the historical records we have) and before they traded through the Parthinians. No Roman or Chinese Merchants ever met. The only traded with Parthinians.

/rant

(sorry for the rant I was just a little mad that this rp, which is supposed to be realistic is departing so much from what would be logical.

Read the in character thread. its on the last page. its one of the most unrealistic posts in the rp so far.
But with your stuff... it would never have happened. The chinese only had contact with Kushan historically. they didn't even know about Parthia, and barely knew about Rome.
So IMHO, your little thing with the emperor's wife doesn't make any sense....... mainly because who would be stupid enough to go into enemy territory while being so important?

Its ok, I've also had quite a bit of experience in the past before I joined NS, so I know rping quite a bit. We could just pretend it never happened.....

maybe the OP should have a "Current Storylines" tab, to tell briefly whats going on with all the groups that are forming. Like the Germanic Horde story, updates whats been going on in the front.

Ooooookay
1. No Chinese know Latin and not Latin know Chinese. None. There is a slim possibility of a Parthian knowing both Latin and Chinese, btu quite slim. Most communicatiosn would be Latin-Parthian, Parthian-Chinese, needing two translators. I will make Chinese-Parthian-Latin translators more common though since the war.
2. Both sides know little about each other. The Romans know the Chinese is where silk comes from, the Chinese know the Romans as the anti-China at the other end of the world. That;s about it excpet knowledge agined in battle.
