I have just read Portugal's post, and while I suppose it is fine to have your ships reach Portugal in one month, remember, one month, as far as I am aware, was more of a minimum then a maximum. It could take much longer, like several months longer, especially in Hurricane season and winter in the north. So try not to have all your voyages be as quick as possible, it is bad.

Also, do remember that a lot of people died in between ships coming to and fro settlements of encampments.

This does raise an interesting question though. When shall Europe discover the route to India. IRL it happens in 1497 or something, when Da Gama makes it around. If not 97, then 98 or 99.

I mean, my nation is a trade Empire, but interconnectivity isn't really a thing yet. I could reasonably know about India, though I imagine that trade there is still a long and uncertain journey, so it would be minimal. If you prefer I do not know, I would certainly know about South Africa, so I would be around the cape, just not to India.

Nien, if you mean America as in, America, like the country. The only white people we've allowed to be involved in nations in the America's are the nords in Canada, though they have been there long enough not to be obviously Nordic, IIRC.

As for a route to India the bottom of Africa was discovered in something like 1988, and I know Babylon in the past in this would have been exploring the East African coast for quite a while but European knowledge of that of course wouldn't be floating around

At any rate, I'm going to be actively pursuing contact with the Swahili city states anyway, so if it was preferred that I don't know about an Indian trade route, that is fine.

You realize nobody from Europe had even gone around Africa until 1497 in RL. If we are still just discovering the new world, I see no reason to have Europe know about this route. Besides, you would know about India like people know about the America's.
