Hopefully a map of my current claims. It is a large area, but I figured that sending many scouts out with letters and flags might be enough.

Either way then he'd be offering 10 percent of something he would have very little of by this point then, not to mention thinking his colonists could survive on it and nothing else

My colonists don't survive on it. They make trades with Madeira and Azores with who they trade both meat and wheat mainly.

If you mean Rome the city, that's Romagnese territory. There is an NPC Roman Republic in southern Italy. Peaceful place. I heard they've got nice parks.

Christianity has been in Europe for over 1200 years. There is one (?) Roman Pagan nation still in the RP, but it isn't many. You may have a bit of trouble finding allies if you stay Roman Pagan.
