You cannot advance to European levels if that is what you mean. Native American nations got to start well into an ongoing iron age, so you could bump yourself up to the same. Assuming native Australians aren't there already, I really don't know much about them.

Also, I don't see how any significant amount of Europeans would know where Australia is, or get there.

Tbh, now that I'm thinking about, you'd probably need some pretty good relations with someone to buy land from them, especially in their home territory.

The year is 1492 or early 1493. Make an app first and a lot of us here can help you with it, tis easier that way, I say.

You mean a canal that transverses quite a long way, through desert, to connect two seas that have an elevation difference of I believe 9 meters? In the 16th century? For actual travel? Sure, the ancient Egyptians had a canal from the Nile to the Red Sea, but it was not very wide, fairly shallow, and was extraordinarily impractical for any shipping needs. Since I assume that is the whole reason one would do it, it is simply impractical and unrealistic to create a Suez Canal for any kind of shipping, particularly in the 16th century...

The construction of canals isn't impossible at the time, especially if he went for a Canal of the Pharaohs type thing. Wouldn't be to wide or deep, but still. Though the land choice at Sinai is impractical, it is in the core of Egypt.
