We've been studying other galactic civilizations for some time now and and when presented with an opportunity like this, we couldn't pass it up." There was a tense silence in the room as the emperor continued. However, the Proconsul noticed that the guards could hear every word.

'I very much admire your empire, Proconsul. Our peoples are very alike in many ways. These Klingons though, savages. Barbarians. And while you may have heard rumors about Terrans, I assure you they are stereotypes of a time long gone. Any self-respecting Terran would kill me on sight for saying this, but, we are not much different than our Human cousins in the other quadrants." The emperor then looked to his guards standing behind him.

"Beautiful, aren't they? Don't worry, they're quite harmless. It's a Terran tradition to have the captain of a ship select a woman for the duration of his service. Being the emperor, there are perks." He smiled.
"Not much of an intellectual challenge, I'm afraid. They're thoroughly conditioned before service. They'll follow my every command. They would take their own lives if I commanded it. We learned our lesson after the Sato Usurpation. Keep your slaves... on the level, as it were." He snapped his fingers as one of the guards came to his side and kneeled. He grabbed her chin and shook it. The guard's head moved with the emperor's hand in a dull fashion. "They are bundles of fun."

"But down to business." He shooed away the guard who went back to the edge of the room.

"I seek an alliance. The Klingons are no match for both of us. With hammer and anvil tactics we can crush them in a single blow. The only real problem would be dividing the loot." The emperor chuckled once more. "There are a great many things our peoples can learn from one another. You could be the first alien to set foot on Terra since we achieved spaceflight. The benefits are quite worth it, if you ask me." He snapped his fingers twice and two of the guards came to him.

"Tell you what, you are a busy man. I know, I was once in your shoes. The stress of appeasing your superiors, the tension of disciplining your juniors, never a moment to yourself. It is a hard life." He leaned in to the Proconsul. "Why don't I leave two of my guards here? Just for you. I'll retire to my ship for the night. In the morning, I can give you a tour of it while we further discussions." He turned to the two attentive guards.
