Kingdoms and Colonies - Age of Destruction

An Official "Imperium of Nations" Roleplay under vote in the Imperium

For the past decade war had raged. Midonia and Francia had fought against the CIS and LIN for nearly 5 years, with a teaty finally being signed to end the conflict. A series of campaigns in the Zulu Empire had bought cheap land for Anhk-Durnik and Japan, but had forced the native peoples out of the land, eventually driving them to the Uganbda Republic in the central southern area of the Continent. Ayra had fought nearly to extinction to reclaim lost land, showing no humanity or mercy to the enemy. The Treaty of Marsailles in 884 had finally ended the conflicts in Europe, recreating the Anhk-Franco-Espania-Sicillian borders and expelling the Chinese from the Continent. Fortograd had been at the neck of Dambria for years as it built up a considerable force to take down the backwards realm in name of the dead Tsarvitch. Espaniata agreed after a number of long talks to dissolve most of the Empire, it now stands as the bank of the world still rolling in the gold recieved from the LIN nations for the Imperial Lands. Just a few months after the famous "Mexico City Incident" a very frail Emperor James V of Australia abdicated from his throne and gave it to his grandson, Maximillian, who is also the younger brother of Czar Theoden I. James died 4 years later in his Villa in Anhk-Durnik. Negotiations on "the order" between Theoden and Masaru had been kept hushed up and it had been decided in complete confidentiality that a conference between the gentlemen and a number of "experts" was to take place on the falkland islands very soon. The following decades of history will define the world and even humanity forever.

1 January, 1895. Aryan-Japan Border.

His Imperial Majesty, Raj Krishna IV, Emperor of the Imperial States of Arya, Khan of Khans, King of Kings walked through the Trenches that were the the homes of his soldiers for over 15 years. The Eastern Front against the Japanese was a hard fought Theatre of blood, gore, defense, and offense. For 15 years his nation was in a state of perpetual war, first against the Japanese, then against the Francians. The Western Front had long ceased to be of importance with the reconquest of the lands he wanted and the need to fight solely against Japan.

As the young Raj walked, his men cheered him. Thankfully, this part of the Trenches was under no immediate threat to the young Krishna, but that mattered little to him. He had fought personally against the Francians. However, the toll of the war affected him and his nation. He knew the carnage had to stop, somehow.

Somewere in Durnovaria

The most powerful men in the Empire now sat around a table, waiting. Infact they had been waiting for nearly an hour. Less than 2 hours ago they had all been in bed, tired from a regular day in their busy lives. But now they were in a shady room, under watch of several guards, being told only,

"He'll be with you shortly"

The unspoken question on the mens lips was, who is he? The men were growing quite frightened, not recognising the guards plain black uniforms and the rather intimidating symbol on everything. Count Charles Volska, Director of Intelligence, also seemed in the dark about the whole affair from the confussed and frightened expression on his pale face. However Lord Henry Drole, the new Grand Visier controversially placed in by the Czar himself, had maintained a beaming smile throughout the entire ordeal. Another hour passed, and another. The men were growing restless and beginning to rumble when through the rooms only doors came their mysterious host..... it was none other than Czar Theoden I himself.

East Africa Company HQ, Durnovaria

A new CEO had entered office under direct orders of the Czar. Sir Vincent Shandler was a charismatic yet ruthless businessman. He had served the Company for nearly 40 years now, since the age of 13 and had constantly been storming higher and higher through its complex system. His first decission as the autocratic CEO was to send a telegram to all nations concerning a rather interesting proposition,

MESSAGE TO ALL NATIONS

After an in-depths survey of the efficiency of the current trading systems within your country we have found your not opperating anywere near maximum efficiency. As a well established and global trading company we wish to offer you the oppertunity to hand over all trade to us. We would simply purchase your trade directly from your seperate Ministries. We would take all trade from the docks and trade at our own will. This would maximise your profits eliminating the need to deliver any stock.

Astrakhan, Tsardom of Fortograd

1895

Tsar and Autocrat Cyril I Uble-Hublevitch-Rovachov had aged drastically over the past twelve years however he was ever determined and his spirit youthful as ever even at sixty-four years of age. Inside the gilded Golden House Palace of Astrakhan he sat going over the latest reports from his vast empire and beyond all so that he might find ways to expand that empire and ensures its power in the world remained unsurpassed. Cyril was now going over the colonial statistics, the new cotton industry in Patagonia was growing and ever producing new revenue thanks to the massive irrigation project he'd ordered so e three years ago. As well the local infrastructure was thriving thanks to the massive gold mining operations that continued to reap great rewards for the imperial treasury and hence buildup the Imperial military he smiled devilishly. As well the recent acquisitions in Africa and Louisiana seemed to be making head way, already in Louisiana plans for an expedition to take the unoccupied lands along the Mississippi River were moving along as well the port of New Orleans was being used as a major headquarters for the imperial army and navy to ensure the protection of the Tsardoms latest ally the Confederacy of Independent States from its enemies namely the Republic of Medonia and Empire of Mexico. Indeed those two were like carrion circling the Americas waiting to swoop down on LIN and her allies. However the Tsar held hopes that with a greater LIN presence in the Americas that would no longer be the case anymore.

"Your majesty more reports have arrived." The voice of the Tsars latest aide Major Baron Frederich Von Hohenberg-Dragovitch interrupted his thoughts. Looking up from his desk and the mountains of paperwork still in need of review the Tsar saw the young moustached and uniformed Major standing in the door in his hands the latest in the ever growing mountain of paperwork. "Bring it in Major." The Tsar demanded taking off his spectacles to relax his tired eyes a moment. The Major then plopped the paper with a mighty thud, however rather then leave he paused a moment "Your majesty would it not be easier to leave such work in the hands of the Prime Minister or the Tsarevitch at least, after all they-" the Tsar then swiftly refocused his gaze on the Major and rose his hand to cut him off "Major I can assure you despite my age that I am more then capable of dealing with this paperwork. Besides it's something to do and I prefer to keep busy on top of that fact I prefer to oversee every affair that the nation is undergoing to ensure it is in the best interest of my people and their well being. Now you are dismissed Major." The Tsars voice went steely. Hohenberg paused a moment and then bowed "Yes your majesty." He replied and swiftly exited the Imperial study leaving the Tsar to deal with the affairs of state.

As the Major left the Tsar stared at the now closed oak door for a moment then looking at the pile he viciously grabbed the reports marked in bloody red: DAMBIRA. Indeed he was ever eager to exact revenge on those Siberian peasants and bandits whom had dared murder his beloved son Tsarevitch Alexius, bombed Yekaterinburg and also killed Count Yusupov the Viceroy of the Siberian Territories. Oh how the Empire had prepared though he grinned fiendishly, Nearly half a million veteran soldiers had been assigned to the newly built Alexius Line. As well the Tsardom had decided to cut of all ties to that nation and were ever pushing for trade embargoes on the floor of LIN's HQ in Malta via Fortograds ambassador, Sir Yuri Smensky former ambassador to Palermo, Madrid and Paris. At the same time the Tsars agents were searching out new allies to assist in his ultimate goal the annexation of Dambira and he knew that there were many all to eager to join his crusade, he smiled viciously revenge could wait a lifetime however it seemed a lifetime had come early.

New Orleans (St. Basilgrad), Fortogradian Louisiana Territories

Commodore Ivan Tokarev stood amazed by the progress of the latest dreadnoughts to be added to the Fortogradian Navy, indeed after the Medonian blockade of the CIS the Tsar had ordered an increase in the navies size and prowess in the Americas. As he watched the workers of the government subsidized Karimov & Sons shipbuilding company. "She's a bueaty eh suh?" A thick southern accept called from nearby, turning sharply the commodore found a smiling black man standing next to him "Indeed so my friend, indeed so," he smiled already picturing the dreadnought on the waves. "And you are?" The Commodore then reminded himself of manners the man paused a moment, "John Tills suh. I work here on the ships suh." He spoke seemingly unused to the Commodores kind tone. "Indeed you must be proud Mr. Tills after all you are doing a valuable service for the Tsardom of Fortograd." He smiled back however keeping his left eye focused on the warship. "Indeed I am suh. After all y'all helped win us our freedom here in Louisiana, suh." Tills went on turning now to look on the ship as an artist would his masterpiece. "What do you mean freedom Mr. Tills?" The Commodore asked intrigued by the mans words. Tills turned as if baffled by the Commodores question, "Suh before y'all came we were slaves heck I was a cotton picker myself. Then came 'long y'all and New Orleans became St. Basilgrad or whatever and we blacks were freed from bondage suh." The man then cast a glance up at the clock tower looming over the shipyard and his eyes widened, "Well best get back to work suh. Goodby suh." Tills then stated before rushing towards the shipyards. However Tokarev stood realizing how major the changes the Tsardom had brought before her arrival slavery had exsisted here to his bewilderment. Indeed a vile and archaic practice his head shook as he himself headed off towards the officers club along the military docks.

LIN HQ, Malta

Sir Yuri Smensky had been most honoured when the Tsar had personally chosen him to lead the Fortogradian delegation to the LIN headquarters at Malta. Smensky himself had one of the most distinguished careers in the Imperial service, three years as Consul to Ankara, two as ambassador to Paris, four years in Madrid and finally a year in Paris until the revolution came and he was forced to flee as the vile Republic took control and focused its rage on Ankh-Durnik and its allies. However he'd now been appointed the ambassador to LIN itself indeed he was the envy of the foreign department and he was determined to ensure the Tsardoms reach was felt even here on this little island in the middle of the Mediterranean amongst the delegates of LIN. Already he had been ordered to oversee putting yet another nail in the coffin of that criminal state Dambira. And oh he was ever pleased to do just that the new trade embargo proposal would effectively cut off that nation from many resources not to mention end its leaching off trade from the various LIN countries. He smiled soon enough he would see the flag of Fortograd planted on the smoking ruins of that nations capital and their King hanging in Moscow revenge was indeed a beautiful art and no one could outdo Fortograd at just that, revenge.

Tehran, Gregantine Sultanate
1st January, 1895

10.000 soldiers of Suleimans Legion stood still at the big square in front of the Palace of Suleiman I. As the great Sultan finally marched onto his balcony, they suddenly fell into silence. A big orchestra started to play the new anthem of the Sultanate. But this time there was a text. And all of those 10.000 elite soldiers started to sing it.

"For Glory, Allah and our Sultan,
We will stand strong above them all
We will fight them ‘til the world breaks
We will fight them ‘til the end
With help of al-Dschabbaar, our great Allah
The Sultan shall rule merciful"

Suleiman smiled and looked at his son, Crown Prince Capian as the voices began to mute again. "You hear this, my son? They praise me, they praise our great Sultanate. And one day you'll be the one standing in front of them." Capian nodded. "Yes, father." The soldiers continued their singing.

"Suleiman, the gracious and beloved
Protector of Islamic faith
Govern us with iron hand"

As they silenced again, Suleiman silently talked to his son again. "I hope your brother will never reign. The only thing he is good at his commanding my legion. Do you see him down there? He is jealous. He knows you will be the next Sultan." - "Yes, father."

"For Glory, Allah and our Sultan,
We will stand strong above them all
We will fight them ‘til the world breaks
We will fight them ‘til the end
With help of al-Dschabbaar, our great Allah
The Sultan shall rule merciful"

"If I may say so, father, this anthem is a masterpiece. It shall be the symbol of unity and pride of the Sultanate." Suleiman nodded. "Yes, Capian. Pride others want to destroy! But silence, now comes my favorite part."

"Oh Allah, the mighty and beloved
We will bow to your kind will
We will die if you desire

For Glory and mighty Allah
For Glory and our Sultan"

After the soldiers and the orchestra silenced, Suleiman and the Crown Prince waved at them to show their solidarity. "Now Capian, let's go inside", the Sultan said and both walked to the hall where a meeting had been prepared. Military, diplomatic and economic elites of the nation already awaited the two royals. Sultan Suleiman I started the meeting. "Good evening, Sirs. Now that you are here we may start, right? This year shall be one of success. Other nations are far more developed than we are. Buying their inventions would be too expensive, so I ask you to send spies and let them copy those inventions. Further we need to find new resources. I propose to send some exploration teams to our part of Alaska. Also send troops to protect them and this region. 12.000 for now. And last but not least we should strengthen our ties with Fortograd, the Mideonan Empire and perhaps even the Ming Song Shotan Dynasty, because we-" A servant came storming into the room. "Most gracious Sultan, we received message from Fortograd. You better read it yourself."

A few minutes later the Sultan started to speak again. "Very well. Send 48.000 soldiers more to Alaska, so 50.000 at total. Also prepare 4.800 soldiers of Suleimans Legion. And you..", he shouted and pointed at the servant. "Bring me a pen and ink. I need to reply immediately."

To: Tsardom of Fortograd
From: Gregantine Sultanate

Greetings most noble Tsar of Fortograd. We are willing indeed to form closer ties and think an internal alliance if one of the only ways to do so. Dambira is a thorn in our eyes too and we will help you without a doubt. At this moment, my servants send out word to the commanders of our glorious armies to prepare and send 50.000 soldiers to our part of Alaska. We will also send 4.800 elite soldiers of Suleimans Legion under command of my son, Prince Mehrzad, to your help on Eurasian mainland. Regarding the deals you proposed we will accept, but ask to get to know what we may expect in exchange. May Allah protect you.

In deepest respect
Signed,
Sultan Suleiman I of the Gregantine Sultanate

LIN HQ, Malta

The 1st permenant delegate to LIN for Anhk-Durnik was a man who had risen in the ranks from a meager Ambassador to Mexico to a figure known World Wide. His infamous murder of the previous mexican Emperor through nothing but intelligence had given him great fame amoung the world, further fame considering the government of Anhk-Durnik near on forced Mexico to build a statue of the man in the Mexican Capital, twice. Due to another famous event of the eventful evening, a terrorist attack, the gentlemen in question was put into a wheelchair. The Gentleman, of course, was Sir Arthur Boyd.

Beijing, Chinese Empire

The Datong Emperor quietly cleaned his spectacles as the Imperial Army marched passed him in review. Echoing from their instruments, the Beiyang March sounded clear as a bell. The Emperor pondered his country's situation. China was a Great Power, unparalleled in it's power by any Asian nation. He saluted them as they passed by, and ensured the stability of China.

Shanghai, China

General Hu Tu-q'ang quietly watched over the construction project's planning for a large marina in Shanghai, but there were other reasons -- The Chinese Empire's "Ming-Song" dynasty needed to be replaced soon. He met with one of the generals and walked down the street to the meeting hall where the Yangtze Generals were meeting to discuss new changes.

Indian Ocean. 1 January 1885

Three 1,000 ton and two 5,000 ton warships floated in the Indian Ocean, moving south. The flotilla flew the flag of Arya, and were part of the Raj's extensive military buildup since the onset of the war with Japan. Miraculously, the ships were able to sneak past the, thanks to a late typhoon. The ships were carrying important cargo; an army of 20,000 soldiers, close to 5,000 horses, 50 cannon, and supplies.

The Ships were finally in sight of their destination, a large island off the coast of Africa; Madagascar. After a few more hours, the ships fired shells at the port of Mahajanga, signalling the arrival of Imperial troops. After over an hour of bombardment, the first landing force invaded and easily took the port, evacuated as the citizens fled the warships' attack.

Sydney, Australia
Maximillian walked through his private garden and wondered if the Indians had gone insane they had annexed Madagascar a region they could not hope to hold. It also happened that the Indians were at war with Japan so now would be a good time to help Japan.
"Sir,"a butler says,"the East Africa Trading Company would like to restructure our trading plans."
"Well we will restructure won't we,"Maximillian says.
Pacific Ocean
7 Dreadnought class cruisers and 5, 6 ton battleships were on their way to Madagascar to demand a surrender. These will if necessary sink the Aryan ships and send an envoy to announce that the JAL will take control until a new government can be put in place
Ularu, Australia
The first national park in Australia had been established 10 square miles around Ularu it was open to anyone and everyone free of cost and it could become a popular tourist spot.
To the Aryan Empire:
We see your annexation of Madagascar as an unnecessary aggression against a peaceful, civilized nation and demand that you turn Madagascar over to the JAL for the reinstitution of their government. If you will not do this I will declare war on you and invade. An ambassador will arrive at your Capital city to negotiate a trade over of the land.
From Emperor Maximillian I of Australia

To Sir Vincent CEO of the East African Trading Company:
We would like to restructure our trade deals with you to include your new efficiency plans.

Secret Location, Durnovaria

The me gasped as the Czar walked into the cold basic chamber. He wore a perfectly fitting white uniform, identical to the guards in all ways apart from gold stripes on the shoulders, and ofcourse the colour. He wore no crown upon his head. This very strange uniform truely projected the Czars power to all in the room. He spoke strongly to the men,

"Gentlemen, you are the very lucky few to be truely enlightened, to take part in creating an Order that will shape the face of not only the Empire but the World and the minds of its inhabitants. I now give you the oppertunity to stay and be enlightened and take part in this wonderful operation or to simply leave...."

The Czar pointed towards an exit to the room that had been revealed as the lights slowly turned on. After a gap of a minute the Czar spoke again,

"Now..... stay or leave?"

3 of the 15 gentlemen rose from there seats and addressed the Czar,

"I am truely sorry your Majesty but such an undertaking would displease my conscience. I am not at all interested in changing the world from where it stands."

The Czar gave a 'very well' look and meerly looked to the door. The men awkwardly left. Little did they know that behind the door lay a 370 foot abandoned mineshaft in which they would plummet to their deaths. They did so with great ignorance.

"Now men, we may get down to business. But to get down to business first we must recover from such an ordeal, and what way better to recover than a trip to the Beautiful Falklands colonies!"

This indeed was a strange suggestion, the Falkland colonies being a well known prison labour camp, home to nearly 20% of the Empires convicts.

"Well gentlemen, i suggest you pack your bags, as we are going tonight!"

The Czar turned on his heals and left the room. The Czar was incorrect on the matter of packing bags or unwinding, as they were immidietly blindfolded and taken onto what seemed to be an Airship. An airship bound for the Falklands it seemed.

2 January, 1895. Aryan-Japan Border. Raj's Headquarters

Raj Krishna sat in the lotus position as the Minister entered the building serving as his HQ. Krishna was know to sit for hours on end, meditating and focusing on the now. Hesitant as always, the Ministers waited another hour before their Lord before he spoke to them, not in Hindi, but in French.

"What news concerns me?"

"Your Imperial Majesty, our annexation of Madagascar has been confirmed by the successful advance of General Akbar's forces on their Capital early this morning. However, we have received a telegram from the Australians, threatening to invade unless we relinquish Madagascar."

Krishna thought for a minute, or at least to him it was a minute. To the Ministers, and hour had passed before judgement was passed.

"Bring the Anhk-Durnik Ambassador to me, immediately."

LIN HQ, Malta
1895

Omid al-Dīwān arrived in Malta with a serious look on his face. He was one of the highest governmental workers of the Ministry of the Sea, or Foreign Ministry as others may say. Sultan Suleiman I talked to him personally before Omid left. His mission was clear: Establish the Gregantine Sultanate as a leading nation in World Politics. As he entered the room he simply nodded and sat down.

Port Babak, Gregantinean Alaska

In the late evening the first Gregantinean soldiers arrived at Port Babak, a Port named after the first name of Suleiman I. After being welcomed by several more or less important officers and a small part of the 6.472 already stationed defensive soldiers they marched to their shacks outside of the quite big port, whose only inhabitants were port workers, scientists and soldiers. Nobody really wanted to live there, in this cold, lonely area. However, around 45.000 soldiers still had to come to Port Babak, where they would continue their march to the border.

Aryan Naval Positions near Madagascar
"Sir the Aryans have not replied what shall we do?"Lt.Terno asked.
"Fire a warning shot above their vessels after coming over the loud speaker, warn them that they have 30 minutes, and demand surrender,"Comodore LaFonte after a few minutes of silence. LaFonte a Francian immigrant who moved to Australia with his family to escape the violence of war in Europe. He joined the army to get near automatic citizenship and quickly rose to the rank of Comodore of this small flotilla.
"Will do sir,"Lt. Terno said,"do you want more coffee?"
"No just get this done please,"LaFonte said.
To the Aryan Empire:
We are asking you again to relinquish Madagascar. If we do not get a response within thirty minutes we will have our flotilla fire warning shots at your positions. We hope you will be reasonable and we can soon end this conflict.

The Rajs Palace

The Anhk Ambassador ran into the throne room, clearly knowing the matter of his business was urgent. Recovering from lack of breath he asked simply,

"Your Majesty, may i ask why i have been brought before you at such short notice?"

Atlantic Ocean

The Great Airship Krypto soared above the mid-atlantic night sky. From its numerous port-holes a number of anxious and scared men looked, wondering what would happen to them next.....

Madagascar.

The Commander heard the shot ring out. He ordered an officer to meet with the Australians.

Raj's Headquarters

"Your Excellency, I am sorry to bring you here on such short notice, but a situation is arising. Today and yesterday, a small Aryan flotilla landed in Madagascar as per my instructions to annex the island, however, an Australian flotilla has also landed and demand we relinquish the island to them. If the Empire agrees to assist us in persuading the Australians from leaving, I will grant you a large section of the northern island."

February 5, 1895, Shreveport, Louisiana Territory

A throng of thousands gathered in the center of the city. Today had been in the making for roughly 15 years, and on this day it would made official. At the head of the crowd, a large wooden stage loomed. The air was filled with excited chatter, but a hush fell as a rather large man enters the stage and took a place behind a podium. No one was more excited than Territorial Governor Henry Buford as he prepared to address the masses.
"My fellow citizens..."-total silence now-"15 years ago while still subject to what was then the First Kingdom of Francia, our forefathers began work on an ambitious venture. Without the consent of the King; with nothing but blind faith we set out into these unclaimed lands. We built this city and another like it at Little Rock. And just a few years later as our country fought for its life we slowly expanded. We forged friendships with the Native peoples, we built new communities. We bent during the Uprising to Medonia, but were not broken. And today... " -pause for effect-"Today I give you the fruits of our labor" He held up a piece of paper for all to see. "I hold here in my own hands a resolution just passed by Congress. Our application for statehood, along with that of Arkansas, has been accepted!" The cheers that followed were so intense Buford could hardly hear himself think, and he had never felt so proud.

Richmond, Virginia

After signing and sending off the statehood resolutions, Secretary of State Thomas Moore sat in quiet reflection. Northern unclaimed Louisiana was now a state. But the truly valuable part wasn't Confederate yet. He began to type a set of telegrams.

To:The Tsardom of Fortograd

To our greatest of allies,

The Confederacy is interested in procuring Fortogradian Louisiana. We are prepared to offer 5.5 million dollars in gold and you shall retain rights to continue any military projects and to station troops.

To: Kingdom of Anhk-Durnik and the Sicilian Empire

To our allies:

The Confederacy is interested in procuring your portions of Louisiana. We look forward to negotiations!

Rajs Palace

The Ambassador clearly knew what was going to be asked, and was infact briefed via telegram by the Czar himself earlier that day. He cleared his throat and humbly told the great leader,

"Your Majesty, though this offer be tempting, we believe the relationship between ourselves and Australia is too important for us to siply act as though their word means nothing. Therefore i propose from the Port of Petrograd at the northern peak of the Island we shall advance uner 30 km into the islands interior as soon as the government falls, which i believe shall be within the next day or two. This is for 3 important reasons: One, we wish a larger foothaold on the islands economy. Two, we want more land for the people of the colony to work, unemployment in these small ports is the highest in all the Empire at 1 in every 10 working men. Three, we believe that their are a number of natural resources in the surrounding areas that the Empire would greatly benifit from gaining. We shall send a telegram to Australia telling we are displeased at the fall of a society but know life must go on and the people must be protected from Anarchy. I hope this answer is satisfactory for your Majesty?"

Falkland Islands

The great Airship crashed to the ground, causing much confusion from the inmates of the prisons currently out doing sport. A number of the inmates tending crops in the fields they worked were also highly dissaproving at the loud and polluting ship. The prisoners were treated fairly well at the state of the art prisons on the islands. For nearly 40 years no the Anhk Ministry of Justice had been using an occupational therapy technique. They had the slogan, "An occupied Prisoner is a Happy Prisoner". Indeed ths was true with the vast majority of them. The dozen men and the Emperor hastily walked to a building which seemed to any passing person to be a supplies shed for cropping equiptment. Inside it was what you would expect, apart from a rake which seemed to be standing on its head. A guard in the guise of a napping prisoner leapt into action emmidietly and pulled the rake down to the ground. As it went down several floorboards came up, revealing an elegant staircase into the unknown. They descende this mysterious staircase being met with a beautiful collumed series of rooms, all adorned with fine pieces of art from around the Empire. Finally they reached what seemed to be the main room. This room was fully encased in glass, fish swam on the outside without taking the slightest notice on those on the inside. This breathtaking room also has a number of greek statues circling the room and a huge plain marble table with matching chairs. Along with this the confused men also saw the same intimmidating symbol, the one they now assumed represented the order. They all sat down, and after a brief meal after the journey the Czar spoke,

"Gentlemen, you shall be my 12 deciples in the quest for absolute control over every aspect of the world. We shall all continue our normal lives, but twice every year i ask you to make a pillgrimage to this very place. This time in two years you shall be ready to have the entire network revealed to you, the sheer complexity of its magnificence shared with every one of you. Soon a veil of secrecy shall be cast over the world, we have the honoured opertunity of being that veil. Now please rest, explore, and enjoy this underground Utopia, only few men will ever set eyes on what you are to see tomorrow!"

Ceremony of coronation of Queen Margaret II was about to begin. She was sitting happily in her carriage and waving at the masses that shouted her name. Nederland was independent, again. After hundreds of years of foreign rule, Nederland was its' own. People were estatic and the Queen got into the Ebbner Abbey. Everything went silent as the orchestra started to play beautiful music filled with voices of a big choir. Then, the Archbishop of Nederland put the crown onto the new Queen's head and beautiful red hair. She swore to God to do a good job.
''I, Margaret II, promise to my people and the people of World, that I will make Nederland strong. I promise to fill each soul in this nation with pride, faith and happiness. I declare I will love God and act in his ways. May He save our nation.''

As the coronation ended and Queen left the Abbey, thrilled masses were applausing as she made her way to the Royal Palace. Queen was happy, but she knew she needed to sort the economy out. She declared Nederland to be a constitutional monarchy, with free elections to come. She also declared that the elections will be held in 4 weeks. But, the main thing that an average Nederlander was worried about was economy. It was basically in hands of a few wealthmen and years of foreign rule, especially the Francian one, have devastated the economy. Unemployment was very high, almost 30% and many people were living in poverty. Seeing that, Queen immideately slashed the budget that was meant to fund the Royal (her) office and transfered that money into building new homes for the poor ones.

She knew that good relations with neighbours were essential to a stable nation. She gathered her advisors and discussed with them the possibilities to trade. ''We could send a telegram to Anhk-Durnik and ask them to make an agreement to trade. But, we must, of course, do it after the elections and discuss it with the new Prime Minister'', said one of her advisors. Now, as weeks passed since her coronation, the elections were getting closer.

Raj's Headquarters

The Raj nodded,

"We humbly thank you, Your Excellency. This will be most pleasing to both us, and your noble Empire. In your next report to His Imperial Majesty the Czar, please extend our deepest gratitude, and an invitation to our Imperial City of Agra for a Summit. It is time that Arya becomes a more active member in the world."

The Ambassador gave a slight nod before placing his top hat back upon his head,

"With honour your Majesty"

And then he left.

Petrograd, Madagascar

The garrisoned force of 2,300 men were not going to be enough to keep back the flow of refugees from the next few weeks. A small fleet of vessels from Djibouti brought native Imperial Forces, numbering 25,000, to the city. They could not control the flow of 10 refugees a minute from the city limit so moved with great precission over the borders and placed a barricade. Tomorrow they would advance a further 15 miles to a river that was a perfect geographical fortificvation for keeping people at bay in the hostile occupation. The governor-general of the colony decided, under the Ministry of Foreign relations guidence, to send a letter to the Madagascan Royal Family offering them sanctuary in the city. It was sent and they would almost certainly accept. The invitation was NOT extended to the ruling government however.

Astrakhan

The Tsar sat in the glass enclosed imperial greenhouse of the palace indeed the room had been a present for his wife the Tsarina who's love of tropical and exotic things was very well known throughout the Tsardom. Indeed he'd ordered the finest plant specimens be gathered for the gardens from across the globe and the Imperial Fortogradian Botanical Society had done quite well indeed soon after they'd asked to open a larger version of the gardens except open to the public, the Tsar had willingly agreed indeed he loved to show off the grandeur of his prized capital and to make up for the recent disassembling of the Kremlin to gain the much needed Black Sea ports in Ukraine from Ankh-Durnik. His thoughts then turned back to his current task, lunch. Indeed the scenery was most appealing to drink in while he ate some exquisite dish his chefs had made. Today he was eating lamb souvlaki indeed a delectable dish he grinned as he then reached for his drink a glass of Sicilian wine indeed a pleasant addition to the meal. However just as he was about to finish a lemon potato he saw his son Tsarevitch Conrad and Prime Minister Konstantin Lushenkov enter the room. Quickly he wiped his mouth with the napkin placed next to his sterling silver cutlery and watched the two men take a swift bow before rising.

"What might I inquire my son is so Important that you would disturb my meal my son, Prime Minister." He then added noting the other man who stood slightly behind the Tsarevitch. Conrad then spoke "Please forgive the interruption father however our friends the Gregantines have replied to your offer. As well I wished to inform you of the hostilities between the Aryans and the Kingdom of Madagascar. Oh and this arrived from our old friends Ankh-Durnik. As well there are several more of interest to our long term goals. He went on handing the letters and reports to his father who's attention had perked up. The Tsar quickly took the letters and then noted the two men still standing, "Please sit." He motioned for them to join him and sit at the table. The two obliged and soon took their seats eagerly watching the Tsar for a response.

Upon finishing his review of the letters the Tsar was grinning ear to ear the Gregantines and their offer of troops to the ever imminent invasion of Dambira was music to his ears "My son inform the general staff of this new development. As well I want to make these Gregantines winterized lest we see them die in the snow." He added to which the Tsarevitch nodded "I take it my brother will be leading the invasion?" Conrad asked quizzically. Cyril paused a moment indeed the young Tsarevitch a General of the army could use more field experience, "You both shall go to Siberia. Make the damn Dambirans bleed for all their worth an exact vengeance for your brother." His thoughts then turned to the Confederate and Nordens letters indeed interesting.

"As well inform our ambassador in Richmond, Baron Orpchnik to meet with the Confederate President. I will prepare a lost of demands and they may finalize then thus selling our Louisianan territories to our esteemed Confederate allies." He went on as the Prime Minister shuffled uneasily in his chair a moment. The Tsar turned "Is there something you would like to add Lushenkov?" He then turned to face the PM who seemed a little annoyed at the idea of selling Louisiana. Lushenkov then spoke up "Indeed your majesty I would like to add something," he stated his blubbery neck wiggling as he spoke "Your highness the sale of Louisiana is unwise if we turn it over to the Confederates we loose a strategic port and trade centre from which we can terminate Medonias hopes for hegemony in the Caribbean. The loss of said territory would jeopardize that not to mention leave the Confederates at risk. And furthermore what of these new ultra-nationalists in parliament under that Baltic German what's his name?" He paused a moment thinking.

The Tsar turned to his son who then spoke up, "You mean Baron Ulrich Von Gortz-Semenov?" The young Tsarevitch inquired. "Yes that's the one!" The PM jumped on the name like a fox on a hen. "That Gortz he's a radical calls for the most outlandish policies!" He went on snorting like a hog. "What sort of policies?" The Tsar asked now curious. The PM obliged "He wants the rebuilding if the old empire before 1816. He's obsessed with recreating the backwards feudal based society your family steered us away from. The man calls for more then that though he's a radical anti-Semite and is rumoured the head of a resurgent Order of the Black Dragon!" He went on. On that note the Tsar was very interested "Gortz you say?" To which Lushekov nodded his fatty neck jiggling again. "Hmmm indeed most troublesome." The Tsar noted rising from his chair, "I was certain my mother had eradicated those lunatics with the purge." His head shook Lushenkov then rose as well "There's more he's got the support of the Cossack bands got them all riled up after all his mother was one of them and he's a high ranking officer in their ranks. And his supporters are all in the nobility especially the old houses by god that man has their backing 100%!" Lushenkov went on wild eyed.

"Thank you for the information Prime Minister. I shall have the Golden Guard keep an eye on Baron Von Gortz-Semenov and his gang. As well I can assure you I will ensure favourable terms from the Confederates. Now your both dismissed." The Tsar added without facing them. Moments later they'd left leaving the Tsar in the glass enclosed garden to think. Outside snow was falling and soon would blanket the already white city of Astrakhan. The Tsar though swiftly headed to his study not only to direct responses but to prepare for his departure to Norden. Indeed this proposal should be most interesting if he was personally invited to meet with the King.

Greetings most noble comrades and allies I am most pleased to hear of your acceptance of our proposal and that we shall be receiving troops to assist in the ever imminent invasion of Dambira. I can assure you that we will strike soon however I must first deal with other affairs and once I have dealt with them we shall strike like a mighty eagle on the vermin below. Furthermore we recommend you have your troops winterized to ensure they are most effective in the invasion of the frozen realm of Dambira. As well we suggest a meeting between your chief commander and our own perhaps in Fortogradian Turkestan? We await your reply nonetheless my good comrades in arms and may god protect you.

Sincerely,

Tsar and Autocrat Cyril I Uble-Hublevitch-Rovachov of Fortograd and her Dependencies, Defender of Christendom,Grand Prince of Moscow, Duke of Volagrad, King of the Chechens, Circassians, Cossacks, Khan of Astrakhan, Kazan, Turkestan, etc.

Greetings most noble defenders of the north, we have received your offer of a meeting and hence accept. As Tsar and Autocrat of Fortograd I can assure you that I shall arrive in New Albion soon and am most interested in what this proposal of yours pertains to. Indeed I sense ultimately it shall prove most adventurous to both our most noble of nations. We shall see you soon.

Sincerely,

Tsar and Autocrat Cyril I Uble-Hublevitch-Rovachov of Fortograd and her Dependencies, Defender of Christendom,Grand Prince of Moscow, Duke of Volgograd, King of the Chechens, Circassians, Cossacks, Khan of Astrakhan, Kazan, Turkestan, etc.

To: CIS
From: Tsardom of Fortograd

We are most intrigued by your proposal in regards to the sale of Fortogradian Louisiana to your respective nation. Now as you are well aware our nation has invested heavily in the territory that we were granted by the Treaty of Marseilles in 1884. Furthermore the territory is now a major military and commercial hub of the empire used to protect yourselves from the Medonians and to ensure the trade routes remain free of JAL domination. Hence alongside the 5.5 million dollars you've offered us for the territory in order to ensure that you and our own interests remain protected we propose the following:

1. Fortograd keep a permanent garrisoning New Orleans of 5,000 men and in the state of Louisiana 20 ,000 total to ensure that Medonia never can oppress the region.

2. Access to all Confederate ports for the Fortogradian navy and trading vessels year round for resupplying, etc.

3. Extensive trade rights for our merchants in the CIS to ensure optimum profits so as to make up for the loss of revenue received from Fortogradian Louisiana.

4. The establishment of Fortogradian state owned arms companies in the CIS to build weapons for the Tsardom of Fortograd exclusively.

5. Fortograd may keep the 5 new Dreadnoughts we are currently building in New Orleans military shipyards.

That is all. We eagerly await your reply on our proposals and hope that you will accept them, thank you.

Tehran, Gregantine Sultanate

To honor Prince Mehrzad and his soldiers he was allowed to lead a parade trough the city of Tehran. In a last-mintue action the Sultan ordered additional 3.200 Legion soldiers to follow the Prince to Fortograd, where they would continue their march to the border between Fortograd and Dambira. As Mehrzad and the 8.000 soldiers marched trough the streets the people cheered for them. It was a glorious goodbye the Prince left. He however assumed there was more than just a battle. Mehrzad knew his father wanted to get rid of him.
After they left the city a caravan of carriages full of uniforms, winter uniforms, ammunition, weapons, swords and catering followed them.

Port Babak, Gregantinean Alaska

The 50.000 troops were now ready to march towards the Dambiran border. They would have no option but leaving it almost undefended regarding the Fortogradian assault, so the small battles that would be fought in Alaska would be an easy win for the armies of the Sultanate. Most of the troops had already been made ready for the cold weather.

Greetings. We currently have two operating commanders, one for the assault on Dambiran Alaska and one, my noble son Prince Mehrzad, to help you out on Dambiran mainland. Prince Mehrzad just left Tehran and is on his way to Turkestan to meet you. With him are 8.000 soldiers of our elite army, Suleimans Legion. They are specialized on assaults and we recommend not to use them in defensive situations, except for city defense. He will arrive soon. May Allah protect you.

Signed,
Suleiman I
