In 1920 the Great war ended with Germany falling to Britain, France, and Russia and the state of Austria negotiating a cease fire. This in turn was enforced by the Treaty of Gibraltar which divided the captured Austrian territory among the victors, divided Germany into fractured states, and changed the map of the middle east forever. In 1921 the European economy imploded due to the loss of the markets because of the German rump states inability to pay back loans. This caused the World economy to collapse and recover by 1927. The European Federation was created as an attempt by the British, French, Italians, and Russians to hold their power over the new Europe they created and preserve the order. Meanwhile the middle east is divided between the rump state of turkey a festering remnant of the once great ottomans, the Levantine Republic a state carved out by the British for the Jews and Palestinians. Meanwhile a new monarchy has arisen over most of the ottoman territory in the form of the Transjordan Sultanate a fanatical caliphate seeking to replace the ottomans in glory. Meanwhile the Arabs and Persians combat for influence against an overbearing Russia. The Scandinavians in an attempt to protect themselves against Russian expansion united into the Scandinavian Union. Meanwhile in Asia Japan continues to expand it influence across the Asian sphere in a dream to create an universal Asian superpower while the Chinese have suffered the brutality of a civil war starting in 1921 after Russia began influencing Chinese Monarchist Forces in the North, restoring the Chinese monarchy in Beijing and launching china into war. China is now split into 4 nation between the Monarchist North and Monarchist South and the new players of the Chinese Confederation an aligned group of Chinese provinces unified against the Republics corruption and authoritarian tendencies and serve to promote electoral democracy while central china lays in the hands of a coalition of Chinese socialists and communists under the Chinese Socialist Republic meanwhile several members of the failed Russian revolution have begun to influence the new regime and now china lays in a cold war.
