"Of course you are. Nothing lasts forever, I'm living it up while it does. It won't matter though, someone's gonna still possess the same ideals and start it up again, if under a different name. The endless cycle of history." Cirillo said. "Yeah, whatever. I might consider your little errand." he finished.

Eva decided to stay up most of the night, finding it hard to sleep. She felt better with Cirillo outside her door, at least she would be safe the rest of the night. She picked up the bits of glass, rose petals and threw them into the wastebasket, along with the chocolates. How could have he followed her here ? Eva took extra precaution while planning this last minute trip, but it seemed no matter what, he would follow her. Eva excepted life in the spotlight to be fast paced, stressful, but not like this. Eva hoped meeting with Ethan and Cirillo's friend could put an end to all of her troubles.

Eva woke up the next morning, the sun warming the side of her face. She got up, combed her hair, applied a bit of make-up and ordered a full breakfast. She also dialed Ethan's and Cirillo's rooms, inviting them to her room for the breakfast she promised the night before. It was the least she could for them, at least for now. Eva slipped on her robe and a pair of heels and waited for the two men to show up.

As it had turned out, Cirillo had stayed very true to his word. He had only left Eva's door after sunrise around six thirty, and had gotten very little sleep. Ethan had to come to the mafioso a suite to awaken him, the singer having a bit of a hangover, but played it off as little more than a minor headache. As they made their way to Eva's suite, they spoke. "We've got to start being more careful. The Feds are around. They aren't here in enough force to do too much, but still." Cirillo yawned. "I've gotta go talk to one of the Capos around noon, Tomasino." he finished. Ethan took this all in, nodding as they arrived, Cirillo knocking on the door. He'd only gotten dressed into a simple white collard shirt and black pants, but his late night justified it.

Eva walked to the door, opening it and giving Cirillo a hug. " Thank you so much for looking out for me." Eva said as she welcomed the men into her room. Before them laid a huge breakfast spread, consisting of eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, muffins, bagels, pastries, toast, coffee, juice, and milk. "Hopefully you boys are hungry and I just wanted to say to the both of you, sorry if I caused any trouble, but I really appreciate the help." Eva said with a smile.

Cirillo returned the embrace as they entered the suite. "I couldn't say no. Don't look too kindly on these 'tough guys' scaring a lady." he said, glancing towards the breakfast spread before them, wasting no time in finding a seat.

"What a Robin Hood, the romantic criminal with a code." Ethan joked, finding himself a seat as well. "What, do you give all that drug trade money to the homeless on the street?" Ethan asked, wanting to chuckle but trying not to since it made his head throb.

"I can tell you I give beatings to smart ass singers, amico."

Ethan only chucked once more as he dug in, Cirillo uttering a blessing in his native language before eating as well.

"Hey, if you ever need me to do that again, or anything else...I'll be willing to help you out." Cirillo said in between mouthfuls of food.

Eva poured coffee for them, while making a mimosa for herself. She took a bite of a muffin before speaking. " Thank you very much. Later on today I was hoping one of you could accompany me to the boutique,...so I'm not looking over my shoulder. I would ask the girls, but they had a little too much fun last night. I had my room switched to the other side of the hotel, under another name. So hopefully there are no surprises tonight." Eva took a few sips of her drink, and shuffled more food in her mouth.

"Hey, whatever you need. After noon I hope? If not, I can get my friend here on the job." Cirillo said, motioning towards Ethan as he downed a sip of coffee. As he did this, Ethan spoke up.

"Good news from the front, I've got Deano on his way to Vegas, can't say when he'll arrive though." Ethan announced with a grin.

At the mention of Deano, all of Eva's worries were thrown out the window." Oh that is just wonderful news !! Well I was hoping to get a head start and go after breakfast, it should only take an hour or so. I really want to make a good first impression on Deano whenever he shows up. Today is really turning around." Eva replied bright eyed and smiling.

"You've got good looks and a golden voice, I wouldn't worry too much. He's a pretty way going fella, that's for sure." Ethan said, finishing up a cup of coffee. "He'll get you started, I'm sure. A lot of fine establishments tend to take his word on who they should be scheduling to perform." he said with a nod. It was exactly how he'd gotten started, and he imagined that once Dean put in a good word for her, shed do just fine.

Just beyond the city limits sat a shiny black Lincoln Continental in the middle of the desert. James Montella let a cigarette hang from his mouth. He was a dashing man, 30 years old, brown eyes and slick brown hair. He wore a dark suit that almost disappeared in the gathering dusk. A shovel lay at his side and a mound of freshly turned land sat in front of him. "That'll teach you to mess with the Montellas and Billy." He tossed his cigarette atop the mound, spit to his side, and slid into the seat of the suave car. He turned the key and prepared to coast into the strip.

Eva just smiled at such kind words, especially from a more established singer. Eva excused herself and finished getting ready as the two men ate. Eva put her hair into a tight bun then applied dark eye liner, powered her nose, and finished up by applying a fire engine red lipstick. She slipped into a yellow halter dress, black heels and placed a black lace hat upon her head. She came out to the two men just finishing their breakfast, sipping on some coffee. Eva grabbed her purse and addressed the two men. "Well I'm ready to leave, I promise not to make you suffer too much through this."

Cirillo finished his breakfast quickly, standing from the table and stretching as he waited for Eva to return from getting ready. Ethan finished soon after as well, and it didn't take long for Eva to return. "Is there anything you won't get stunning for?" Cirillo said, before giving a joking bow. "Lead the way then, signorina."

"Sei troppo gentile" Eva replied complete with a smile. Eva walked out of her suite, with the men following behind her. The boutique she wanted to go to was a few blocks down, so walking would be out of the question, especially with the heat and with heels. They made their way to the lobby and out to the front. The driver the hotel had hired for Eva and the Marvels was no where to be seen, and the black Lincoln Continental was empty. Eva had a puzzled look on her face and turned towards Cirillo and Ethan."I'm sorry, it seems that my driver is no where to be seen. Perhaps he had a few drinks or got lost in the casino. Should we get a taxi ?"

"We can take my car if you like, it's not too far." Cirillo said after Eva had announced that their ride was missing a driver. Ethan chuckled slightly, earning a glare from Cirillo. "Yeah, somethin' funny about that?" Cirillo asked.

"Just don't open the trunk." Ethan said with a wide grin at his joke. Cirillo shook his head. It had been at least seven weeks since he'd last had a body in the trunk and took a trip to the holes in the desert.

"Well whoever is in the trunk can help carry the bags." Eva joked before donning her sunglasses. Eva followed Cirillo a few steps away from the lobby to his car. " I love the color of your car Cirillo ! Red looks good on you. I myself have my eye on 1959 white Mercedes 190SL. It's a great machine, sleek, sophisticated, sexy and it's the only thing the Germans have ever done right."

"Yeah? I can say that's something I would drive, I've seen a few on the road. But, I'm a bit partial to this one, after all of the work I've got done t it." Cirillo said, removing his keys from his pocket and opening the driver's seat door, the interior of the mafioso's Bel Air being dominated by a pristine white leather, with a red dominating the dash and steering wheel. It was obviously well maintained.

"Hey kid, cruisin' in style now huh?" Ethan said, admiring the interior as he occupied the back seat of the car.

"Not bad for your average poor immigrant." he answered Ethan as he inserted the key into the ignition, turning and starting the vehicle.

"Not bad at all....seems like you're doing quite well for your self." Eva admired the pristine interior and loved the red and white interior. Eva had only driven a few times but always thought of driving and being driven in the finest cars money could buy. Eva made it a goal to buy herself a car when she really hit it big, however if a man bought her a car, she wouldn't refuse such a generous gift. Eva rolled down the window, her hand sticking out. The sun had warmed the car, but the white leather seats were cool to the touch. "So tell me Cirillo, how did you find your self here in Vegas ? Is this home ?" Eva asked as Cirillo started the engine.

"Oh, no. Home? Home is all the way across the Atlantic, Sicily. The Old Country. Don't remember much of it, besides leaving because of Mussolini. Came to New York, lived there until we could earn enough to move to Chicago. I ended up getting involved with the Family there. I told my family I'd gotten an honest job here in Vegas, and mamma still believes that, bless her." Cirillo said as he cruised along, the wind rushing in through the open window. "What about yourself? Family, home?" Cirillo inquired.

Cirillo's words brought back memories of home, one's that Eva pushes out of her mind. " Well it seems like the war both claimed our homes. I was just a girl when the Germans occupied Holland. My parents were causalities of the war and I was left on the streets. I got put onto a ship with other orphans and we ended up in Miami...not the ideal place for a young child. Miami remained my home for some time, and after I met the girls we moved around so much that hotels were the closet thing to home. So for now it's just me, Anita and Janelle but this business can be so cut throat, it can ruin friendships. To be honest, we've been having problems..." Eva said, her words trailing off.

"I know it probably doesn't mean much, but I'm sorry. I was fortunate, that much I understood when we left." Cirillo said, still keeping his eyes on the road ahead. He listened attentively as Eva spoke, waiting a few seconds as she trailed off at the end. "I don't imagine these are problems that can be solved by killing things, but believe it or not I could probably still help." Cirillo said, eliciting a chuckle from Ethan, who had strangely been rather quiet.

"Thank you. The girls...aren't as dedicated as I am. I'm singing and dancing to make a life for myself, to survive. Anita and Janelle already have everything, family, a home, money. If anything being in The Marvels is just something they to do to occupy their time, like a hobby almost. I spend hours rehearsing, and they only practice right before the curtain raises. Don't get me wrong, I love the girls as friends, but as people I want to work with ? No, not for much longer." Eva said with a sigh before turning her head to Cirillo." Help...how so ?" Eva asked.

"Well, the affairs of a show girl. That might just be too delicate a situation for me." Cirillo said, glancing over at Ethan. "Suggestions, big shot?" he asked, recieving a nod from the showman.

"Seems she just needs to be saddled with professionals, if its bothering you enough to accept getting with an entirely different crew, Eva. It would be tough, but you're no stranger to that. At least that way you wouldn't be the only one actually giving a damn, but you seem to have grown close with the gals." Ethan said, nodding slowly.

"If you want to resolve it that way...I can see what I could do."

James had now entered Vegas and reached into the back seat to grab a lighter. His car started to drift into the other lane and he swerved, narrowly avoiding a collision. He yelled out the window at the other black Lincoln, "Fuck you buddy!" He tossed his cigerette at the car and slammed back into his seat.

Cirillo had swerved to barely avoid the car careening out if the other lane and towards him, glancing back as the vehicle continued down the road. "Guy drives like a fucking chink!" Cirillo fumed, a rare outburst of anger from him--at least, when he wasn't intimidating someone he had to 'deal with'.
