Giovanni and his newly trained army sat on flat land surrounding the great port city of acre .His men we still fresh off the galley that landed them in the holy lands but as of now all of his troops sick or wounded were building a camp to lay siege to the city it would make a nice addition to Florence and would lead to better trading in the area and plus the would be doing good for the church and the crusade. Giovanni had then ordered his men to build to siege towers and a catapult so they could intimidate the enemy into thinking they were going to assault the walls.

Acre still is in crusader hands and was the main port for the arrival of the crusaders.
Another point is that you never made a post of your fleet leaving Italy.
Therefore ignored as teleportation godmode.

Also just so you know, the pope granted me acre, so unless you wish a Giant Italian Coalition against you....
(Such a coalition would include all states you attacked,larger states interested in the status quo(for example Lombardy),the pope,Venice and maybe even Pisa may be interested to join.

We are most disgusted by your declaration of war upon us. By doing this, not only do you jeopardize peace, but you also attack one that you have promised peace to. This is a betrayal of the treaty you signed. However, the most Esteemed Holiness the Pope has asked us to return them, as not to cause division. We will be leaving the islands shortly, however, we expect that peace shall be declared. We hope that you are satisfied with the results, as Pisa is now placing a trade embargo on all Byzantine ports and allies.

Hello, this is your allies the Pisans. We would like to ask of you a favor; We would like you to embargo all Byzantine trade. Recently, not only have they attempted to reignite the Crusade and declare war on us, but have also murdered many of our people as well as done nasty deeds to the Venetians. They have broken off all relations and deals to the merchant republics and refuse us from their ports as well as openly declaring hostility. We hope that your extra influence will help to irk the Byzantines enough so that they will be seriously affected, and in turn, be forced to their knees ultimately.

Our troops are looting and absolutely ruining the Dodecanese islands. They are stealing or throwing everything that they can and burning/knocking down whatever they can't. Anything that moves by itself is slaughtered. Each soldier is given a crate to put inside whatever loot they want and the rest of the space on the ships is filled with loot for the treasury. It is estimated that about 10,000 civilians were slaughtered and most of the sizable settlements have been looted and burnt. A total of about 2,500 gold pieces worth of loot has been taken.

Venice declares that due to the unjustice done by the Byzantine Empire, all Enemies of the Byzantines Empire, as well as pirates can stay in Venetian harbours and get letter of Marque for Byzantine Ships and coasts.
Depending on fleet/army available the fees for staying in the harbours and for letters of marque may vary between 5-50%

To the Serene Pisa Doge,
we have most of our army and fleet sent to the crusade, but the smaller Istrian fleet and its attached army will support our join cause in Greece and anatolia.
Also Pisa ships will be granted harbour for smaller fees, which are only 10% of the loot they get.

With a heave and some muttered oaths Szonyi and his friends pulled the wagon from the rut. He wiped his brow, then clambered up into the driving seat to get his lazy draft horses moving again. They whinnied in protest at being forced to work for their oats, but started clopping along all the same. His cargo hasn't shifted at the bump thankfully, and the wagon driver beamed broadly.

He had only fallen a bit behind the main caravan, and slapped the reins a bit to get moving and catch up. The massive caravan bore mighty timbers from Vladimir in the north, bound for the shores of the Black Sea, and carpenters and sailors from frozen Novgorod. Russian would make her contribution to the Pact's naval forces, and though Szonyi had heard reticence from some of the sailors- the Black Sea would have different currents and water than their northern waves- the humble driver was proud to help the Rus stand on their feet again.

And the pay wasn't bad either.
