AETEN exists solely to take that which you enjoy casually and argue it to the point where a theologian would scream.

Which is admirable in its own way.

Except Redcloak isn't funny and Xykon would get dull very quickly.

So, there.

Redcloak is believable and sympathetic, which trumps humor when the other characters come off largely as brain-dead retards (excluding Durkon). If OOTs came up to me while my house was burning down and said they'd put the fire out, I'd turn their aid down in favor of people who I could trust wouldn't simply spread the fire everywhere.

Not that I blame you - joining this from any other time than the beginning seems like it would be a complete clusterfuck.

I'd personally recommend just jumping in at Arc 3.

True. Every time I look at the IC, something inside me dies a little. Normal reaction, I know.

I'll just have Kane and my new char Hiraku get into the thick of things at Arc 3's start, where things will start anew. Somewhat.

Actually, it wasn't really. The first twenty pages or so were just "the supernatural is real, there's a supernatural school and shit and you do stuff".

Now it's basically the plot of Lost but with at least a bit more sense behind it because Lost was awful.

Well, that was metaphorical, really. Lost had a completely different plot and completely different ideas and it was completely fucking different in basically every single way.

The one similarity they both share is that both plots are confusing and hard to follow and they don't make sense sometimes.
