It's the same thing in some parts of India as well, but I think they did it because most of the time Indians will usually copy off British TV rather than American TV. Of course, things are changing now.

They've been working on mass producing these in the last few months. Those other aircraft may be around, but even without magic it is 2020 and technology updates fast.
