Aye, I find the concept of religion fascinating enough without supernatural influences being real- seeing how things would rapidly change with the supernatural being real would be very interesting for me personally to explore, since I like worldbuilding. But it'll depend on whether it'll fit with what's going to happen in the next arc. I might make a religious character and then that aspect can be better explored, or use the angels to explore it.

Besides, a kind of chaplain/counselor/religious-studies-teacher - a little like AWB Gabriel at his most gentle and fatherly - might bring a bit of comfort and sanity to EH, as well as providing an opportunity to explore the reactions of religious people and organizations to this new world. Lies! Nat actually has started playing on this in AWB, with a martial-arts-battle reenactment of the Reformation. Seriously, though, compulsory clerical celibacy is the best way imaginable to ensure that you end up with only sexually disturbed people in your clergy. It could be designed to the purpose.

Before life got in the way, I had introduced Ivan as a Russian Orthodox so we could get a Reformation debate. I'm watching the current one in AWB with great interest.

Admittedly I end up thinking Christianity is Catholic because I was educated at a Catholic school, my wife is Catholic, most Indian Christians are Catholic and so on. The fact Christianity also had sects like Hinduism and Islam was a shock to me at first.

Trying to decide whether it was when he accidentally fired everyone in his first battle with barbarians, including those within his own tent party. That or he was pissed the fuck off when either a sibling or comrade died, and accidentally unleashed a torrent of electricity into their body that revived them for a brief period of time, but due to brain damage (that he didn't understand), they didn't know who they were or what had happened, only that they had been stabbed and then soon collapsed, dead again and incapable of being restored again.

And they each want the rest to bugger off.

Out of them, I generally like the Quakers, Anglicans and Episcopals. Those institutions (at least in the West) tend to be more agreeable with my viewpoint. I don't like Catholicism, but I know very few Catholics who follow every word of the Catholic Church. I think it's a requirement of Catholicism to ignore half the things the Church officially says.
