yeah, but what I am wondering is whether or not there is a Patriarch of Constantinople in this alternate history. Considering that the Turkic Empire is technically an Orthodox nation, but has a Muslim majority.

There isn't a central leader in Orthodoxy in general. That being said, I'd like to think that my Patriarch of Venice, of the line of Saint Mark, is an important Patriarch.

But there has never been a head Patriarch. The Ecumenical Patriarch is merely the first amongst equals in the Orthodox church, which basically just let's him preside over Ecumenical councils, if and when they are called.

I've gotten the basics for my heretic religion down:

Jesus was a balance of three ideals, each summarized by two facets: philosopher/teacher, artist/craftsman, warrior/athlete. All ideal men (and maybe women? I don't know how heretical I want this to be) should strive to be like Jesus in this fashion. Jesus the Philosopher studied and understood and Jesus the Teacher spread this understanding. Jesus the Artist created beauty, and Jesus the Craftsman (Jesus was a carpenter, after all) created functional objects. Jesus the warrior fought (with words/love/power of friendship) for his beliefs honorably, and Jesus the athlete denied sloth and gluttony and [treated his body like a temple?]

The outcome should be a hyper-competitive meritocratic society where being wealthy/powerful isn't an end in itself and honor is really important. Ripe for nationalism when it hits.
Probably going to be against reform, too: everyone will be too prideful to accept welfare, and meritocracy will be favored over democracy.


Might make it a little less Fascist sounding. I don't know.

Afterall If two years is too soon to build the warships I desire, 30 days, even when commandering the merchant ships that would be capable of war and with every Pirate in the Atlantic somehow learning of the British offer and accepting amnesty in return for their service (which they would have no reason to do since crime is their only stable source of income, they aren't all going to settle down as farmers) to grow a fleet by 150 warships in 30 days seems way to drastic to me. Since Great Nepal is a co-mod and disagrees with me, I am asking another co-Mod or others to weigh in here as to what they think.

I dont know where you got number of thirty days, it has been atleast 2 years since ship building started (25 ships by devoting massive amount of money and manpower plus I have hammer and sickle as national idea which increases manufacturing).

They can go back to piracy once their service is over with the salary, loot and clean record. Also, fact that they helped in time of need will mean they get lighter sentence if ever caught in future for crime afterwards.

It is win-win for them.

I didn't build 150 ships. I built 25 ships.
I hired 70 from player nations through agreements.
Rest of ships are ships belonging to pirates who have been promised amnesty, right to loot and salary. For one fleet, they got right to use one British port to resupply and rest for ten years.

As soon as war is over, the fleet size drops to less than 150 ships as pirates go their way and ships belonging to players go back to serving their crown.
