So, does anyone know if the people in control of Egypt, Turkey, and Persia are still involved in this? I haven't seen any posts from them in the OOC since a long time ago by them, and none in the IC.

Yes, I feel like that, too sometimes. A logical explanation would be that everyone here is from the same time zones, and you're not. That's why in the morning here (now) nobody is posting, but in the evening, when it wouldn't be the middle of the night in America, I can't keep up with the multitude of posts.

I meant to post this weekend, but I didn't have time because of all the college work I had to do. Sorry guys. BTW, I think I might have the Gurkhan convert to Catholicism. Think of it as the beginning of the Counter-Orthodoxation.

If pope doesn't accept the request to excommunicate everyone involved in Knights of God, Britain moves away from Catholicism (crowning Archbishop as true representative of God on Earth) by popular revolution, so I guess its only fair to Catholicism.

I doubt you could get Portugal to change its religion, given that it would be very hard for you to decisively defeat Portugal. At best, you'll probably get an admission of defeat, a withdrawl of the Knights and a promise not to interfere with the rest of the world again.

Indeed. But it seems like Nightkill might be leaving, and the Caliphate wouldn't exactly be interested in converting a nation from one heretical religion to another. I suppose you could tempt them with territory for support, though.

I've gotten the basics for my heretic religion down:

Jesus was a balance of three ideals, each summarized by two facets: philosopher/teacher, artist/craftsman, warrior/athlete. All ideal men (and maybe women? I don't know how heretical I want this to be) should strive to be like Jesus in this fashion. Jesus the Philosopher studied and understood and Jesus the Teacher spread this understanding. Jesus the Artist created beauty, and Jesus the Craftsman (Jesus was a carpenter, after all) created functional objects. Jesus the warrior fought (with words/love/power of friendship) for his beliefs honorably, and Jesus the athlete denied sloth and gluttony and [treated his body like a temple?]

The outcome should be a hyper-competitive meritocratic society where being wealthy/powerful isn't an end in itself and honor is really important. Ripe for nationalism when it hits.
Probably going to be against reform, too: everyone will be too prideful to accept welfare, and meritocracy will be favored over democracy.


Might make it a little less Fascist sounding. I don't know.
