And the old houses for your merchants belong to Pisa now actually. and on the salt issue I can pay Aragon a nice amount or help the Almohads for a nice deal. Or I can ask England if I can send my merchants to england where they can make salt. So what are you going to do?

'course its biased.
Its a surrender treaty.
Wanna have a bidding race with aragon.....
The almohads have been pushed south - It'd take some time for them to reach up to your border.
Again - money against money,I can agree on buying the salt for higher prices.Lets see whom england agrees to.
Hunger France out.
In the long run, without salt, you're dead.

You could also just make your own salt. Dry sea water.

Ahh true, I assume this comment is for me. I could do that because it would take ages for the venetian navy to get up to the English channel.

Ok I have had enough, you want to have your merchants in my ports, FINE, but nothing else, there will be no price bargains and you will pay the same rates everyone else pays. I will not give you a special deal just because you threaten me "Oh I'm gonna starve out France". Jesus!!!!!!!! You are really annoying with this GRAND fleet stuff and you really want me to trade with you because you have a navy and I don't, NO!!!! You can have your merchants in France or not, thats it. No bargains, no price reductions, no special treatment. You can wait in line with everyone else and pay the price. Your call now.

Wait, are you angry at me OOCly?
If so,excuse me,I'm sorry,that wasnt intended.

Ahhh well, seems it time to ready up the fleet.

The salt can be produced by the English Channel as well and the salt at Provence is from MARSHES, not by the sea entirely. And I can send Merchants to the Almohads by land and that Sauron dude wanted play as Arles I think?

Nope, I then retook control of it and cancelled all the land changes which included freeing Provence. I still control it!!!
Dijon, France, Kingdom of France
Titus, after much consideration decided to keep all the french land he held. France would not relinquish any of its holdings and the land changes to France would not go through. Titus had a dream, a dream of what france would become if he made her great, and a dream of if he let her fall into Ruin. France was dying and Titus did not want to see his Homeland die. Titus then began the Reformation of France, the Reparatio Francie et Francos Populi. Titus was young and he put all his energy and all his time and thought on rebuilding France. France was weak, it was bankrupt, France was everything but that it shouldn't be. Titus saw his predecessors as corrupt fools who didn't know how to Lead France. Titus then began his work. Titus reluctantly decided to reinstate some of the Feudalism that France once had. Then Titus began to lower taxes on the peasants of france and he began to export more and import less. Titus also began to send troops to his Vassal of Provence and then he lowered the army down to 15,000 troops and 20,000 war-time active militia. Titus also lend his own personal wealth to investors and nobles and began to rebuild the broken merchants guild. Titus then set up a new tax system and began to tax his vassals more heavily and raised tariffs on all other trade partners but Pisa. Titus also began the construction of a new road system and had three of the active quarries mine stone for the project. Titus also had the gold and silver in the old palaces in Dijon and smelted in Florins. Titus then took residence in a small Castle 5 miles from Dijon. He sent General Tullius to Provence with 10,000 men and had 5000 stationed through out France. For France and its people things began to look up. Titus also crowned himself King of France. France needed no Emperor and the Title was foolish. Now only time could tell if France would survive or not......

I doubt Venice can somehow blockade every single bit of French coast and prevent them from collecting seawater. I mean, come on! That would require a ship every couple ten metres to stop them getting sea water, and even then, they could shoot at the ships till they die. If thye get reinforcements, go and get the water where the reinforcements left from. Not to mention marshes, swamps, salt lakes, inlets, other oddities that get seawter inland
Plus, I'M helping them.

True, but large-scale salt production could be an issue.

Again True but don't forget we already have stockpiles of salt and keeping wheat is the main issue, but meats is what we really need salt for.

It was useful for the deployment of military forces though, not the peasantry.

The elections began in Pisa for the new senators, councilors and generals. For a while, all over the streets were posters, brawls, voters, heated discussions and pamphlets. In the end, 8 of the 16 council members were voted out and 194 senators were re-elected. The generals vote was last, so it was not yet known. Overall, it was a very busy, restless and noisy time, although it didn't happen often.

You are a Republic? And we need to increase the amount of trade regulation and tariffs on all other nations to increase our profit and fill the gaps.

Unless you have a monopoly too much tariff s and taxes lessen the interest of traders and in proportion their amount.
