Patriarch of the Schönburg House and Rani’s former superior, Ludwig is the Leader of the Weapons Research Division stationed in Indonesia and one of Karlsland’s best commanders. As a child, he loves hunting with his trusty Assault rifle and known to be ill-tempered if things doesn’t goes his way.

Graduated from the University of Berlin at 18 with flying colours, he enlisted in the military as an Army officer. Ever since his time in the army, he was transformed from a quick-tempered man into a cold and calculative individual. In Afghanistan, his methods towards hostile insurgents are brutal. Most of them violate human-rights but they’re quick and efficient, bringing the end to local insurgency in the province where he was stationed at.

When Ludwig is stationed in Indonesia as a Colonel, he was nicknamed ‘The Butcher of Jakarta’, for ruthlessly suppressing rebels and dissent by violent means. Not to mention, there’s a rumour he enjoys ethnic cleansing of hapless villagers and covered it up before anyone finds out. This has instilled fear and hatred from the local populace and those sympathize with the plight of the Indonesian people.

A proud aristocrat by birth, Ludwig believes Karlsland, ‘the pure and untainted nation’ deserves to rule the world unchallenged. Anyone who disagrees with his views deserves to die in his opinion. Despite his misconducts in Indonesia and his reputation as a ruthless commander in the Great War, his skills as a capable tactician are quite invaluable to the Karlsland government, much to their reluctance. Especially he has good connections with powerful corporations and influential member of the fatherland’s ruling Elites.

Most of all, he's directly responsible for imprisonment of Rani's boyfriend and her big brother.
