First...music.
After listening to the soundtrack of Les Miserables twenty-five times, an idea popped in my head:
How about we subvert a typical trope or two by making a classical fantasy RP (with elves, dragons, magic and whatnot) but in a setting similar to that of Europe between 1789 and 1848?
My idea so far is the following: Either this will be an RP split into episodes (with the first episode revolving around a great French-like Revolution in a fantasy nation and the next ones focusing on the massive continental war between Revolutionaries and Monarchists, and perhaps also address the dictatorial governments that arised in Revolutionary France with characters like Robespierre), or we have two parallel IC threads, one handling the Revolution itself, and the other one handling the wars between nations.
With that said, now it is the time to brainstorm and build this fictional world together, create some background history and characters so that you players won't have to start everything from scratch in the IC thread(s).
Some matters that we need to settle:
-Name of world, countries, cities and organizations.
-World map (already have one ready, but maybe you guys will find better ones).
-Races involved and their culture(s) (I have an "original" race ready and set for this RP, but other races will need to be thoroughly developed. We can't just leave it at "humans, elves and orcs")
-Basic background history.
-Applications.
-Anything else that you consider relevant.
This thread will also serve for those who just want to express interest or reserve a spot (as I will put a limit on players at some point). You can also post your ideas here, including concepts for your characters, countries or organizations.
