Also, people have tastes. I personally am not interest in MLP, or ever I'll be, but not like I have grudges with whoever likes those small, colourful horsies.

I know some great, intelligent people that like MLP. They just enjoy the show is all.

I mean, I love dark, gritty, twisted, depressing shows and movies (Game of Thrones, Silent Hill, want to see Tideland which is supposed to be twisted, ect), but for a lot of people that's not their thing, and they prefer happy stuff. For me, I personally find some of the blandest stories to be "Happy" movies, or movies that force a happy ending that makes no sense. So I just lean towards darker, grittier stuff.....Which can be equally bland, but yeah.

I've been suggested anime's a few times, but never actually watched them. One Piece is huge, but I think that show would drive me up the wall after a while from what I've seen.

Mine -
Cowboy Bebop,
Samurai Champloo,
Soul Eater (the manga is good, I've heard the anime is too),
C-Control

Theirs -
Black Blood Brothers

If you see I've made a mistake in my wording or a factual detail, telegram me and I'll fix it. I'll even give you credit for pointing it out, if you'd like.

Magi and Claymore are good as well.
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

I guess you would like Cowboy Bebop.

I keep hearing that being suggested to me because I liked Firefly, so I should check it out.

You should. Not only is it one of the best animes ever made, but it's perfect for people like you who aren't really into anime as the show was made in a more western style of story and character. Thus, it would be somewhat familiar ground. I've actually heard of a lot of people who don't watch any anime except Cowboy Bebop.

It's also a perfect gateway series if you want to get more into anime ;)

Dunno if it is there. You could try buying the DVD box sets.
Or....yeah, those other ways I better not speak of in public. Even if I did, I get the impression that you aren't the type of guy who would use such ways.

Shame that website isn't disponible in Italy :(
Oh, but well, I still know a web TV where you can watch some series like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Evangelion with an actually good Italian dub, for free and in a perfectly legal way.

I thought it was an hoax, but to my glee, it was all real.

I actually tend to find Netflix to be crap. They've done a lot of annoying things recently. Like making you have to pay for both DVD's and instant streaming separately. Which is why we only have streaming now.

Then they did some screwy stuff with the streaming. My main problem with Netflix is a lot of the time, they don't have enough movie selections. I've looked up about 10 movies I wanted to see and not a single one was on there. I don't know if it's the movie companies faults or what. TV shows they seem to be doing fine with. It's the movies that are falling behind. These movie companies need to get into the modern age or they are going to screw themselves, because making it where nobody can easily watch your stuff in the modern age is just going to get people to watch it illegally even more. For me, if they would put this stuff on streaming on Netflix, I'm more likely to buy it if I enjoy the movie. Hell, it would be fine with me if they even limited how many times you could watch it on streaming, to avoid people using Netflix just to watch all of their movies so you have to buy the ones you like if you want to keep watching them.

Yes, movie discussions. Totally related.

I actually think I've found more obscure things on Netflix then non-obscure. A lot of which just looks like crap.

Possibly. I don't know. I'd check, but the site is having technical difficulties.

Though, the Asylum isn't actually obscure. It's got some infamy behind it. Obscure would be shit that you literally cannot buy anywhere outside of eBay or similar places.

I've found some pretty obscure indie films, that were actually good. I've kind of ran out of things I want to watch (except with shows), so I've been grabbing movies at random lately. Well, when I watched stuff, that is. Now I got distracted before I actually watched anything the other day.

Then there's a lot of...well....stuff that just looks and sounds like crap from the description alone.

If you are into weird obscure, artistic films though, I recommend Ink. Not the most fantastic acting, but I enjoyed it for its weird artistic filming and whatnot.

Video Game Academy. It's a web series. You can watch it for free on Youtube.
