This is true, but there's a point where society considers to be the "ick" factor. You could very well date someone below that that's still over age of majority, but a lot of people are going to cock eyebrows.

Also, it's a lot more useful in the teen years, so that you don't have seniors in high school dating twelve year olds.

Twelve year olds shouldn't be dating, anyways. The equation only works for a minimum age of 14. Any lower than that, and it no lower gives rational results. For instance, for a twelve year-old, it would give a minimum dating age of 13.

Yes, I think x/3 + 50 works best. It gives a minimum age of 75 before it stops working, which I think is a comparably good starting point if puberty begins at 50 and also does well to incorporate the elongated and slow aging process of the Redemit. *nods*
