Mexico and Iceland are too far away. I'm investing my capital in the Swiss because I can beat the crap out of them if they try to abuse their monetary power and use it as leverage against me.

Only because you have Italy to divide my forces. Otherwise i'd funnel you through choke-points and create a 1920's Thermopylae. Look up what the Swiss did in WW2 in case Germany invaded. I can easily do the same thing, sort of. Well not the exact same thing, but close enough.

But it isn't an alliance for one, it's a trade pact.

And why would I steal money from you? I'm not even investing in Swiss Banks, nor would you in Mexican banks or I'm assume so.

I'm intending on the Levant to be (one of) the alliance's industrial giants. Maxed out Ind. Cap. just for that purpose.

WRONG. It is, at this moment, a trade pact, and a loosely joined alliance type thing. Its only loosely an alliance because our trade is so valuable, anyone who fucks with it is getting jumped.

Point being this. My economy will not falter. Or if it does it'll be slow as hell. If you invade me, you might as well ask NK to kill all your men with a lightning bolt because they're gonna die (remember, i have two big allies right next to me.). Say we put our money, in, Sweden. Sweden is invaded by Russia and Germany. There is no way in hell we will get there quick enough. Sweden will die, and all our money gone. Say, Germany invades me. As he moves slowly through the mountains, he is slowed more so by Swiss Geurillas popping over cliffs and tossing grenades like confetti. By the time he gets through the mountains, it is very likely Italy and France will have a Fresh, well equipped army there to stand its ground with my remaining forces. In short, if i have the money, its not getting taken. By thieves, war, whatever.

NewBern99, how exactly did Portugal get the message or even a hint that the meeting would be occurring? There seems to be no justification for it save for you to get a word in...

Its not like he sent the message secretly or anything at least I though it was like an open invitation. Anyways...a gathering of the most powerful nations in Europe...words gonna get out sooner or later I just made it sooner so that yes, I would have an a way to get involved in things going on in Europe. Not much else to post about yet. Though if he has a problem with me knowing about it yet ill take it down and wait.

EDIT: Also New Babylonia that IC post is me fishing for an invitation :D. Im in Europe too
