At this point it's probably more accurate.

*COUGH* Massivechangeoftopicguys! *COUGH*

So, I was thinking of making a character RP set in mediaeval times about a group of noble children who gradually go through the stages to becoming a knight, and then end up in some (potentially comical) situations, romances, and battles. Any interest?

*Casts OP's lesser banhammer*

That should totally be a D&D spell...

Anyway, yeah. Fun though this is, it would be better mobilised to the Wombat. I mean, what EXACTLY do you think people will think of us when they read the first few pages of the thread?

I put this up in Traveller's Café, but no response has appeared. So at risk of seeming hypocritical, I ask that you give sexual-innuendo-free comments.

I'm considering either a reboot of this RP or another, more adventure-focused one set in the same world. This would hopefully be a bit more easy to understand. Those of you who noticed or participated in the first one, or anyone who wants to help, do you have any suggestions?

Were I to go with the second choice- "Altryca: Aerialis' Hoard"- the backstory would be as here follows.
Long years have passed since the legend of the Aurantil, the Orb of Kings, first took root among sages and adventurers. Many have attempted to ascertain its whereabouts, at terrible cost- their families, their sanity, their lives. It has been said that the object formed the basis of a treasure beyond worth, that its possessor, Emperor Nantem Den'Micret, was given immeasurable power, eternal life, and wisdom such that the greatest sages of the First Expanse bowed their heads in awe. But as with all great things, the eyes of others were upon the Aurantil. The dragon Azangrist, greatest of his kind, descended in fury upon the halls of Mount Halascar, capital of the Thon'Micret Imperium. The Iron Wyrm, they called him, and not without reason. No blade could pierce his hide, no armor long withstand the heat of his demonic flame. For months the land lay in tumroil. Seas went up in steam, the blood of armies drenched the ground and the fields lay fallow in the land. The earth was rent, and much was lost. On the last day of the ninth month, the Emperor fell, betrayed to his death by his own brother. And so fell the greatest yet cruelest empire of the age.

Fleeing from destruction and pursued by the Kry'zican, the allies of the wyrms, the last survivors of Thon'Micret fled northwards, settling in the Vale of Clouds. Their nation was named Altryca, "Northern Dawn", to remind them of what they sought. Shaking off the clouds of lingering fear, the crown was passed to one Delanus of Pinacil, who led the people onto a new era of light. It was several years after the founding of the nation when a wandering spellcaster came up from the south, bearing a sick child in his arms. Estar'yel they named him, Seeker of Light, and so he became known as their protector, the servant of the King, he who kept the darkness at bay. For darkness there was, on all sides. Long years the watch lay heavy on the fell borders of the Forgotten Empire, and the mountains to the north lay unguarded. And therein lay the folly of the Altrycans, for Azangrist lay silent beneath Halascar and the wilderness greened beneath the mountain-slopes. The Kry'zican struck without warning, and Aerialis, the boy Estar'yel had reared as his own, disappeared. As he had been the prince-nominate, the unbridled fury of Delanus' House nigh on destroyed their foes, forming a lasting emnity between the two peoples. But the prince was nowhere to be found. Centuries passed, and the Kingship fell to lesser men.

In the third millennium of Altryca, Estarriel, for the language had changed from the ancestral tongue of Thon'Micret, walked once more unto the South. They say a dragon walked at his side, and for long years naught was heard of the wandering mage. The legends of old were not forgotten, and it was rumored Estarriel sought the Aurantil. Return he did, alone, weary, and sorrowful. Of his quest all he said was that some things were better left forgotten. The golden dragon, no more was heard. In the year 4612, letters appeared in the houses of a few. Elves, dwarves, faeren, men- all ages alike, but not only to the rich nor wise, the summons came. The time had come to take from the dragon what the free peoples rightfully owned. The Aurantil must be regained.

Take up the mantle of Adventure, friend, shed your trouble, sharpen your wit and blade. Lay aside your greed and hatred, for these and more will break the bonds of body and soul. Do you count yourself able? Then meet at the White Oak in Delanusa on the seventh day of the seventh month. There I will meet you, and there you will be tried.

~N. Estarriel

You would be an adventurer on the Quest for the Aurantil. Survival or success would be your province, and your wit as well as your heart will be sorely tried. If this sounds appealing, please say so- and any feedback whatsoever would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey guys, long time no see I know. But I'm looking at getting back into RPing after a serious case of writers block (writing a chase scenes are harder than I thought and plot bunnies for various spin-offs and sequels/prequels aren't helping).
I have an idea for a Harry Potter based RP, but still working on the ideas and just seeing if people would be interested.

OK, I know I said about a Harry Potter RP but I'm currently stalled on that one less it gives me any MORE ideas for HP fanfiction, but I'm working on setting it in the time just before Voldemort's first rise to power.
Anyway onto the main reason I put this post in (other than to prove I'm not dead yet) I'm working on a starcraft RP, It'll only be loosely based off the games, I'm hoping to set it up a bit like First's X-COM RP, with different missions to go on, in between missions you can spend gold obtained from completed missions on upgrading your weapons/armour and decide on the next mission to take on. The missions themselves will be based on a dice system I'm currently working on, whilst also relying on the standard RP things to drive the plot.
The basis is that we'd be working as a group of mercenaries/pirates/rebels as the known galaxy implodes into war between the terrans (humans) and two alien races, fighting for their own piece of freedom sometimes meaning doing the hardest missions and going where no-one else wants to go, but it'll be worth it in the end right? well, with the war who knows as the Terran Confederacy falls apart and the Terran Dominion rises with the threats of whole systems being overrun by the hordes of Zerg and the merciless destruction of whole planets by the Zergs sworn enemies the Protoss will one group of rebels be missed? or will they rise above even the legendary Raynors Raiders in fame and power?
You won't need to know much about Starcraft at all to be in it, most if not all the information on the Starcraft universe needed will either be given at the start or provided throughout the plot.

Thanks, working on the missions at the moment and have come up with a few interesting ones which will make the RP differ from the games slightly, as well as fixing possibly the greatest injustice in the entire series.
