But, whatever. Does it matter?

Yes, because I'm getting real tired of being ignored unless I'm whining and having James constantly getting downgraded to Worf status because of bullshit. Any time there's a major threat James, who should be able to handle it, is randomly rendered ineffective and useless. Only twice has that been averted: Zacheriah, which was planned, and Damien, which I had to fucking lie to my best friend about in order to do it.

And with this war coming up I am seriously worried that James and the ISSR, the guys who know how to go to war with the supernatural and win, are going to be as effective as a pea is to a colony of ants. I have seen literally nothing to prove otherwise, and unless I do I'm either going to have to leave an RP that I love and want to be a part of, or end up killing it again.

I don't want either of those and you probably don't either, so please stop creating bullshit immunities, stop stripping away every single moment I try to have James actually act like the professional killer he is, and stop treating him (and me) like a kid way in over his head. Please.

...I had a comedic character do a comedic thing to a character who was harassing someone else.

I don't like James, yes, and I've made it clear that he acts like an annoying shit sometimes. But I hardly see how I'm insulting you.

I just don't see the problem, really. James does most everything you want him to. Just because it doesn't necessarily have the intended effect doesn't mean anyone's out to get you.

That isn't the part I'm talking about.

It's this:
Nationstatelandsville wrote:"Yeah, he's pretty much immune to bullets,"

Now, that in and of itself doesn't instantly render James' exploding bullets ineffective. The tougher demons are immune to normal bullets too.
It's this that finally broke the camels back:
Nationstatelandsville wrote:Eats them.

And shoots them out his eye.

Right there is where you straight-up say he's invincible, and that is where I threw up my hands and gave up. Resistance to certain things: Those are fine, and it's the likelihood that demons (and other supernatural) are going to be resistant to normal bullets that had me give James his explosive bullets in the first place, and why I'm giving the same to most everyone else. But straight-up saying you're immune to everything isn't fun or funny at all and does nothing but make the other guy look weak and retarded.

It's satire.

The bears, the whole time, have been a satirical mockery of what constitutes a bad-ass, especially the informed ability. The only bear to ever actually back up his claims is Polarbeard and that's because what he does is intentionally ridiculous.

In case you haven't noticed, the real bears are either pussies, militaristic assholes, or just straight men.

You're in a group activity. That requires you bounce off other people's actions. Not everything you do is going to work out. For example, I wanted to do an arc-spanning conspiracy in which the two bears from earlier slowly tear away their society and pick apart the bears, effectively deconstructing their image. Night chose to just kill them off. I didn't complain because it worked - ultimately, this isn't about your plans. This is about everyone coming together to make something.

No one is scared of James, largely because they're all done equally "scary" things and none of them think him competent enough to actually be intimidating. That's who he is, that's how he's been for a very long time.

Also, a flying Richard Nixon head. But that's floating around the Omniverse.

OK, but, for the sake of the metaphor, this is a parallel universe where the president is instead an old guy from Wisconsin or something.

I don't want them scared of him, and fuck I don't even expect him to actually be respected in the IC.

It's the disrespect in the OOC that's pissing me off, and the fact that everything he does is derailed one way or another even if it requires fucking with the suspension of disbelief. There's a post I want to make in the IC, but I'm honestly expecting to be ignored and that James, even when he makes good points, will still be treated like he's an 18-year-old show-off.

So, basically I can include some more chances for James to be a badass, as well as the other characters. Largely because the following battles will give everyone a chance to be badass.

As for the bears satire thing, Nat can make it more clear when he's joking or not.

What else are the problems?

Yes, because no one in the IC likes him. So, yeah, they'll probably blow him off because they're all idiots. This is well-kown.

And no one's disrespected you. Honestly, I don't see where you're getting that impression. I don't like James. Neither does Ende. So? I don't like Pierre or Khana, either. That doesn't matter, does it? If we're talking about our distaste, we're either making a joke or offering criticism, criticism you could either ignore or use to change your character.

I honestly don't know what you want. An apology? Because I guess I'm sorry for offending you.

Nat: Night's always in some bizarre state somewhere between "intoxicated enough to kill a hair metal lead singer" and "annoying Mormon missionary sober".

Swith: It's because you're so awesome. God himself refreshes the screen before he types just to see if Nightkill has written anything while he was off somewhere else.

It's Nightkill. He's been there so long he rents out rooms to other people at a flat rate, but demands cash up front.
