I like to believe that Lewis' mother's womb exploded, and Lewis flew out (identical to his current appearance, mind you), punching out the doctor, his father, his mother, and his god-parents. He also lit some gunpowder, by accident, causing the cabin to explode.

So, knowing him as a child wouldn't be much different.
