What do you mean "goddmodding"? The British crews were sailing from outside the Persian Gulf and Kuwait is tiny. You could occupy the place in less that 24 hours.

And I'm fairly sure the US didn't have a naval base in Bahrain in the 1950's. Or not one that was capable of handling aircraft carriers.

Well I issued you an ultimatum and you just ignored it. I would have attacked you had you posted you were getting extremely close to the city.

The naval base opened in 1948 and you're right about it not being able to homeport a carrier. The US had so many carriers in the 50s they'd just rotate them throughout any naval bases they had. As for occupying it in 24 hours, I don't think you could trek through 100+ kilometres of desert in that time.

You think the Iraqis weren't motorised in the 50's? Because they had motorised divisions even in 1941 so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say that it could be possible.

And anyway, the invasion took two or three days anyway. So even if we couldn't occupy the country in 24 hours, we'd have already occupied the capital city by the time any fleet carriers or any surface vessels arrived on scene going by how long it takes.

As for the British, they had no chance of defending the country with the resources available at that time, hence why the Meteors were deployed. They were there to buy them time and they did.

Either way, it was still enough time for me to occupy Kuwait City.

Of course in saying that, seeing as the naval station in Bahrain couldn't handle aircraft carriers at that point in time, where would said carriers come from?

woh, Kuwait already fell? dont i get to rp my forces stationed there? a day to respond seems a tad too short considering its the holidays. as for my meteors getting destroyed, i object. Iraq did not have the capabilities to shoot down the jets considering they were piloting biplanes that could not even operate in the altitude the meteors cruise under. Also, in Iraq's force disclosure, i saw little or no AA capabilities sent in the invasion force, so how could they be shot down?

Again, the US had 18 aircraft carriers in 1950 so they has one in the Persian Gulf at all times. The 1990 invasion of Kuwait took three days and that was using helicopters, armoured divisions, and Iraq-Kuwait highway systems.

That's what I said originally, he didn't give you a chance to RP your defending forces which is not okay. Iraq you have not captured Kuwait.

Understandable, but not really my problem.

Understandable again, if your Meteors were actually destroyed. But seeing as they are not, you have nothing to object.

Iraq did not have the capabilities to shoot down the jets considering they were piloting biplanes that could not even operate in the altitude the meteors cruise under.

We do not have jets (yet) but Iraq does possess 55 Hawker Fury (land based version of the Sea Fury), which are far more advanced than the biplanes that apparently the British government didn't remember selling.

Also, in Iraq's force disclosure, i saw little or no AA capabilities sent in the invasion force, so how could they be shot down?

Iraq needs to give the British time to respond. You can't just bypass the defenders and say "I won."

I haven't. The British haven't officially surrendered yet and the King's visit times in with a secondary plot by the Free Officers movement to remove the King from power and establish a new regime.

The Iraqis will pull out according to the deadline if the Western states such as Britian, the US etc. recognise the Free Officers movement as the new legitimate government of Iraq.

I'm saying you can't say you captured Kuwait City without the British responding. They have a brigade sized force in Kuwait that wouldn't let the Iraqis into Kuwait City.

I didn't ignore it. He said garrison of British troops. That could be anything from one, perhaps two hundred soldiers at best to what is an apparent brigade size force there. I wasn't going to go with "Iraqis encountered x amount of troops and we did this and this is how many British soldiers were killed or captured". There's still room for movement.
