Union Guy:
Greg was sitting in the mud under the hot Missouri sun. Looking at the sky he thought of his home and what his three sisters, parents, and two brothers were doing. Dazed in thought he just sat there doing nothing. People walked by looking at him and walking away. He was happy he joined the army. He had made many friends. He hadn't been in any battles and most of the time he got to slack off and do nothing. But battles were heading this way, he was sure of it. But when? He then got up and slept in the wooden barracks in a restless sleep.
Confederate guy:
John was talking with his squad and messing around with them. They had a good time messing around by the fire (Which they didn't need). and were sipping some Yankee coffee. Yankee coffee was treasure to them and they kept on drinking until every last bit of it was gone. Thinking about what they just did by killing a whole squad of soldiers and drink down coffee like this was a waste. The people in Johns squad were nice and didn't hate Yankees with all their guts, in fact they made deals with them and actually did stuff with them. They tradded tobacco for coffee and they swam talked and did many other things. But this day they had to kill this squad. Usually they would avoid it but they had finally come to their senses and gunned them down. It felt good finally killing the enemy.
