American Civil War RP (Open to sign ups)

Postby Lewina » Mon Nov 26, 2012 5:52 pm

It was 1861 when the Northern and Southern United States parted forming the Union and Confederacy and starting one of the bloodiest wars in American history. This was the Civil War. It would last for four long years and kill hundred or soldiers and citizens including African Americans who were treated as slaves in the Southern U.S.

General Sherman stood in front of his men with a smile."Men. Today a war began when the rebels fired upon our fort. Now is the time to retaliate. I have been requested to take you on a campaign. We will go south with General Grant. Together we will bring stability to the anarchy that has befallen our southern comrads. We will end this war, no matter what it takes. For President Lincoln, and for the United States of America!"Sherman took out his saber and raised it with a cry."For the Union!"
I thought I could do this again, but I have too much on my plate. I have to actually give up on this. Sorry everyone.

Raleigh, North Carolina, 9:45 AM
Colonel Allderman and his regiment were marching toward the Army of Northern Virginia to join up with General Genul. Then Allderman heard a rustling in the bushes, he ordered a few men to search the bushes. They found runaways, Allderman dismounted his horse and marched toward the slaves. He calmly asks what plantation they came from.No Answer. He asks again. No Answer. They start running. He orders the ssoldiers to raise their guns and they fire. The whole family goes down, a pain in Allderman's chest grows but it dies down. The regiment continues marching. Now in Northern North Carolina.

Boston Mass, 10:30 AM
Col.Barrasso stood a top a balcony speaking with his superiors. "I've heard our orders... We are to move south? Into Maryland?" Jacob asked with content on the face, but worry on the mind. He had never been in a serous combat situation, only once on a trip to the Arizona territory when a small band of Apache ambushed his convoy. Col.Denny replied, also seeming a bit rattled... "Yeah, I've heard the same, only that we'll march into North Carolina, or Virginia." Jacob sighed, "It'll be hell...

The March.
The army, as expected left the safety of Boston, and left the safety of Massachusetts ... They were eventualy near the Pennsylvania Maryland border. "This, will be a war that kills this nation..." Barrasso said under his breath near his superiors.

Sherman sat upon his horse leading the march south. A messenger reached him and handed him an envelope. General Sherman opened it and looked behind him."We have a new course boys. Apparently the rebels are going after the rivers. We are to secure the Ohio river, then move over to where it meets the mississippi. There we will meet with General Grant. We will get furthur orders then. Does everyone understand?"He yelled to the soldiers as he turned his horse.

Northern Virginia, 7:54 PM
Colonel Allderman and his regiment has finally made it to the camp of the Army of Northern Virginia. Allderman doesn't talk to General Genul because of stress and sleep deprivation. His soldiers set up his tent and he immediately lays down and sleeps.

Captain Brackmen the leader of I company was wait for their permission to march with Sherman. I Company was a group full of veterans. They had been in the army for atleast four years. They were ready for some action. They had heard of some tensions rising in the south. But none of them would have seen this coming. John walked in front of his men. "This war will be brothers against brothers. We may all know someone on the other side. But they will shoot you. Don't hesitate or you will end up dead," said John as he walked in front of then and shook each one of their hands.

Seven miles north of the Mouth of the Ohio River
Captain John Brackmen
Captain of I Company

Captain John has his men start the march to follow just in case a messanger was sent. John knew they wernt needed any where anytime soon. So he decided to follow sherman's trail to the Ohio river. They had just ran into the messanger which told them they were seven miles away from the army. "Boys, we double time it, Tell Sherman that we will meet up with him in about a hour to two hours. Have him wait if he can." Said John as he started to round up his men and made them do a joging pace.

After speaking with the messenger telling him to give Brackmen the message that we are camped Sherman saw the scout. He waved him down and asked what regiment he was from. Once Sherman heard that he was with the union and that he was sent to scout. Sherman sent the scout back to the colonel telling him to relay the message that if he is wanting to join Sherman he is welcome to.

Sherman's Camp at the Mouth of the Ohio River
Captain John Brackmen
Captain of I Company

John and I Company had just reached Sherman's camp. They were greeted by other soldiers that were with Sherman's army. "Set up our tents over there. I will go speak to sherman about our arrival," said John as he pointed to a location next to the tables where people were eating. "Since no one is camping on the otherside of that wall put the tents there," said John. Then John walked around until he found Sherman. "General Sherman, I am Captain John Brackmen of I Company were were just informed to link of with you not long ago," said John as he saluted the general.

"At ease Captain. Yes, we can use all the help we can get. We are taking the rivers. Once we have the Ohio we will meet with Grant where the Ohio meets the Mississippi. There we will go south and take as much of the mississippi as we can. What do your men specialize in?"Sherman says sitting in his tent looking through some papers. After a the question he took out his cigar and looked up.

John droped his salute and said, "My men specialize in geathering information, seting ambushes and really anything you need us to do. See the Union took some of the best graduates from diffrent classes and areas of warefare. For instance, I was near the to of my class when I graduated five years ago. I took a officer's course and a stratgey, so when I graduated they grabed me and told me that I was going to be part of a special company that had a bunch of diffrent talents and here we are." Said John as he pulled out at map. "General if you will, I have been to the south before, this river would lead us past our lines and deep into their lines and we be far off from their supplies areas. Which means little supplies unlesss we take them from towns as we go. But if we followed the Ohio to the border of Kentucky and crossed, we would be able to raid Rebels supply depots," said John.

Ohio River 2:12 PM
Once the scout came back he reported of a large force under the command of General Sherman. Allderman had to make a tough decision. After a hour of thought Allderman made the decision of a surprise raid on the camp. The regiment started marching. Once they reached the camp the regiment tried to go incognito the best that they can. They had the camp in their sights.Allderman was hoping this will be a total surprise to the Yanks that they will have no time to prepare. Allderman gave the signals.Ready.Aim.Fire!

"Do not take me as a fool. That would the implied course. We will not be going deep into the south though, and so we are sure that our men do not go unprepared we will have carts crossing bridges to the north. There they will reload on provisions when we need them. They will return at the crossing where we stay. Each major point along the river we will meet with the occupation force. They will protect the port, and control the section of the river. In the end we will have forces along both sides of the river with ships on the water. We will then go to the mississippi and take the major ports there. The union will have all transportation routes, and the rebels will choke from the lack of provisions. The rebel states will be divided, and their imports will be cut off. At this moment a blockade is being put into place. The rebels will have no help from the european powers. The division will not last more than five years I reckon. Even that is a larger number than what I expect if we pull off our strategies."Sherman said with a smile as he smoked his cigar. Sherman smiled when the cry for fire came."Now we have a battle. Men form your ranks. The fly has fallen into our web."He said with a laugh."Fire!"At this some men that were camped in the outskirts rose with ready and loaded weapons and fired down upon the rebels."For the Union!"They cried as men ran out of their tents with muskets ready. The Cavalry mounted their horses and held sabers and pistols. After the first wave of fire the Cavalry ran into the enemy ranks slashing and shooting those in gray.
