Personification Life - IC Part III

The crab shakes it head.

I frowned. "Well, thanks anyway."

Maybe I was losing my touch. I could swear I saw a bit of Deader's aura about the crab, though. I nodded absently at the pair and passed my hand in the air over the crab, de-aging it, by way of thanks.

"Anyway, whats your name?" The girl asks.

"You don't know how deep words can cut sometimes, though. Even if it's not meant honestly, it still hurts. I'm like Bran. I have all this pent up rage that I've been swallowing down ever since I was born. Burying it deep inside me. It sits there, in my subconscious, and festers. The more I endure, the more it grows, and the more comes out when I feel it come back out again." Lidev hugged her knees and put her head on them as she sat. She knew that deep down, Swith had won this battle yet again. Despite her best efforts, she still knew that she couldn't put up much more of a fight. She had been drained. But maybe she could see the light. If what Swith said was true to her, then maybe she could learn to not lash out at everyone with her hate. Maybe.

Swith nodded. "Words cut deeper than physical weapons."

"You know, not too long ago, Naomi went into a psychological meltdown. She was holding in all this pain, and it festered inside her to the point where she snapped. She thought the only way to ease the pain (and the rage caused by it) was to make all the pain happen at once. Long story. What happened was a friend convinced her to let it all out, to vent rather than keep in inside. It took peeling off the scab for all the sick to pour out. She still feels the pain and feels the rage, but she doesn't hold it in until it's overflowing anymore. She keeps the wound clean so it can heal.

"I don't know what would help you with your rage, but you know you have it inside you... that's the biggest step towards figuring a way to manage it. But don't beat yourself up too much over it. You're a demon. Some of that is your nature." She pulled Lidev into a one-armed hug and smiled at her. "You're awesome, as far as demons go."

*Thriller, who seemed to have nodded off, woke up and looked around before equipping his genetic dial and heading out, still in his chinchilla form*

"It's so fluffy... I could DIE!" Naomi shrieked. She'd come down the path with toast in her hands and spotted him leaving his hut.

Lidev lost it completely at Swith's words. She closed the distance between them and pulled her into a full hug as she sobbed uncontrollably into her shoulder.

"Anyway, whats your name?" The girl asks.

I was going to head out, but stopped for a minute. "You can call me Dora."

I shifted my eyes back to their normal pale gray with a feeling like I was plucking out contact lenses with tweezers. Never quite got used to that.

"Clever girl, but you forget, I write the manual. And he hasn't shown up for work for weeks. I can simply decommision him for his slacker behavior." Gretta said narrowing her eyes at Monique. "If you guys needed me you would have called." Fortu argued.

Monique's attitude shifted and her voice took on a stern but professional edge. "Ms. Garbo, do what you must."

"Fortu, I'm prepared to offer double your current pay. This would include four weeks of paid vacation, a 401(k), full health and dental, and Union representation. Your body, of course, isn't your current employer's property ergo we extend protection to it to prevent decommission. We wouldn't be displeased if your current employer chose to retain you by matching this offer."

Swith held Lidev and allowed her to vent her pain. She said nothing, but rocked gently to soothe her.

Ms. Dora?I growled a bit at that. Was I really that old? I thought I had the whole eternal youth thing as a benefit. It had been right there in the contract! Not to mention it was a disrespect to the boss man.

I was just Dora, plain and simple.

Naomi carefully got off the Chinchilla. "You can talk?"

*He was a bit confused at first but realized that not everyone knew of his "watch". He simply smiled at her with his big eyes.* "Of course I can, Naomi."

Lidev leaned out of the hug and looked at Swith. She wiped a few tears from her eyes and their clothes. "First thing tomorrow...we need to go find Bran. Together. We need to show him that we're on good terms." She said.

[Torsiedelle]

Torii patted Lidev on the head.

"Sorry I can't help out, since I'm not really good with emotions and stuff....I'm gonna go rest for a while."

She went back into the hut, laying on the bed for a while.

Oh yeah. I was always forgetting about the people I'd frozen. More tingling, a casual hand-wave, and Torii was released.

Malu looks towards the jungle, a humming noise that could only be heard by her she listens to it, it seemed to be calling her, she walks towards the jungle.

"Please don't think I'm being rude, but I have a human-sized chinchilla to protect. I've left him wandering around the jungle, you see, and NVE will probably eat him despite Naomi discovering him first."

Gretta quietly growled, "I will see that offer and raise him pay with Nazi Gold" She offered. "But that is the exact same pay, only in stolen gold. If I continue to workk for you guys, I want Nonique to be safe, and for you to quit intruding on my personal life." Fortu said. Gretta was now looking angry. "Grrrr...Fine, you win. We can't let you be against us, self-sabotage is the worst threat to our plans. But don't think for a second that I approve of this." She said.

Monique snatched up a notepad and pen and wrote down the terms. "Sign here, Ms. Gretta. I'll see to it that you get the original document once copies have been made. Mr. Fortu, you'll need to sign as well."
