"It's a good name," Swith smiled. "The problem you'll run into is that there are many deities who claim dominion over humanity. I am not one of them. It is so overly complex that individual gods have taken to respecting each other rather than engaging in holy wars with their followers. Currently, the god with the most followers is Elohim. He's not a bad sort, but he's been rather hands-off for a long while. Still, he's powerful... a creation god. His followers are grouped into three sects (we call them the Abrahamic faiths). Many gods have fallen out of fashion with humanity but they still lay claim to them and protect."
She poured out more tea for them. "And then you have gods that concern themselves with other things but still involve themselves with humanity. They have human followers, of course. Their aims aren't so much to protect humanity but to protect the world humanity exists in. And then there are gods of war, gods of peace, gods of creation, gods of pestilence, gods of who knows what... plus kitchen gods, garden gods, luck gods... I really can't keep track of all of them. But if you ask, each of these gods will say that they have prior claim over this planet and humanity. The god that created them will be especially pissed off because, technically, they are his playthings... or children."

The body was human but the head could detach and walk on spiderlike legs. The devices would be mounted on his back and provide life support and electronic to neural interfaces.
OOC: Ah, it's alright. I've been through worse. Remember when I walked out of Bones' frount door when it was detached from reality?
Nessa listened carefully, explaining to the other constructs as Fortu reviewed the designs. They huddled momentarily before Nessa spoke up again. "May we incorporate some of these devices into pockets along your spine? Accessible but easier to wear suits?" They then dropped into an argument with each other over whether his hair should be blonde or black, and whether he should be anatomically correct in order to void, and if he should have enough organic ability to sneeze in order to pass for human.
OOC: As I recall, you made a fun adventure of it!

But not now, we must first find out where he went." "I think that's the point of going to see those death guys." "Shut up and get off of me please." *Superbia got up and Lucius pushed himself up onto his own two feet* "Okay, Dragon Lady, it's been nice meeting you. Hope someday we meet again soon. For now i have to go back to Earth and figure out how he died."
"Good luck you two little rascals!" she waved them off. "Good luck, keep together! And tell my baby girl I said hi!"

She looked at the bored Gio with suspicion, Gio was never like this . . .
"You ok?" She asked genuinely concerned for her (Bran's) friend.

"Ah, therein lies the problem," Swith moaned. "Red tape, so to speak. There's a god war going on, and one small planet is nothing compared to the unraveling of the cosmos. My own greater being is involved with that. It wasn't that none of the others wouldn't help. They couldn't. I was one of the few who was not too occupied, but my request was held up. Had the world ended, it would have been reformed. It's happened before. As you undoubtedly witnessed, all of humanity was restored last night, each soul returned to a reformed body."
"As I said, I'm not a god of humanity. I'm chaos. I like to see things shaken up. From chaos comes order. From confusion comes awareness. I have no problem with you wanting to take on the role of caretaker because that's not my role. You'd have to take it up with those who claim it. I will become a bit miffed if your intention is to spoil my fun, however. And you should know... the only reason you halted the attacks was because my hands were tied. I fully intended to destroy the Drone Empire two million years ago and would have done so if not ordered to sit on my hands."

The Drone Empire wrote:"So recently it would seem they had sprung up.. this Universe is most interesting indeed, so very young and vibrant, yet so much division, chaos.. it is indeed fitting for a being such as you. I am not concerned with these other gods. Try as they might, my defeat is an impossibility, in every sense of the word, there is no single thing they could do to be rid of me. I have seen to it, we have seen to it, though we mean no harm where it is unnecessary."
"In fact, i would hope they come, in so that I may inform them personally of how incorrect they are. Not to be impolite, but if i am to assure that Humanity is sufficiently benefited, they must concede to our set rules and regulations. i mean not to be intrusive upon your kind's business - humanity has done fairly under your watch, but we are here to assure things do not go too far out of line - surely you understand." He said, gesturing to her knowingly as he set his cup down.
