The Toothpick Wars(Open)

Postby Aslp » Mon Oct 15, 2012 4:41 pm

Toothpicks are dangerous. If you think about it, they're superior to paintballs.

They're aerodynamic, and if they're metal-coated, they can go very far. You can tip them with poison, set them on fire, and giant toothpicks can cause a nasty splinter. People in a dystopian era realized this, and used the excessive scrap metal from fallen sky scrapers to make Toothpick weaponry. These weapons rebuilt the economy by recreating business, jobs, but there was a negative; it gave out hundreds of weaponry to the public, and this created gangs.

Those gangs grew into militias, and those militias advanced into country-wide factions. Those country-wide factions began to fight; the Toothpick Wars began.

Weapon Types

Guns: Usually a handgun, gravity fed clip, and uses cheap, weak, small toothpicks. Usually powered by a motor and 2 AA batteries.

Tasers: Fires a mass of weights and wires. Shots spread, and can immobilize most encountered enemies.

Bows: A length of wood with a strong string attached. Fires long, armor piercing toothpicks, and goes further than a gunshot.

Air Cannons: Fires a huge spike of wood, very dangerous, and is powered by an air compressor.
______________________

Depending on the wood and size of toothpick, they do different things.

Oak, Holly, and Yew: All-around wood, good for just about anything.

Pine: Good for bows and insulation, but not standard ammunition(Regular toothpicks)

Willow: Good for bows, but not standard ammunition.

Hickory: Best for ammo and close-quarters weapons, but not much else.

Iron Wood: Great for ammo and defenses, but is hard to come by.
______________________

Most weapons won't be very advanced, except for air-cannons.

Keep the size of your weapon in mind.

One, a wooden knife is a pointed piece of wood. The only two differences between regular toothpick and a wooden knife is that a toothpick is smaller and does NOT include a steep inclined plane.

Two, An arrow is a giant toothpick with feathers.

Three, this is a dystopian era. Wood is the most abundant material, and pretty much all the metal was put into building sky-scrapers; it would be easier to just use the natural materials.

And stone is not? Guy, I usually don't make fun of the OP'ers, but the first thing someone is gonna do in this rp is pulling out anything bigger than a little toothpick and it will go into stone age weapons, easy to find.

The only way your RP may work is to deny the existence of stone...you see where I'm going with this?

I see where you're going, but what would you use to mine the stone? Stone that you mined up? I'm assuming you used stone to mine that stone as well. Even after that, how would you shape the stone if you didn't have stone to shape the stone with? You'd have to mine the stone without the stone you mined up. You'd have to have wood before you'd have stone, and stone harder to form than wood. If you tried to make a bow out of stone, it wouldn't work very well, and it's heavier than wood.

Methinks the OP has been playing too much Minecraft.
Signatures are so 2014.
