Yes, I know IRL that the Chinese do not share a common culture with the Dayaks, but after ten years of living, coexisting, and civilizing them, we can make a semi-claim about that. In addition, they're certainly more closely related to the Chinese/Southeastern nations than the Europeans.

It's called diplomatic license. You, as King, would not know exactly the ethnic or cultural composition of the inhabitants of Borneo, nor would every ambassador there. My diplomat is taking a half-fake claim and spinning it up so it sounds impressive.

Btw, make sure it's justified IC. Currently, it looks like the Sicilians hate the Anhks, the Mideonans are doing their own thing, and the Franks are dying left, right and center. An alliance would be a bit confusing at the time----the JAL was formed in response to European encroachment on Asian countries. Not objecting to the existence of a European alliance, just mentioning.

hey I thought it was the Central European Aliance (CEA) (also it means we can shorten it so when we talk about Asia we say The League and when we talk about Europe we say The Alliance)

In practice there is some friction between Anhk-Sicilian relationships, but we're still allied, and as Palerno said, we still want to be allies.
