"My boyfriend gave that to me a few years back . . ."

She handed the spare flight jacket to her.

" . . . Here, I don't need this anymore."

"You carry around a picture of a child you don't know? Well, she knows you. Look at her expression." Naomi smiled. "Very pretty. We don't have children... Swith doesn't like the noise. She thinks they should remain quietly under a lid until revealed for supper."

She brushed her bangs out of her eyes and became pensive.

"No need, I expect nothing in return for good deeds."

Bone Fort wrote:"Don't worry, I'm sure you won't be dying anytime soon."

She looked up at the man standing before her.

"It's just an old tradition, during World War 1 and the Great patriotic war; the mortality rate was so high that Pilots began giving their jackets to childeren to keep. In case their body couldn't be found in the event of being shot down."

The Demon and User walked in through the front door and immediately went up the stairs to the left. Inside the laundromat it was fairly quiet. There was a back room ahead and a couple locked doors, but that was as much as could be seen from the entrance.

"Well yeah, it doesn't look like I'll be flying anywhere for a while now."

She glanced at the smoldering ruins outside.

Bran walked in behind the duo and stood there looking around the seemingly normal building.

"Oh well, at least you aren't dead. And I'm pretty sure you'll fly again one day. Just have faith."

"An honorable thing," said Giovenith. "But here."

She gave her another hug, but this one was different. It seemed to shoot warmth into her limbs, and she became overwhelmed with brief flashing visions of meadows, sunshine, happiness, and any other images that brought joy. She felt ten feet tall, small and protected like a newborn babe, all at once. Then Giovenith let go, and the images slowly faded away, like gently waking from a dream.

" I know who she is, she's my daughter. When I said I wish I knew I was referring to the fact that I never really had the chance to see her full potential."

She brushed her bangs out of her eyes and became pensive.

Amaryllis just sat back, amazed by the visions that were playing out in her mind.

"Whoa . . . That was . . . Nice."

Naomi's eyes widened. "Thriller! I didn't know you had a daughter." Her smile was radiant. "I've always thought of you as just a cyborg, you know... impervious to trifling things like love, wives and family."

Her eyes lowered and she added, "I didn't realize she wasn't... that she was gone. I'm sorry."

"Gio, you truly are a flower here amongst us weeds. People like you give me hope."

The User looked behind her as they entered an office and held Bran outside. "This is private, sorry." She said. Before she shut the door, Bran could only catch a glimpse of a man in the room as well. Suddenly, a fit of laughter came from downstairs in the back room. Clearly, they were not the only ones in the building.

"Ok then, I'm used to red tape . . ."

Bran just stood there looking out a window at the abandoned city.

". . . There's more than a few places like this back home."

"Hey bud you awake"
As the blobs acidicly cleans up the bottles primordial picks up dimitri

"Say What?"

Bran turned around expecting a barrel to be pointed at his back in a cliche' fashion.
