Introduction
"The year is 1987 and the only thing hotter than the weather in Burkina Faso is its political climate. Thomas Sankara, the Marxist who ended the exploitation of his country has been assassinated and replaced in a coup by his close friend and former comrade, Blaise Campaore. Campaore has set up a shallow democratic regime full of puppets. With this shift in power came the tides of an even bigger revolution. Followers of Sankara have formed a band of rebels opposed to the government, Soviet backed communist are fighting a guerrilla war against all sides, an Islamic based insurgency of Fulani's is making a play for power aswell. European based corporations seek to exploit the nations state of weakness and steal their resources. The people of this country hide in their homes as gunfire becomes an almost daily part of life, most wonder if when the gun smoke clears, will they be better off, or better off dead."
Many soldiers and mercenaries fought at died in all of the African bush wars but only a few individuals who steered the course of events are remembered today, people like Bob Denard and Mike Hoare. Some are more notable than others. The path of a soldier isn’t the only route as there will be journalist and aid workers from the UN there as well. This rp is a focus on the individuals as well as the action.
