We are not a hostile state, I dont even know where you who say we are read that? We are Germanized Slavs who fear assimliation but still love our German brother.

Man, you are right in a land dispute between Prussia and Poland, which has expanded to include Russia and France. I think your little nation is actually the root cause of the problem, as the person who played Prussia previously gave it away for free before the current Prussian came along.

If anything, why don't you be Bavaria and slowly expand to counter the influence of Prussia? That always seems like the logical choice as a counter-German state, but it's your nation, not mine.

If Prussia peacfully allows the seperation of a Germanized Slavic state it would act as a PR move for Prussia. Not to mention it would give Prussia a slavic ally and someone who could conduct diplomatic relations with other slavic states for Prussian intrests. I would like to think of myself as a Prussian puppet state, similar to Croatia and German relations in WW2. I also would like to play Lusatia cause it has never came to be. It would be cool to RP it.

Hmm. That might actually work.

1. Prussia is in need of allies, and with you on his east, he'll off-balance Poland and Russia as Slavic allies since you'll be right next to him
2. The Slavs will be joyous to see other Slavic nation come to be, even if it is a Germanized puppet.

To be quite honest with you all, I would prefer to just remain independent and not a part of New Russia. It sounds quite intresting though. Lusatian Slavs (Sorbs and Wends) have always maintained healthy relationships with Germans and veiw them as their brother. Russia always fights our big brother so I dont think that relationship could ever work out. Once agian Imagine us as the Croatians in WW2. We are loyal and will fight to the death agianst slavs, or whoever else threatens us or our Prussian brothers.

Mexico, your colonial civilian to military population is more than 2:1 you will need almost daily supply shipments to sustain this.

I have been a bit worried about your Panama Canal construction - you know it is going to be a bitch to go through due to the continental divide and the lack of dynamite, right? Not to mention the expenses, the disease, death of workers, and lack of Atlantic-Pacific trade currently. In 1780, trade around Cape Horn wasn't really that important since there wasn't much to do there. However, US expansion to the Pacific made it vital to have quick sea access and increased trade with China and Japan. Currently, with New Russia sitting on-top of the Western US and Mexico (you) having a shorter distance to cover East to West, I don't think it would be beneficial until much later.

And on top of that, why go Panama? There was consideration for one inside of Mexico: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isthmus_of_Tehuantepec

As well as one in Nicaragua: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicaragua_Canal

That way if you ever lose those possessions, you still have your Mexican Canal. Or all three, and have a monopoly on Atlantic-Pacific Trade.

Fun.

They've been allied with the British,, French and Portugese since the 1500s. Youll need an incentive beyond taking their land to achieve this.

Allowing them to keep some of their land and not massacring them?

Yes, becuase your fifty settlers could have totally massacred them, then your vast land force of two hundred men could easily destroy the entire isle of tribesmen armed by European traders.
Why they be ur friend?

EDIT: they're not afraid of you and they already trade with other nations, what makes you their ally?

We tell them scary stories about how Turkey and Spain and England and France and Russia ship people like them into foreign countries as slaves and how they abuse American Indians or Indians or Central Asians or Arabs or Aboriginies and Maoris and other native people's and then tell them that we're not five star assholes like that and how we'll treat them like humans?

And take the massacre statement with a thing called "context". When foreign settlers moved into an area, they generally didn't get along with the natives. Ever heard of Wounded Knee? What about Kanpur? Ever wondered why there are no surviving Tasmanian aboriginals? That's why.

Except... The Malagasy gained huge benifits from Europeans. They were known for their manipulation of Europe and rapid modernization. Besides, if you really treated them like humans, you wouldn't be colonizing them, otherwise known as stealing their land. I'm just saying GIVE them a reason beyond "we won't kill you" when you couldn't kill them if you tried.

Notice that a famine's going to begin in the colonies? The Malagasy will get ungrateful for us having to eat their food and they'll kill several of the colonists, which will start a small war that will result in peace between the Malagasy and Mexicans so that several of the tribal princes can survive. And then we''ll arrive in force. Those that are friendly will be allowed to keep most of their land and rulers as long as they stay loyal to Mexico and will be compensated for land taken and Madagascar will even be given a nonvoting representative in Mexico City. Those that attack us we'll try to defeat without slaughtering unless they do something really fucking nasty to us.

No I didn't I never said that. I had a small problem with how many men were dying, but I had NO problem. But I think that is acceptable. And I will actively role play my men dying. Which is a sad thing to say... But hey.

I'm American, man. That's all we remember George III. Not for the loss of Sophia, not for his acceptance of our independence, not for the insanity; for what was said about him in the Declaration.
