How is it inferior to the Glock? The 1911 proved itself on the street and the battelfield as well as the field of competition.

Glocks are more durable, cheaper, more reliable, easier to disassemble and clean and hold way more ammo. A Glock-21 holds like 12 rounds of .45 in a regular sized magazine. An M1911 can hold like, maybe 9 rounds in an EXTENDED magazine. It's sort of a running joke in the self-defense shooting world (at least the harder core side of it) that n00bs use 1911s in SERPA holsters.

The M1911 design is great. SWAT and Special operations use the Kimberly Custom which is based off the 1911 design.
