New World: The Founding Age (OOC/ Signups)

Postby Royal Britannia » Wed Sep 26, 2012 2:49 pm

Founding Age

0-200

The world is teeming with life. As the human race begins to emerge as the dominant species on the planet, primitive nation states are formed. Each tribe is different, rich in culture and eager to make its mark on the world. Primitive weapons and dwellings begin to spread, and soon tribes grow bigger and bigger. This is the founding age of the New World.

With so much potential for power, for wealth, you are tasked with raising a tribe, a civilisation of people, through this age and into prosperity for the future. Will you be a warmonger, or a peacemaker? The world is fresh and ready for your tribe. Do you have what it takes to make it to the top?

This is the first part of a new role-play series entitled “New World.” You will take the reins of a primitive new tribe, and build it into an empire for the world to marvel at. Each age will be set at a number of pages (at the OPs discretion) before the world moves forward into the next age, bringing your nation into a new setting. Will you survive to become a world power by modern times, or will your small tribe of people fall before nations even come to exist?

Summary of Tribal culture:
Plans for this era:

1) No Godmodding (obviously ;) )
2) No jumping to the next tech level early on in the RP.
3) Posts must be at least a paragraph long, or will be disregarded.
4) No flaming, trolling etc.
5) OOC's go in the OOC thread!
6) The three strike policy shall be enforced (break the rules three times, and you're out).

Tribe Name: Barabian
Tribal population: 5,900
Flag:
Image

Map claim: (As above)
Summary of Tribal culture:

The Barabian tribe is based loosely on the Celtic and Pagan traditions of the oldest of humans on New Earth. A war like tribe by nature, they are little more than hunting nomads. Although at first travelling around the continent for food and the like, the Barabian’s have built the foundations of a small civilisation on the coast line, establishing a primitive form of border that marks out its territory. Ready to wage war in order to spread its land claim, the Barabian’s are seen as brave warriors, despite their primitive weaponry and lack of a de facto leader.

Plans for this era:

- Territory expansion in order to spread the glory of the Barabian tribe.
- Increasing population through conquest of neighbouring tribes.
- Pioneer seafaring through the invention of rafts and primitive fishing techniques.

"Power is a curious thing...Three great men, a king, a priest, and a rich man. Between them stands a common sellsword. Each great man bids the sellsword kill the other two. Who lives, who dies? Nope, sorry. This is only a tribe of 7,000 people, and so the starting land is going to be small. It's the case for everyone :)

There is, of course, no limit to conquests to expand your territory once the round begins :p

Tribe Name: City-State of Anhk-Durnik
Tribe Population: 11,200
Flag/Emblem: FLAG!!
Map Claim: MAP!!!! btw i would like regular red
Summary of Tribal Culture: Worship the 100 Gods (similar to Roman Gods). Architecture is mainly marble and great temples fill the land for the Glory of the God. The Kings obsession with power and wealth has brought the nation forward over the other tribes of the area. The city of Anhk-Durnik is ornate and has a population of 7,000, housing over half the population. Thinking is the new thing within the nation and the King hopes that this shall bring the tribe forward and establish a grander civilisation.
Plans for the Era: Build up the capital of Anhk-Durnik and build an army. Take a large are of land and hopefully make contact with other nations. Improve life for the people and become the centre of civilisation.

Until I can think of a better name I'm just going to call it the Island of Halleon, lol maybe it makes my tribe feel like we have a right to own all of the island.
