Star Wars: The Reimagining (IC)

Postby Zemkal » Mon Sep 24, 2012 1:41 pm

Thirty years have passed since the end of the Clone Wars.

Thirty years of hutning down rebellions, thirty years of assasination attempts, thirty years of sorrow for some and power for others. Emporer Palpatine's creation of the Death Star and simaltanious destruction of the moon base Mustafar have scared the galaxy straight. The five years since have been almost peaceful on Coruscant, with the Death Star doing random searches of systems. The weak points upon the structure, which might have once brought it down, have since been built upon, and sabotage attempts have lead to the destruction of three more planets, Mustafar, Aldaraan, and Dantooine.

But the grip on the galaxy was sure to slip away eventually, and the mysterious death of the Imperial Enforcer and right hand of the Emporer, Darth Vader, have opened new possibilites. Surviving rebel leaders take hope that the schism in Imperial control may give them a chance to rebuild and regroup, while those walking a darker path see fit too use the schism to grow more powerful within the Empire. Perhaps a figurehead, or a new hope, can take down the Empire, or maybe the shadow of the Imperial fleet will rise from these hard tmes and retake their grip on the Galaxy as a whole.

But perhaps none of this matters, as an even darker threat may lay on the horizon, just outside the known galaxy...
"That's one thing about roleplaying games. You can be in them for the long haul. And you can put them on hiatus for various reasons - people move away, go to university, get married, get a job, have kids, other unimportant stuff that gets in the way - and still come back to them at any point in the future, and the gameplay will be just as good as you remember it. It won't feel outdated."

Dralin Velros,
Hermit in the Woods,
Shadowlands, Kashyyyk

Dralin sat outside her timeless hut, two Ryyyk Blades and a Bowcaster leaning on her hammock.

A Wookiee approuched through the mists, a large Bowcaster drapped across his back. <Dralin? Where the hell are you? I can't see a sodding thing down here.>

"Here, Tyrvona." said Dralin, clearing the kst with a wave of her hand. "What news do you bring?"

<Darth Vader is dead.>

Dralin's mouth hung open for a moment. She had felt something powerful through the force, as if a powerful entity had somehow left.... but it had not felt evil.

"This... changes much." Dralin said, standing, her hide made cloak falling down to her knees.

<Yes. But I would guess not for you, though, huh?>

Dralin paced for a moment. If she wer what she was thirty years ago, yes, it would have meant something, but the path she followed now...

"I'm not entirely sure, to be honest." she admitted to the large female Wookiee, a descendant of her Jedi Master, Tyvokka. "i need to meditate on this."

<Fine, fine, meditate!> growled Tyrvona. <You do that while the Galaxy readies for change, always the same with you!>

Dralin smiled a moment. Tyrvona, while not being acute to the force, was an incredibly wise Wookiee for her age. She just needed to learn the value of patience.

Dralin entered the hut, a hut that had stood for longer than four centuries, and walked past her beddings to a small holocron on her table. She picked it up, and a figure appeared. That of an ancient Jedi, but one who followed a greyer path than those she had grown up with.

"Malak is a tyrant who should be stopped. If he conquers the galaxy we're in for a couple of rough centuries. Eventually it'll come around again, but I'd rather not wait that long. So we do what we have to do, and we try to stop the Sith. But don't start thinking this war—your war—is more important than any other war just because you're in it." it said, as Dralin looked into it.

Dropping the holocron into her pocket, Dralin began to gather a few things from her room. She would need tranportation soon.

For the first time in over thirty years, she was leaving Kashyyyk.
Coruscant, Lower Depths

Kilo trudged around the lower depths of Coruscant, avoiding the drunks, punks and gamblers as they rushed on with their pointless lives. He stood out among the crowd, being quite tall while wearing his old ARC armour, it told the thugs that he was not someone to be messed with and told potential employers that he was the best of the best. His armour was old, heavy and dented in many places but he had a certain love for it. This love stopped him from upgrading to the newer, stormtrooper armour and had eventually caused him to leave the Empire.

His former brothers had become brutal killers, the 501st enjoyed their status as Vaders Fist though it disgusted him to think of it. Most of the old ARC had not fit in well with the Empire, thinking was what they were specially bred to do and it begged a lot of questions out of him.

He jumped out of the way just in time as a crashing speeder flew down past him, hammering into the ground and skidding to a halt. A Corellian flew out of the cockpit before it burst on fire, screaming and trying to put out the flames. He continued on with his journey, eventually finding a small bar that he could relax in.

Hawk Node
Coruscant

Hawk rose from his slumber to the noise of 10 screams. He looked out the window of his hotel room down at his old ship. It was in flames. Of Course it was, He planned it that way. His crew was now burning alive in what was a Nabooian freighter. Now he was stuck on Coruscant. Just as he wanted. He put on his Captain's uniform and walked out of the hotel with a smile. Hawk headed down to a local pub looking for a job. He thought about the types of jobs he would do. Assassination, Theft, Hostage, Uprisings, All of these ideas pleased him. He had one goal though. To catch the attention of the emporer so he could teach him the one thing he needed to know. The way of the sith. He had been stopped at the door of the bar because the bouncer thought he was too small. The bouncer was easily disposed of by a simple force push into a nearby dumpster.

Valley of the Sith lords, Korriban

Darth Corruptus the last of the true sith species looked meditated in his darkened retreat. The tomb of Ajunta Pall held many secrets he knew this he could sense this. The dark side flowed strong in this place and here he regained his energy. While at the same time he hoped to recieve an ephiphany from the long gone but still great Sith lord. He had been left to rot before he'd been betrayed before and he'd always felt alone. The Massassi that had raised him true were loyal and of Sith blood but they were now inbred as a lack of a gene pool exsisited. As for the betrayals he'd endured over the centuries there were many. first when his mother left him. Then when the traitor Kaan had used him. And finally the false dark Lord Sidious whom dared imprison the last of the true Sith.

Upon emerging from the tomb Corruptus found his troop of Massassi awaiting him as usual. here they had camped in this vallry. Here they hid. The Jedi had fallen that was about the only good news that they had otherwise they were fugitives. undoubably Darth Sidious or Emperor Palpatine as he called himself was hunting them. Corruptus was however ready for the foolish Sith here the dark side fed him nourished him and made him strong enough to continue with his experiments. The experiments were of much variety some were the crews and passangers of vessels he'd lured here others were the monsters that inhabited this forboding world. Through Sith magic he'd transformed them into horrible creatures loyal only to him. However as he looked up at the skies of Korriban from behind his blackened robes and mask Corruptus sensed something stirring. He sensed another Sith not Sidious but another . He smiled perhaps he was not so alone after all.

Small Bar, Coruscant

Kilo turned back to the entrance as he heard a commotion, apparently the bouncer had decided to pick on the wrong guy. His smile was hidden under his helmet, though revealed as he pulled it off and set it on the table. He waved over the barkeep and said "I'll have some Ale". He heard the people behind him saying that the bouncer had been pushed into a dumpster, this almost set him off laughing but he managed to control himself.

small bar, coruscant

Hawk walks in with a straight face wearing a nabooian captains uniform. He is shorter than most of the people in the bar but has a dark presence about him. He walks around asking about jobs. All turn him down thinking he is not what they need. He then gets to the bar and sits by Kilo. He orders ale and looks at kilo with his cold, dark eyes. "Would you have a job for me stranger?"Hawk says right before downing the mug of ale in one gulp.

Small Bar, Coruscant

Kilo looks up at his new companion, a rather short fellow wearing some nabooian outfit. He stares at him blankly and says "A job for you? Not likely, I have nothing to accomplish and no money to accomplish it", before returning to his ale.

Dralin Velros,
Hermit in the Woods,
Imperial Landing Zone, Kashyyyk

Dralin watched as a band of Wookiees attacked the Imperial controlled port in the trees of Kashyyyk.

She was amazed at the turn out when Tyvrona had asked for a quick raid on the Stormtrooper base. It was all a distraction so that Dralin could steal a frigate, but the Wookiees appeared equipped to take the entire landing zone.

Using the force to cloak herself, Dralin slowly made her way to the parked fighters. None of the TIE Fighters would do her any good at all, considering they didn't have hyperspace capabilities, but she knew something small here had to be around to allow her to get out quick.

As an explosion sounded on the other side of the platform, Dralin found a Z-95 Headhunter sitting alone on the docking bay. A Trooper was leaving its cockpit, and Dralin took that chance to take him out. Pulling her modified Bowcaster from her back, she let off a single, low powered shot, that cleared straight through the distracted troopers head.

Making a break for it, and pulling out one of her Ryyyk Blades, dralin slit the throat of the Trooper that had been yelling orders at the pilots, before hopping in the Z-95. After a few minutes of tinkering, she started up the engines, and the Z-95 began to climb.

As she looked down, she could see an AT-ST giving the Wookiees problems, and beating them back. Thinking a moment, she decided that she would have to do one last thing for this planet she watched over. Setting the firing mechanism to proton torpedoes, Dralin let out three shots, taking the AT-ST right out of the equation.

Dralin continued her ascent unscathed. As shen cleared the atmosphere, she took one final look at the planet that had been her home most of her adult life, then set in coordinates for Dagobah.

She had a feeling that help may be found there. And, perhaps, even guidance.

Corruptus could sense yet another ship approaching with that he activated the emergency transponder. A gift from the last batch of fools that had come to this world he smiled. They would come he knew it he sensed it. However he still couldn't shrug off the feeling of that dark power he sensed. It wasn't Palpatine he could sense that snake anyweres. No this this was different this was a new power. Whomever it was perhaps Corruptus should investigate. The Massassi were plenty thanks to their extended stay here on Korriban. They had several ships. And he also wished to find out information which came so slowly here. That was due to the absence of the Hollonet in the system. A curse of living so deep in the Outer Rim he reminded himself.

"Do you know of anyone that would have a job? I am not interested in the money I just want my name out there. I have specific...abilities. You saw what I did to the bouncer. I could easily do that and much more to any target unless it is the emporer of course. I could use some help though with small details of course. What do you say, Partners?"Hawk says holding out his hand ready for a handshake.

Rezik quickly moves down the lower slums of Coruscant. He was drawn here for some reason, he seemed to be good idea to make landfall on the city planet, but now that e was actually here, he had completely forgetten what has drawn him to the Imperial Center, as the Imperial government called it. An rather bland name, but meaningful.

He noticed an man in stormtrooper armor, - specialist type, by the looks of it moving into the bar. He shrugged, he probably was an scavanger that found it on an corpse in an alleyway, judging from all the dents and nicks in it. Of course another man tried to get into the small, seedy bar - only to be stopped by an large humanoid bouncer. With an smirk, he threw the bouncer into the dumpster easily, seemingly without touching him. An impossible feat for someone his size.

An force user perhaps? He doubted someone so arrogrant as to use his powers infront of an bar full of lyers and cheaters would say undetected by the Imperial Guard for so long. Or perhaps he was good enough to defeat the Imperials or avoid detection anyways?

He cloaked his force abilities mentally ( more then usual, at least ) and headed into the bar after the man. His hands in his robes, and an cloak covering his face, he ordered an non alocholic beverage with an grunt. He took the juice, and sat down an seat apart from the apparent force user and scavenger. He took an sip, looking downwards, appearing to be minding his own business, but in reality using the force to amplify his hearing and listen into their converstation.
I am from the United States, just so you know.

The ship slowly landed on Korriban Corruptus was waiting. His Massassi were hidden for now.It was a passenger liner. For the less fortunate of the world. Then the doors opened and the boarding ramp was lowered. Corruptus then frowned something didn't feel right. Two crewers soon descended "Hey heres one of them!" the man ran forward. He was a Zelosian by the looks of him however as he approached Corruptus once more felt a tremor this wasn't right. Then the man stopped "Hey are you one of the survivors of the Andromena Express?" he asked. Thyen another few crewers descended however thats when he saw the blaster under one of their robes. He merely nodded the man then smiled "Then no one will be looking for you!"he then whipped out a blaster but Corruptus was quicker igniting hisd lightsaber he sliced the man in half. The "Blast him!!"the others cried as they revealed their weapons to easy he smiled as he deflected the bolts stricking down yet another. Then the ships turret sprang into action Pow!! It fired sending Corruptus flying back.

He quickly recovered slavers he noted as a group charged fourth one with a submission collar. "You dare face a Sith!!" he demanded before leaping forwardf with great ferocity hacking and slashing as he went. Some put up a fight trying to blast him others others cried for mercy. he would kill them all.

Dralin came out of hyperspace near the Dagobah System, prepared to go see where she was once told that master Yoda was in hiding. Her curiosity turned to fear when she saw an Imperial Dreadnaught in orbit around the planet.

Before she could react, a hailing frequency opened on her display. Well, at least they thought that she was one of them.

"Sierra 928, what are your orders in this system?" the call came over her channel. Dralin used the force, to the best of her ability, to disguise her voice. "I'm here on official business from Kashyyyk." she said, trying to impart her will over such a great distance. "Its need to know."

"Right." said the comms officer on the other side, sleepily. "Need to know. Got it. You have full access to the planet. Just stay away from these quandrants, theres... resistance from a denizen of the planet."

As the coordinates popped up, Dralin brought the Z-95 into a dive through the planets atmosphere.

"So..." Dralin mumbled to herself. "... you do yet live, Master Yoda."

Corruptus quicklly finished with the last of the slavers. His Massassi hadn't been needed. One then stepped forward. "My lord how did they find us?" he questioned Corruptus frowned from behind his mask he honestly didn't know if this was a Imperial plan or something else. "Check the ship find any information and as for the surviviors take them to the lab. "But of course my lord." the Massassi bowed before backing off. Corruptus however was deep in thought did Sidious know if he was here? That was the question at hand. He would return to the tombs soon perhaps his ancestors words of wisdom would guide him to a solution. With that he walked off towards his labs there were many things to do.
