Bump means I was moving it to the front page, so it didn't get lost. The RP can begin on Sunday; I want to wait one more day to see if I can get a rogue.

Yeah, I'm still looking myself. What about someone playing two characters? Or will you play it as an NPC?

I may have to. I'd rather not, but I will if necessary.

I can play a rogue, it'll give me an excuse to dust off my PHB. Before I make my character though, I'd like to know how we plan on going about playing. Will we be using a chatroom or the forums? I've never played D&D over the internet before so I'm curious.

I'm posting from my phone so I'll post an update in a couple hours with my sheet.

Do as you wish with your feats, but don't choose your equipment yet. We'll do that when the RP gets underway, either later today, or tomorrow at latest.

Marking passages so you don't get lost?

This, as well as
- scribbling down plans.
- grinding it into powder to detect invisible foes.
- using it as a base to neutralize acids.
- grinding it into powder to prep hands for climbing.
- an effective cure for heartburn/stomach problems.
- various forms of crafting, to mark measurements.
- an alchemical component, or a spell component.
- grinding it into powder to blind foes, either manually or via trap creation.

Chalk comes in packs of 10 per 1cp, so our groups have always had one free pack to start campaigns. I'm fine with paying for it (if we're doing it that way), but I'd just like chalk. It's pretty much the most useful tool (especially if I'm going to be a rogue).

I figure I'll buy a torch, some leather armor, and a claymore. How much does that come out too, DM?

So the starting kit you gave us weighs a total of 25 lbs. My light load is 30 lbs. With the current gear I've gathered I'm at ~50 lbs, and I'm running on the bare minimum here. I can't really invest too much more since once I pass 60 lbs I hit my heavy load. Is there anything that you really, strongly recommend that I get, or is there any tricks you can perform to lighten the load a bit? Maybe loan the weak, squishy Rogue a spare Heward's Handy Haversack? If it's a no (which I expect), then this is my final gear list.

200gp

Padded Armor 5gp
Thieves' Tools 30gp
Rapier 20gp
Buckler 15gp
Light Crossbow 35gp
10 Bolts 1gp
10 Chalk 1sp

83gp left (weighs 1.66 lbs)
9sp left (weighs 0.18 lbs)

30 lbs or less
1 Bedroll 5 lbs
1 Backpack 2 lbs
1 Belt Pouch 0.5 lbs
1 Flint and Steel 0 lbs
1 Hooded Lantern 2 lbs
3 pts Oil 3 lbs
7 Trail Rations 7 lbs
1 Sack 0.5 lbs
1 Waterskin 4 lbs
1 Whetstone 1 lbs
1 Thieves' Tools 1 lbs
1 Padded Armor 10 lbs
1 Buckler 5 lbs
1 Rapier 2 lbs
1 Light Crossbow 4 lbs
10 Bolts 1 lbs
10 Chalk 0 lbs
1 Steel Mirror 0.5 lbs

Total: 48.5 lbs + 1.68 lbs + 0.18 lbs (51.36 lbs)

You've covered it all and then some (although someone might want to get a grappling hook). If you all want to, once you're all assembled, you can pool resources, and distribute the load a little more evenly.

I'm willing to buy 50 feet of silk rope and a grappling hook if someone else is willing to carry it for me. I'm also adding a steel mirror to my item list.

I can carry a lot, if you want to have Arbok do that.

Yeah, I've never been one to not take the DM's advice. Once we meet up I'll have Iva pass it to you.
