You know what, after playing through some of the campaign in Arma 3 I figure something like that could make a decent plot for a military RP.

Near future, NATO is helping Greece fight an insurgency on one of their islands. Meanwhile there's a powerful coalition of Middle Eastern, North African and Central Asian nations who go to war with NATO/EU and attack Greece. NATO troops are stranded on the island as it gets further and further behind the frontline and have to resort to fighting a guerrilla war to survive.

I might join, but good luck getting many other people to. They are very picky here.

So, I have been working on rough drafts for an RP centered around Margaret Peterson Haddix's Shadow Children Books. It would take place during the famines mentioned. Would anyone be interested.

Hence why I mentioned Arma 3 in the post. I'm leaving out the part where Greece randomly decides to attack NATO though.

I honestly don't know, I'm just trying to do a straight ripoff of what some Czech game developers came up with. I could change the setting to something a little more logical though, like a Chinese lead coalition attacking somewhere in southeast Asia, leading to the same scenario of NATO troops cut off behind enemy lines and fighting a guerrilla war.

When I talk about a lack of realism, I'm talking about when there's constant gunfire and explosions and everyone is a navy seal sniper in the marines with a Barrett .50 cal. Having realism in an illogical setting is still possible, just as having a lack of realism in a logical setting is possible.

I remember a good portion of the overall world that Haddix created, trust me. The biggest issue, as Nat and Prospect pointed out earlier, is that only a small portion of people probably know what the series is about. You'd be better off trying to make an original RP that combines elements from several book/TV series than trying to make one about a series nobody has heard of.
