Near future, NATO is helping Greece fight an insurgency on one of their islands. Meanwhile there's a powerful coalition of Middle Eastern, North African and Central Asian nations who go to war with NATO/EU and attack Greece. NATO troops are stranded on the island as it gets further and further behind the frontline and have to resort to fighting a guerrilla war to survive.

I might join, but good luck getting many other people to. They are very picky here.

So, I have been working on rough drafts for an RP centered around Margaret Peterson Haddix's Shadow Children Books. It would take place during the famines mentioned. Would anyone be interested.

Hence why I mentioned Arma 3 in the post. I'm leaving out the part where Greece randomly decides to attack NATO though.

I'm left to wonder what they have to gain in Greece.

And also when the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia stopped that whole "killing each other" thing to pick on it.

I honestly don't know, I'm just trying to do a straight ripoff of what some Czech game developers came up with. I could change the setting to something a little more logical though, like a Chinese lead coalition attacking somewhere in southeast Asia, leading to the same scenario of NATO troops cut off behind enemy lines and fighting a guerrilla war.

Not really. The people who post in this thread tend to be, though.

I don't think that franchise has much brand appeal here.

How so? It has everything Riots, Secrets, Conspiracies, a Totalitarian Government, and a hint of war.

In the sense that I've never heard of that book series until you told me, and I don't think I'm alone in that.

It's less a matter of content or quality as it is brand recognition.

I.E. n one has ever heard of it.

When I talk about a lack of realism, I'm talking about when there's constant gunfire and explosions and everyone is a navy seal sniper in the marines with a Barrett .50 cal. Having realism in an illogical setting is still possible, just as having a lack of realism in a logical setting is possible.

As a few others have stated before, not a whole lot of people here know what the book series is. I've read the books before, but don't remember shit about anything specific that went on in them.

I remember a good portion of the overall world that Haddix created, trust me. The biggest issue, as Nat and Prospect pointed out earlier, is that only a small portion of people probably know what the series is about. You'd be better off trying to make an original RP that combines elements from several book/TV series than trying to make one about a series nobody has heard of.

Just a suggestion.

RP Name: High Summer Sun
RP Creator: The Pseudo-Democratic States of the Doge ((ME))
Type (Character, Nation, Faction):Character
Genre/s: 1990s Bone County Sheriff's Department RP
Detailed Description: It's June, 1993. After a spike in crime in surrounding the surrounding counties of Las Venturas and Los Santos, San Andreas has become mostly crime-ridden. With San Fierro having its fair share of economic problems, many, in and outside of San Andreas, have turned to Bone County as one of the last beacons of safety. With the population rising by almost two-hundred percent in the past three years, the Bone County Sheriff's Department is having a tough time coping with the massive influx of people. Unfortunately, Bone County is now also being consumed by the 90's "Drug Rage", seeing a mass influx of new criminals as well. That's where you come in. As a Deputy of the Fort Carson Precint, you have been assigned to combat crime in this rapidly changing city. Will you stand next to the law, shielding it from harm? Or will you become consumed by the engulfing fires of crime and drugs? The county's your oyster. What you choose to do is up to yourself. ((More info is in the link))
