I've seen in 2 weeks lots of good ideas, and half of them went down in 4-5 days of IC. What this misses is a way to truly help the OPers meets their RPers. And I'm not talking about the registry, I already know that the idea is good but right now too complicate to work effectively.
One of the major things that happens is that people don't search for new RP, especially if they have to go over page 2. And the actual number of IC is plenty enough to kill everything. We need a way to make possible for an OP to advertise, maybe something like the register but closed, where the OP send a telegram to some voluntary moderators who add and removes the RP links and descriptions. So we can control the spam.
Also, we should really write a vademecum...or to actually give credit, to instruct people to read the post Euroslavia made. Or maybe, since is ginormous and people are too lazy here (let's be frank), a 10 simple rules on how to not kill your RP, or 10 rules on how to not be an annoying RPer. Something simple and easy that no one will have an excuse to not have read it.

The thing is, coming up with 10 simple rules is harder than you think.
Each RP is different, and other means may be used to keep it floating that would be wasted on others...
But, I can make a condensed version of Euroslavia's guide, because I assume none of you poor sods have the required attention span to read through it, amirite?

Hey, I did. Granted, I don't think I can recall much of it at least right off the bat, but I did read it.

If you aren’t prepared to[...] calculating resources and soforth, don’t bother signing up. You have to be capable of managing this RP, so know your own limits.

Sentinel XV wrote:Alright. Here's the RP I'm going to start up tomorrow.
Essentially, it will be in the vein of the Edge Chronicles, set on a world where the only known land is many miles into the air, with nothing below but the vast "Cloud Ocean". The tech level is a mix of steampunk, magitech, and Industrial Revolution-style industry. The main form of transportation is what as known as a Sky Ship, which can range in size from a small, 2-man trawler vessels to massive, half-mile-long strongholds called Sky Titans. The RP itself will be nation-based, with Victorian/Expansionist-era politics in a heavily industrialized world. You can be a well-respected diplomatic haven, a mercantile empire, or even a rogue nation of bloodthirsty Sky Pirates.
Thoughts? Interest?

Two things come to mind, which aren't necessarily related. Laputa and Dragon Hunters.
I'm not a nation-based RP fan, but I might be persuaded into something like this, especially if I get to base some my nation off Laputa.Sentinel XV wrote:Oh, also, before I forget:

That might be a good idea. Might. I'm up for anything right about now.

Never heard of Laputa, and I know what Dragon Hunters are technically, but I'm not sure if you're talking about some sort of anime or just the hunters in general. I would love to have you in the RP, though.
As for the Poster Awards, if we can get enough support for it, I'll make it today.

Well, I'm hesitant due to the cliques-thing I mentioned before. Because I can already name the winner (or the top three) of any category.
Laputa is an anime; Dragon Hunters is some cartoon series I watched several episodes of. And I forgot that weird animation series, Skyland.
All feature floating islands, although Laputa is just one floating castle.
