Pokémons are, well, Pokémechs. Trainers either pilot them or send them into battle like normal robots. They have the same abilities of the actual Pokémon they are based on, except that they take a more "weaponized" look, with rifles and cannons that do the same effects as attacks in the games.

That would be amazing!

The idea also reminds me of G-Gundam, a zany show that really wasn't serious as the other entries of the series, and of which the story consisted in a worlwide tournament between nation-sponsored Gundams that would gift the control of the Earth to the winner.

The Neo-Canadian Gundam was a lumberjack.
The Neo-American one was some sort of cowboy surfer dude .

A military story that involves war,camraderie, and political intrigue. A military story with realistic mecha (sorta) and focus on team work and tactics.

A military story that has still got people with animal ears and tails and latex flight suits, nonetheless
