It needs more than just modern equipments. Large standing army is not what the Germany has. Russia can invade Germany before they can invade Europe.

It will be different if biological attacks, since it can take the unprepared Europe easily.

Biological attacks don't work well either.

So, this is the first idea I pitch on TC after...months, maybe?

In the near future, VR tech has reached incredibly advanced levels. Forget those bulky-looking visors and the silly treadmills of our days: in the year 2026 Telexistence has been since achieved, thanks to the creation of machinery which permits humans to neurally interface with informatical systems and even explore them with their consciousness. Such a creation had limitless applications: scientific, medical, military...

Of course, the adult entertainment industry was the first to use this technology to its full potential. But other than VR porn, the newly developed tech generated a new way of conceiving home entertainment. In the space of a few years, VR revolutionized and monopolized a field that had been since waiting for the arrival of such a technology:

Gaming.

As of 2026, the Console Wars are still raging on. Sony and Microsoft duke it out to control the VR Console market, the latter being even more enlarged than before after acquiring a dying Apple in the late 10s. Nintendo still mantains a grip on the handheld market, thanks to their pioneering of Augmented Reality tech. The software market sees EA, bloated to absurd levels due to dropping their infamous business antics, battling out Activision and rising Bandai-Namco, which finally started importing software into regions other than Japan.

Thanks to an accord between the two main NGC (Neural Gaming Console) manufacturers, cross-platform multiplayer gaming is possible and easy to achieve. Due to this, a lot of VR games tend to either have multiplayer functionalities, or be straight-up MMOs, which actually make up most of the market. The most popular one?

Warcave International.

Developed and released in 2021 by Platonic Software, a band of disgruntled ex-employees of Sony Online, DICE and Treyarch fed up with the oversaturation of shoddy MMOs on the VR market, Warcave is, in all its apparent simplicity, the best MMOFPS on the face of the planet.

The structure is quite simple: Warcave is set in a wide and open-ended simulation of our own world, divided into various territories controlled by two different factions: the NATO-inspired Western Alliance, and the Shangai Co-Operation Treaty-styled Eastern Dominion. The two factions and their players fight each other in a year long campaign, trying to take control of territories and resources up until they win or are defeated, using modern military equipment.

But what's the catch of the game? Pretty simple: Warcave's players can't choose their teams. The game automatically assigns them to either the Alliance or the Dominion, depending on their geographical location in Real Life. Thus, the game becomes an awesome clash of players from different nations and cultures, with Americans and European players making up the bulk of the Alliance players, and Russian and Chinese ones as the backbones of the Dominion.

Of course, like every multiplayer game, Warcave has got player clans. This RP will focus on one of them, composed by Western Alliance players: FUBAR.

FUBAR is a mediocre clan, funded by Raz0r, an ex-member of the famous Killer Eleven clan, with the objective of mustering up a band of medium level players and making them beocme legends. Up to now, the results have been quite, quite mixed. The members of FUBAR are usually nicknamed "Fubs", "Fubbies" or, most commonly, "Fuckies".

It's 2026, and Warcave will celebrate its 5th Anniversary with a year-long campaign of epic dimensions, with about 10 million players playing. Unfortunately, Raz0r is hit with a bad boot of flu right before the campaign is about to start, and is forced to pass the leadership of FUBAR to his second-in-command, who isn't very skilled in that field.

And then, just as FUBAR gets prepared to fight in this campaign, something incredible happens. Something that turns the simple game into a matter of life or death, with no respawn, and puts the lives of millions of people at stake, along with the future of whole real life countries. FUBAR and its members will get caught in this catastrophic course of events, and try to survive them using all their skills, while trying to uncover information on what led to all of it.

This winter, on P2TM, the best and worst of FPS players will be put to show on the virtual battlefields of the first cyber-conflict ever.

After learning about a spate of Latin American revolutions in social studies today, I came up with an idea. While it is sorta a military RP, it also focuses on day-to-day survival in the last American town in the United States, Willow Brook, Colorado. Here it is:
2013-Colombia is rocked by a massive revolution which puts a man simply known as "El Padre" in charge of the nation. After rising to power, he quickly sets out to modernize Colombia and fix its problems. He also renames it the Empire of Gran Colombia. Most nations do not take heed to this as they are focused on the situation in Syria.

2017-Four year after Gran Colombia was refounded, a massive war broke out in which Gran Colombia prevailed with ease and took control of northern South America, as well as Brazil. It also annexed Panama after the war, denying the US access to and control of the Panama Canal. The UN condemns this act, but does not act as Russia and China veto a Security Council attempt to invade Gran Colombia.

2021-Mexico is the last independent state in Central America, now bordered to the south by Gran Colombia. Mexico itself is teetering on the brink of collapse after a recent coup attempt and is likely to be annexed by Colombia.

2022-Mexico has been totally annexed by Gran Colombia. Colombia is now a world power rivaling that of America, and is quickly surpassing the old power in many fields.

2023-After a Colombian spy was captured in New York City, the US's southern border has been heavily fortified. After a few weeks of high tensions, a Colombian computer virus infected the NYSE and crashed the stock market, collapsing America's economy. Anarchy ruled over the next few days until a nuclear device leveled Washington, and Gran Colombia invaded from every direction except north. The crippled and mostly leaderless US quickly collapsed, and Gran Colombia proceeded to firebomb every major city in the fallen country, leading to the deaths of hundreds of millions. The survivors were herded into labor camps and are being oppressed heavily.

2027-The present day. Gran Colombia still rules the United States, and most of the nation has been depopulated. The remains of the US military protect the last American town in the US, Willow Brook, Colorado. Gran Colombia has attempted to stamp them out before but was repulsed. Now, they are planning a new assault which seems likely to succeed.

You can choose to be either a US soldier, citizen of Willow Brook, or, maybe a Colombian soldier(evantually).

In my opinion it turned out as kinda a CoD: Ghosts ripoff which was not at all what I was going for(seeing as though I despise CoD). With that out of the way, please give your opinion on it. Criticism is welcomed seeing as though I still have to work more on it.

Hey everyone! I've been brewing an idea for quite a while, and I was hoping to get some feedback. The first problem I have is that I'm not sure which forum it would go into, so let me set up the premise.

The story is set in an unnamed country, referred icly as the state. The world exists after a massive war, of catastrophic proportions. It is never specified exactly which continent the country is on, but it's heavily implied to be somewhere in Europe. The state is extremely totalitarian, very orwellian, something straight out of 1984. However, it's administration isn't as functional as Oceania, and there's been a recent resistance movement.

Anyway, each RPer would play as a character in this society, whether they're a member of the secret police, or a poor oppressed citizen. Each character is extremely important to the central plot, and has the ability to affect the other characters in a rippling effect. Towards the end of the RP, some of the characters will become a part of a full fledged revolution, and depending on the way everything goes, may actually overthrow the government.

Overall, the feel of the RP will be dismal, with some small points of satirical humor. If you've ever seen the movie Brazil, you may know what I'm talking about. The RP will be almost allegorical, in some ways, but also be about the struggle people face in oppressive countries.

So what do you guys think? I'll of course flesh it out a bunch more, this is only a quick premise.

Aside from Excalibur and Mass Effect (and sorta EH, we cover all genres), I have never seen a military rp actually succeed and retain quality.

I again suggest to everyone to keep an rp idea in their head for a week before they write it down anywhere.

How did the Colombian nukes make it past the American defences? And what about international intervention? I can't imagine NATO would sit back and twiddle its thumbs as the U.S gets invaded.

Is this intended as a dark, realistic, serious rp or comedic?

Looks like both to me. I mean come on, Colombia? Brazil would be a far better choice.

Even that is incredibly unrealistic.

A much better rp would be playing mercs in Colombia, fighting in the war. Or a member of Brazil's police force, fighting terrorists and crooks.

Tiami is cool.
Nat: Night's always in some bizarre state somewhere between "intoxicated enough to kill a hair metal lead singer" and "annoying Mormon missionary sober".

Swith: It's because you're so awesome. God himself refreshes the screen before he types just to see if Nightkill has written anything while he was off somewhere else.

How did the Colombian nukes make it past the American defences? And what about international intervention? I can't imagine NATO would sit back and twiddle its thumbs as the U.S gets invaded.

Really though, if Gran Colombia took over South America it meant they would have invaded European Union territory, and as thus would be on the receiving end of the pimp-smack of the West.

The Brazilian police thing actually sounds interesting.

Considering how badass the Brazilian police are, yes. It does.
