Its the era of late Tokugaw Shogunate in Japan or simply Bakumatsu.Its era of big changes like new weapons: new rifles, gatling machine guns, new cannons and also new ideas.
Japan was open to foreign traders from the UK, France, US, Netherlands and others but they were many times attacked by the Japanese nationalists.These attacks have changed into full battles between some of the domains (mainly Choshu).But now we have 2 sides, each one supported by some great power Imperial forces supported by Great Britain and some other and forces of Shogunate supported by France and Netherlands.We have Emperor Meiji in Kyoto and Shogun Tokugawa Yoshinobu in Osaka.
