* Scientists at the University of Warsaw and the Polish of Academy of Science have teamed up to undertake major work in VTOL aircraft. After several months in the working, the final refinements have been completed. The Academy of Science is personally constructing the first model of the concept, and is expected to complete sometime in the late December months of the cold Polish winter. Phasing out jets will be another expensive investment, but the money saved from using the large amounts of oils from traditional airliners will benefit Poland in the long run. Another plus is saving space used for airports, instead of long runways, simple helipads would suffice, allow more conservative and petite airports to be used.


COMPLETED PROJECTS

Advanced VTOL Aircraft are an environmentally-friendlier counterpart to the jet aircraft, which expend copius amounts of fuel. Instead of compressing air and using fuel to to produce a spark and propulsion, it uses rotary propellers like a helicopter, with a conservative amount of biodiesel to assist in the push. But unlike a helicopter, there are two smaller rotary propellers which generally face downwards, but can adjust to move forwards and backwards. Common applications for smaller VTOL aircraft may include military applications, search and rescue missions as well as police use in the near future. Larger VTOL aircraft can be feasible to replace jet aircraft in most occasions, travelling far distances ferrying passengers with low risk of bird collision albeit at a generally slower speed. Improvements in the technology can allow them to be as quick as the average jet aircraft, and in the foreseeable future, this is a possibility.
