A statement by the Army and Air Force today indicated an intent to increase their respective vehicle stockpiles by as much as 30 to 40%, meaning new orders of tanks, APCs, Air Force Jets, etc.

The President then announced that this is not to be taken by the leaders of the world as a threatening or otherwise offensive act. The Fifth Republic acts only to defend its interests and people.

Regardless, as a nation whose economy has just fully recovered from the Stock Market Crash of 2008, many are wondering if this move may be a mistake. President Hollande had this to say..."

President Hollande carefully reviewed the offer from the Global Energy Alliance Impressed; he sent a reply letter to the GEA. Under his government, the Fifth Republic had ceased planning new nuclear power plants for security reasons, favoring a policy of diversification. He had instead used the money in research grants and tax benefits for renewable companies in other fields, allowing initiatives like Enhanced Geothermal and Ocean Energy to gain the financial and practical edge necessary for wide-scale implementation.
