1) My post: Chinese troops swarm across border headed for towns x and x.
2) USSR post: Soviet border guards attempt to defend the border, but are unable to match the Chinese forces and are overwhelmed.
3) Despite light casualties, the Chinese make their way to the towns and begin bombardment of enemy defensive positions.
4) Soviets troops in the cities fire back artillery, and news reaches Moscow of the invasion.
5) After a long bombardment, Chinese infantry begin assaulting the besieged cities.
6) After fierce fighting in the urban centers, the Soviet forces are defeated. Some troops retreat in good order along the rail lines, but many others are captured are killed. Troops are dispatched from Europe to help repel the invasion.
7) Chinese forces consolidate their positions, bringing up reinforcements from the rear to replace losses in the assaults and build defensive emplacements in their new possessions.
etc...
Believe me, it works on literally every other war RP. Y'all should try it. It does require you to be realistic about your troop deployments, troop abilities, and you have to take your own casualties, but between two mature RPers that shouldn't be an issue.
Thoughts?
Note that this style of RPing doesn't actually require either RPer to ever be on-line at the same time as the other RPer.

I was hoping to RP with this, but Bering and Dacjan were like 'Ottoman ships break blockade of all Georgian Ships. Poland moves fifty thousand troops into Caucasus, going in seventy miles past the heavily militarized border'.

I would, funnily enough, be on board with this proposition. I like our RPers here, but I feel like we need to be a bit more universally polite RPing wise, such as contesting ludicrous RPing claims and being realistic with our technological and economic capabilities.
