But first, let's get a few basic things straightened out- courtesy and self-control. I taught taekwondo and courtesy and self control were basic tenets. A basic tenet in a martial art.

Courtesy: Let's be really fucking polite to everyone. You have no right to not be courteous. You never have that right, no matter how much of a shitty day you had or how much of a sheer jackass the other person is being.

Which brings me to self-control: Is it difficult to keep yourself from making a comment on the type of genitalia another person resembles when you have an argument? Oh fuck yes. It's always difficult. But the more you can control that, the easier it is and eventually you're just used to it.

Courtesy and self-control. Let's keep those two in mind and future incidents won't happen.

You know, back in '06, when I started forumming, I had self control problems and frequently got banned for flaming. Even now, I still slip up from time to time, as evidenced by the single flame-related warning that I have on this forum. However, I am certainly much better now. So, it can be done.
