Elfen High 2: Skin to Bone, Steel to Rust

Postby Nightkill the Emperor » Thu Aug 23, 2012 5:15 pm

OOC

It was a cold cloudy and gloomy day in England. But what the hell do you honestly expect? It's England, it isn't allowed to have good weather. It's a bloody law, de facto if not de jure. But what can you do?

Crowley sat in his office, smoking on a pipe. Allan's favourite tobacco was in it, fleshly ground from Hell itself. It had an excellent taste "School year's starting now, even if a bit late." he remarked. It was October, nearly Halloween. But the year needed to start early- it had been two years, but changes had been made over the last year and the summers. The school was now a safer place to be. Relatively speaking, of course. Crowley was glad of it. He was still a prick, but he was now an efficient and effective one. And he knew he owed a lot of it to a lot of people, but two were big ones.

One was Minh. He had been doing well the last two years, working hard to keep order and sanity in the school. He wasn't doing too good at it- it was Elfen High- but he kept some existing. He had been running the self-defence classes, though Crowley knew that Jade would be joining them soon in teaching that one. Which was good. The students needed to know how to fight. Crowley had, through his bumbling stupidity, made Elfen High a battlefield. Now he had to make the kids soldiers. And Minh was doing that well.

Second was EVE. Crowley hadn't particularly trusted the robot, but she was useful. While she had a physical body, it was also connected to Elfen High's computer network, severely helping him with managing things. Basically, EVE was like EDI from Mass Effect.

And a lot of others. But now he had to greet the kids.

There was a dinner, as always. No killer rabbits this time. They were tame, thanks to Sari. Richard seemed uncomprehending of this fact, but Crowley considered it a good bonus. And the rabbits were surprisingly efficient at being pest control and even farmers. They had gardens growing underground. The magical energy of Elfen High made up for the lack of sunlight.

A lot of the food from those gardens was now on the dining tables. Dinner had begun. Crowley stood on a stage, Minh to one side of him. He looked around, seeing a lot of old students and new ones. A lot of the old ones had stayed over the summer- not like they had elsewhere to go-, same with the staff. A lot left for the summer and then came back. Crowley's eyes fell upon Daisuke. So that was Minh's boy? He seemed to avoiding his father's stare.

"Don't worry. He'll be fine." Crowley told Minh. No guarantee, but hopefully people respected Minh enough to leave his son be. They sure as hell wouldn't do that with any of Crowley's family, if he had one.

"Welcome, boys and girls and whatever other genders." he said. "This is Elfen High. I'm sure you know the name. Perhaps from the incident here two years ago. Don't worry- we've increased protection and such. That will never occur again."

"It's not a good time in the supernatural world. Michael left Heaven, Heavensgate broke off, Loki is in prison in Asgard and it's possible- though not confirmed, I stress- that the Fae are returning. But this is Elfen High. We will keep things well, and you better fucking believe it. We have the smartest and most powerful people here, from various countries and dimensions. This school will be a challenge and you need to be tough to deal with it. But unless you're a pussy, as an American I know would say, you'll get through it. Now fucking eat the food. You're Elfen Highers now."

It was a short speech. But a good enough one. Crowley was trying to control himself and be more responsible for a change- he owed it to Allan.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Daisuke was eating at a table alone, sitting in his wheelchair. He sensed his father looking at him, and ignored the man. He didn't show up all those years? Fuck him then. Daisuke didn't have to acknowledge him even for a second.

He listened vaguely to the Headmaster's speech before turning his attention to the food. It wasn't bad food. It was actually quite good, which was surprising considering it was English. But the world was full of surprises, wasn't it?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hello Ivy." Raphael said to the girl with a slight smile, but a sad one. He had grown some genuine affection for the girl, as had many of the angels here, even if they were bad at showing it. "I think you've spent enough time here. You've helped us tremendously here. But you can return to Elfen High here. With the current climate...it's best you go there and stay out of harm's way. And keep up tabs on the school for us. It's an important place."

Alex sat at the table, the platter before him devoid of any food or drink. A song played on the small little Nano piece of shit iPod he had bought, surprisingly depressing. Sort of like Alex himself. As he fingered the hilt of what he favored his 'needle-blade,' he looked around at the crowd. Some new arrivals, a few dead and gone, but most still here. The same people he had barely met from last year. He wondered if the Pierre kid he had liked a bit still lived; he wasn't in the mood to go scouting for him. He sighed, bored, angry and wanting to stab something multiple times and burn whatever was left. He held the urges back. Barely.

All of these kids seemed so damnably upbeat. "Stop being happy!" he called out, hitting the table. Unfortunately, it broke. "Shit," he said, flexing his arm. The hand hurt rather bad, likely broken; not like he would go to the nurse or anything. A couple more thoughts of transforming and ripping every one of these paltry, stupid thing's throats out; something told him not to. He wondered what.

He tapped his fingers to the excellent song now playing, strangely feeling jubilation fill him as he hung on every word. It brought back memories. So many memories. Of that night with what he now knew was a werewolf, of the day he woke up and rampaged through the small-town hospital. Replays raced back and forth, as he shoved his hands in his face. He was so detestable, a disgusting person-no, a creature. The broken table gave way to him, and he fell through. Skinning his elbow, it began bleeding; he took account of the injuries now. A broken hand and a bloody elbow. Great. Alex began moving to the door when he slipped on some faggot elf's potatoes, sending him careening to the ground. His brand new jacket, smeared with potatoes. "Fucking elves," he muttered to himself, standing up. This was a bad start.

Sari-chan sat at the teacher's table next to Rayne. Sure, she was still a student for one more year, but who was going to make her leave? Besides, keeping those two together dramatically increased the chances of hot lesbian action, and everyone always loves that.

Having gained some manners since she first arrived two years ago, Sari-chan didn't hop onto the banquet table and start eating like a maniac. Instead, she respectfully filled up several plates of food, returned to her seat, and then start eating like a maniac. Baby steps, you know? She was disappointed that she wasn't chosen to cook the banquet food, but Crowley had informed her that he already had someone working on it and that maybe she could do it next year.

Excited about her last year of school, Sari-chan gave Rayne a smile before continuing with her meal.

Likely alarming those nearby, one rather odd student at one of the tables started to shift into a terrifyingly large green anaconda, nearly thirty feet in length and quite thicker than your average python. The serpent then unhinged its jaw and enveloped a whole boar, deer, and another boar before it then stopped and slid off the large table and curled up its coils rather tightly before it then snapped into a dense blob-like creature that quickly consumed the food it had eaten. When it had absorbed all the matter it could, the thing burned away all waste with an acid before it then shifted into a Xenomorph from the ALIEN franchise, contently scurrying over into a corner of the room and curling up in a ball where it quickly drifted off to sleep.

Malal, upon observing this rather odd series of events, shuddered slightly upon the final form reminding him of the 'thing' he and Nyarla spawned. Turning to her, he bumped her elbow and motioned to the shapeshifter student.
"Think we could introduce the spawn to- whatever the hell gender that student is? I respect the spawn's right to life, but I doubt anything good will come of it. Getting rid of it might be wise for both of us. Did your nephew Cthulhu ever reply to your requests for audience?" Malal asked Nyarla while he dined on a rather delicious cut of venison, it was soured however by some fear of the retribution Nyarla's relatives might wreak upon them. Malal sensed a coming storm and he was most certainly scared.

Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P.

There was no real food eaten by Damien. He didn't like food, and never really cared to eat much of it. But health issues, and all that. So he did, but still left the majority of it untouched. He never quite liked having a full stomach, especially since he needed to be lighter to train. He wasn't as fast, but he was more durable and had more fighting skills than he did two years ago. And he wasn't even a teacher. At his full power, he could probably take Minh on for a good few minutes or so. Maybe even Crowley, but he knew that it would be a short fight. Besides, he had bigger fights, and not with other people.

"Come now, Damien, eat your food before it gets cold."

Damien ignored the male voice, his eyes looking down at his dress clothes.

"Son, you know I do not like forcing things upon you. But you must eat before I leave."

Always leaving. Damien closed his eyes, and tried to concentrate on the present. On what was real.

There was a sigh. "Good bye, son. I'm s- s- so- s- AHHHHHHHH!"

The man behind Damien's chair caught fire, and he ran back in a frenzy, smashing into a wall. His fingernails began to tear into the wall, ripping pieces away until there was a large hole. His skin was melting, his eyes receding back into his skull, and his screams drowning out everyone else in the room. His stomach popped, and guts flew onto the floor, blood covering the carpet.

"Kent...? Kent?! NO! NO GOD DAMN IT! Why!? WHY!?" screamed a female voice. A woman in a straight jacket ran into the room, and fell down beside the man, her eyes crying blood. "KENT! WHY!? NO!" she continued to scream. From the whole in the wall, two arms and hands, made of a coal black fog of shadow, reached in from the fire and grabbed the woman, pulling her into the flames. "NO! KENT! DAMIEN! STOP!"

And then Damien opened his eyes. There was no hole, no dead people in the room, no blood.

It was all a hallucination, he thought. Just another hallucination.

Jacquelyn nibbled on one of her baby carrots, and she looked to right, where Minh was seated. She stopped nibbling, and focused on him for a bit. After a few moments, she took a careful hop onto Minh's left shoulder, and she positioned herself so that her face was pointed where Minh's was.

"Come now, darling, I can see something is wrong. I haven't seen you tense for as long as I've been sitting on your shoulder," she whispered into his ear. "Would you like to discuss something?"

The sounds of a flute were carried away by the wind as a lone figure standing on a hill played, a soft, harmonic and beautiful melody that relaxed the body, calmed the mind and soothed the soul. However, as all things, it came to an end, as the figure that stood on the hill, a woman in a black cloak who wore a hat with a red feater, ceased to play the flute that she now held in her hand, which was now hanging down. She looked through emerald eyes at the structure that was across from her, the only structure visible in the horizon, studying it.

"So that is Elfen High." She said to herself as she looked at it.

"I hope I can find a solution to my problems there."

Ciel sat on one of the tables and looked at her food, then at Crowley as he began speaking to the students, among which was her. She briefly wondered what incident had happened two years ago. She was usually not well informed of the events that affected the world so she had no idea of what happened, but she simply shrugged off that thought, thinking that, while it might have been important, it was not too relevant anymore, and then listened to the rest. She was relatively new to the supernatural world, even though she was, in a way, supernatural herself, so she did not understand much of it. But she understood that staying here would be a challenge. No matter, she would manage.

When the speech was over, she looked around. There were a lot of rather odd-looking students around, but she didn't mind them. She supposed it was normal for an institution such as this one, so she gave a mental shrug. She then looked at the food in front of her. It looked tasty and she hadn't eated while on her way to Elfen High so she was rather hungry. Thus, she began to eat, although with manners befitting someone with good education, even though she didn't have it.

Either way, she stopped eating when someone else yelled and then smashed the table, breaking it. She was surprised by this, but knew that the person who did it had a problem. So when she saw him trip over some potatoes and fall to the ground, she walked over, ignoring the rather strange episode caused by another of the students as he started shapeshifting, and offered him a hand. After he took it she took out her flute and began playing a soothing melody to calm him down.

Pierre ran his fingers through his hair before he entered the lunch hall, straightened his white T-shirt and leather jacket, and slammed both doors to the lunch room open as he entered, and started walking to the front of the food line, shoving students aside.

"Move, kid. You haven't been on an airplane with no food for the last seven hours." he muttered, as he pushed a particularly unruly kid out of the way. The kid scowled at him, but Pierre adjusted his sunglasses, smirked, and moved on. Once he reached the front of the line, he took a large helping of chicken, and then headed to sit down at the "Staff" table.

He felt somewhat amused. Staff. Even he couldn't believe it, really. Even though he was more of a janitor than anything, he was back here, and sitting at the table with all the teachers. Supposedly, he was a "security guard", but, really, Nyarla provided a lot more security than he did. He was happy to be sitting with the staff, though. Although he didn't actually really like any of the teachers except Minh, Lewis, and possibly Crowley, it was still nice to be there. He reserved the seat next to him for Laz. The music teacher would have to go find another spot or something, but that was okay.

Hearing some loud crunching, he turned his head to look at whoever it was. That sound annoyed him. Laz ate like that, but for some reason, that didn't really bother him. He sighed when he saw who it was. It was the catgirl, and she was at the Staff table. Was she a teacher now? He thought she would have another year of school or something. He adjusted his leather jacket, and frowned at Sarina. She was a little bit annoying, and that noise was really bothering him. Not to mention the fact that her girlfriend (if he remembered correctly, the name was Rayne) was sitting nearby. They'd probably make out or something, which also annoyed him. It reminded him of the fact that he still hadn't actually ever dated anyone. The last time he had tried was two years ago, but she had rejected him and blasted him down a hallway. He couldn't even remember her name, though, so he probably hadn't liked her that much.

Pierre smiled, remembering the scene from two years ago. It was similar, but different.

It was good to be back.

Oh shit, Alex thought. Women always made him more amicable. Sometimes not in a good way."Thanks," he said, taking the hand. The tune she played was beautiful; it seemed to repress the 'bad thoughts' that always were racing around through his head. "You're excellent at that, you know," he said, smiling. It felt good to smile; it was a monthly thing, usually. "I never was good with instruments; I tried band in the eighth grade, and was so horrible I got kicked out." He chuckled a bit. "What's your name? I'm Alexandre, or Alex. Whichever you prefer." The small half-smile stayed plastered to his face.

Nyarlathotep sat with the other teachers, her legs crossed. The Outer God wore stiletto heels, one foot tapping against the floor as a way of passing the time. Her dark skin glistened with beads of sweat, albeit she had no actual idea why she was sweating. The Outer God wore a pressed and ironed white, collared dress shirt, the first three buttons undone to show ample cleavage. She was, after all, always looking to catch eyes. Her skit was appropriately short, ending halfway up her thigh. She wore a blazer over her shirt. The woman toyed with the pendants of the several necklaces she wore, almost absentmindedly. Once more, as she had many times in the past two years, drifted off into a bit of deep thinking. The spawn had been alive for a year and six months, and already it had grown twice her host's admittedly short height, its thin, humanoid frame little more than oily flesh, teeth, talons, and screeches. Currently, the wretched creature was chained in Nyarla's quarters, its mouth gagged to prevent it from spitting its corrosive acid. She and Malal had yet to name it.

The Crawling Chaos gingerly sipped a glass of wine, occasionally taking a small bite of the food in front of her. She had been thinking, as she found herself doing, of the situation with the ruling Outer Gods. She had been cut from all contact with Azathoth and Yog-Sothoth, and could only barely feel the ever present aura of Shub-Niggurath nestled in her bosom. She no longer could access R'lyeh, despite her best attempts to. She could not even find a way into Azathoth's Court. She was unsure of the reasons towards this blackout, but it worried her to no end. Trying to break herself free from this spell of depression, she continued her stoic outer appearance, hawk-like eyes drifting over the crowd of students and teachers alike. Feeling Malal nudge her, she turned her head to face him, gently biting her bottom lip. She listened to his concerns regarding the spawn, which she decided to give the incredibly creative and groundbreaking nickname 'Spawn', for the time being. They had had this conversation a dozen times, however, and she still did not have a particularly satisfying answer for him.

"That is not a good idea, the Spawn is extremely powerful, barely intelligent, animalistic, and violent. I would prefer to keep the demigod chained until we can do something about it." She said, referencing the fact that it was, in fact, more than half a god. She was unsure yet as to the full extent of its powers, but it seemed to have some form of telekinetic power, a speed that often made it break the sound barrier, a strength that only Malal could best, and a regenerative ability that made destroying it a pitiful attempt. Of course, it was also mindlessly violent and attacked Malal and Nyarla every time it was unrestrained. She was unable to tell what sex the Spawn was, as it lacked any noticeable genitalia or any other distinguishing characteristics. However, as much as she wished it would disappear, she couldn't bring herself to annihilate it. Perhaps emotional manipulation was one of its powers? She was unsure.

And then, suddenly, Lewis.

"CROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY!" came the booming shout from the other side of the cafeteria. Annoyed grumbles and protests filled the room as a path was quickly torn through the crowd, leaving in its wake confused students, some of whom curious as to who this strange figure was and others groaning in recognition. One or two whooped in excitement, likely those who had passed math class due solely to performances in Crowley's much dreaded gladiator matches. Others nodded in appreciation of this new arrival's participation in the attack on Hell, though some others jeered due to the new arrival's participation in the attack on Hell. Complicated Hell-Heaven politics and all that. Either way, those who did recognize this strange man had very strong reactions to his arrival, because this was the kind of man who evoked strong reactions and strong reactions alone.

This man was Lewis F. Jameson, who made it to the teacher's table much faster than he should have. He leaned against it, his hands shoved into poor Minh's bowl of potatoes. He smiled widely, his orange mustache bending to his lips. He was tall and built thin, though no one could truly call him skinny. His skin was pale and, for once, cloaked in a fine black suit with a silver tie. His long side-burns were gone, shaven, and his original sunglasses were replaced by a much tasteful pair of reading glasses. His hat was retained, as was his cane, though he didn't use it. As always, Banjie was slung around Lewis' shoulder, freshly-polished (you're not even supposed to polish banjos). Lewis' left hand quickly grabbed Crowley and Minh's hands, while his right was buried in his suit jacket, searching ferociously for something.

Lewis was not a scary man. Odd, but not scary. He could certainly kill most people, but he very rarely wanted to and even more rarely acted on such desires. He was an angry fellow on occasion, yes, and threatening when he was, but not scary. No, he was much too silly to be scary. There was really only one way for Lewis to be scary, and that way, given the collective shittiness of the world's luck, had been fulfilled over the past two years.

"Do you want to see a picture of my kid?!" Lewis thundered, ripping a picture of a red-headed little girl from his wallet, "Her name is Rosalind!"

The world, as even the most optimistic would have to admit now, was fucked.

From a work to a work I was led to a work."

I enjoy meta-humor and self-deprecation. Annoying, right?

Goodbye.

Rayne sat, glad nobody had mentioned that Sari-chan was sitting here. Then again, she doubted Crowley would be against the two of the sitting together. She got rid of all the cameras she had found in their room (they still shared, despite Rayne's promotion), but she always had the feeling they didn't quite get them all. She was probably being paranoid, but sometimes (read, in Elfen High) paranoia was a good trait to have.

Rayne wasn't eating much. Sari-chan certainly ate enough for the both of them. Just watching her girlfriend eat made Rayne feel a bit full. And despite her ability to shapeshift any fat off if she wanted, Rayne still unconsciously watched her figure. She was a bit vain like that. Either way, Rayne layed back in her seat, overlooking the tables of food and fools. She sighed, wrapping her arm around her girlfriend and resting her head on her shoulder. She had to teach these students now, and she shared her teaching with... a fucking rabbit.

That wasn't so much of an issue, it was a nice bunny, but students felt awkward sometimes. She sighed again, closing her eyes, and wishing the feast would end.

"This was when I wished I knew someone who could open up a black hole- whisk the thing away and make it a problem for someone else. Could even take pleasure in knowing that it likely would create its own empire to free us of guilt." Malal sighed, not imaging that this was the way he would ever become a parent.
"My aging ability didn't even work on it, and even on deities it does have some ability, although not permanent. But the spawn, it, just, nothing. The thing is as timeless as your family. That's what unnerves me. Just imagine if we did kill it and it ended up in Hell. It'd take over the entire realm in a matter of days. Wretched creature too- not a single sign of appreciation. If I didn't know better I'd believe it was an incarnation of Oblivion. The only use that creature might have is if the fae ever return. The spawn would single-handily destroy them all. And us." Malal noted as he took a long drink from a mug of mead and wiped the liquid that dripped from his chin away with his sleeve.
"Hopefully Crowley never finds out- then again- he might be able to deal with it. But no, no, he can't find out." Malal said with a worried tone- he didn't fear any mortal besides Crowley. He wouldn't be surprised if that 'lucky' sonofabitch was actually a being of pure will.

Wilhelm meanwhile stirred from his slumber in the corner of the room, 'yawning' in his current form and taking a long stretch of his forearms and legs before he then curled up once more in the corner and started to snore rather loudly. He however was jolted out of sleep again by a student that stepped on his tail, triggering a yalp that shot him up into a bipedal position. Angered, he spun around and smacked the kid with the back of his chitinous tail and laughed when he stumbled onto the ground. Now rather bored but incapable of sleeping, Wilhelm walked back to the table and didn't bother to shift into a human, preferring the Xenomorph form. Not only did he feel safe in it due to the chitin, he was stronger and faster, which increased his confidence. However he was still exhausted and once more curled up to sleep, this time on the table.

"Quod Vult, Valde Valt"

Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P.

Upon hearing Alexandre compliment her playing, Ciel would have smiled, but she was too busy playing to care. She could still hear everything he said, though, so after a few moments she finished playing the flute and then put it away carefully, as it was her only heirloom and her most precious item, since it was the only one she kept since she acquired it in her childhood. Not that she had much back then to begin with.

After she finished playing, Ciel bowed to Alexandre. "Thank you kindly for your compliments." She said. "I would prefer to call you Alexandre, if you don't mind. My name is Ciel and I am pleased to meet you." She said to him. "Do you feel better now?"

Alex smiled. Formality; it was his favorite. Or at least it was now; he didn't know if it had been before. "Yes. Thank you; I was having a bad day. Then I met you." Wow, that was stupid, he thought. Well, at least it was true. He fiddled with the hilt of his sword before saying, "Ciel is a pretty name; my mother's, as well." It most certainly was not. He shed his jacket; brand new, and already ruined. He'd get a suit next. He frowned at the once-beautiful work of tailoring; it was so smooth and comfortable. Now he'd have to spend yet more money on a suit. Goddamned elves, always dropping potatoes, he thought. He, for some reason, felt it necessary to voice this. "I don't like elves; they drop potatoes a lot."

AETEN II wrote:"This was when I wished I knew someone who could open up a black hole- whisk the thing away and make it a problem for someone else.

"The Outer Gods cannot truly ever die, not unless Azathoth wills it. And even if we did, we not go to Hell. The creature cannot kill us. Indeed, it can do little more than temporarily harm us. We are far stronger than it. I believe it knows this, and is angry." Explained Nyarlathotep, letting out a bored sigh as she examined her perfectly manicured nails. The Spawn itself was, at least partially, an Outer God. Because of that, it was likely under Azathoth's domain. So if it died, its essence would rejoin the Seething Nuclear Chaos in the centre of all existence, ceasing to exist until such a time in which Azathoth awoke. Of course, when Azathoth awoke, that was the end of everything. But that was a different story, one for a much different time and place. The Outer God took another sip of her wine and leaned back, displaying much of her ample breasts as she kicked her feet up upon the table, brushing aside the plate of food upon the ground.

"And as for Crowley, he likely already knows. But he will do nothing to our Spawn, that would be uncouth of him." She said, stifling a yawn. She hated these things, these giant feasts that allowed the students to get used to the school. She would much rather be trying to find a way to dispose of the wretched creature, or wrapped around a student or fellow staff member. Those were good times, good days. This was not. It was a boring time, a boring day.

When Ciel heard what Alexandre said, she smiled, but it was more out of satisfaction that he was feeling better after hearing her music, rather than his comment on her. She looked down and noticed that he was fiddling with the hilt of a sword, which, by logic, meant that he was a swordsman. Or tried to. She wasn't sure, but she didn't really find it a weird thing, some others around the place seemed to be carrying their own weapons as well. Not her, though. All she needed were her instruments, and even if she lost them, she would still have her voice. That didn't mean she didn't care for her instruments though.

Upon hearing that Ciel was the name of Alexandre's mother as well, she looked rather interested. "Thank you. I'm sure she thought the same about yours." She mentioned, watching him shed his ruined jacket. There was nothing she could do about that, though, so she wasn't going to try, or worry aboout it.

When the comment on elves and potatoes came, Ciel couldn't help but laugh for a moment. "I was not aware of that. Perhaps you should talk to them about it sometime." She said. But then, her stomach grumbled, and she was visibly embarassed. And hungry. So she looked at Alexandre once more. "I believe I should go back to the tables now. It was a pleasure to meet you." She said to him and then walked back to the tables, picking another seat since the one she was in was also from the table Alexandre had ruined, and then began eating once again.

Sari-chan stopped eating as she felt Rayne lean her head on Sari-chan's shoulder. This year was certainly going to be different for them. Sari-chan had gotten accustomed to being in the same class as Rayne for the past two years, but now that time was over. Rayne was a teacher, but she was still a student. They would be seeing a lot less of each other, and she wasn't sure if she liked that. Over the past two years, they had gotten much closer, and Sari-chan truly loved Rayne and wanted to spend as much time as possible with her. Sure, they did have times when they were apart as it would grow tiresome if they were together 24/7, but never this much time apart. It was troubling, but she was sure it would all work out for the best. Besides, next year, she would graduate, and then they could be together more often again, at least that's what she hoped. She was still extremely naïve.

Shaking her head, Sari-chan brushed away the bad thoughts, kissed Rayne on the head, and continued eating. She could think about all that later. This was a happy time: the start of a new school year. She should be enjoying it.

Alex said quietly, "Bye!" before his bad mood returned. Just like that. He sat next to the hole in the table, looking at it. "Hole, you're annoying and you should be nicer." Seeing some weird alien thing in the corner, he walked up to it. He was in the mood to be insane, so he said loudly, for all to hear, "What the fuck are you? You look like something from Japanese tentacle porn." Satisfied with his comment, he stepped back, hand on the hilt of his sword.

Jade smiled out at all the new students, only a minor twitch at the sides of her mouth, and picked up another grape from her plate, eating it slowly. No need for forks, it would just bounce off the grape and make her look like an idiot. Still, she wasn't about to complain about the banquet, she got a rather nice surprise when Nyarlathotep kicked up her legs next to her. She had gotten a bit closer with the now-counselor over the two years, especially after James disappeared.

She froze, though, when she finally comprehended the conversation going on between Malal and Nyarlathotep next to her. It was about some sort of 'spawn' that had been alive, and yet strong as any demigod. An offspring between them? Half Outer God and a quarter god of death... Insane... Its power must be just terrible. "Nyarla..." she murmured to the woman next to her, having shortened her address of the Outer God in the past year, "This thing... it's actually dangerous to everyone else though. Isn't it?"

Frida felt oddly out of place as she was surveying the huge room. Before she had arrived at Elfen High she had barely ever seen any sort of magical
creature except on TV or on posters. Yet here she was now, in a room filled with the strangest creatures imaginable. Demons, wizards and various strange
looking animals and animal looking creatures. This would take some getting used to.

The gnome that had escorted her to her room had been very kind though so she didn't think that she would have much problem adapting. On the whole she
felt allot less nervous now that she was all settled into her new home. Her roommate, who had introduced herself as Ciel Strider, seemed like a nice girl as
well, if a little detached. They hadn't had much time to talk but Frida was convinced that they would get along.

She had followed the older girl down to the dining hall as she seemed to know what was going on and now sat next to her looking about the crowded room
with awe. The headmasters, a Mr... was is Cowly?, speech was short and quite harsh she thought. Would she be able to make it? She was just an ordinary
human after all, well perhaps not that ordinary, but still just human. Besides, she was just sixteen and had lived quite a sheltered life until now.
'No!' She reprimanded herself sternly.
'I can do this for sure! I'll show him I'm no coward!' she felt cheery and strengthened in her resolve.
The headmaster sure seemed like an odd sort of fellow, scarred by the weights of his position, yet he somehow managed to inspire a sense of security in
Frida. She could hear a loud crash and a rough voice calling out to "Stop being happy" or something of that kind. Surprised she turned around but couldn't
quite locate where the voice had been coming from.
After that things just got weirder.
Trying to ignore all the strange things that were happening Frida started to chat cheerily with the person next to her.
"Hi! How are you doing?" she said with her thick Scandinavian accent.
"I'm Frida and I just arrived here, nice to meet you!"

"It's quite unlikely that a second spawn could ever result, the odds against it are quite high and I sense your boredom." Malal noted as he eyed Nyarla with his odd, vortex eyes, which were now spinning in opposite rotations at a fast speed.
"Besides, it'd help distract us from our fears of the oncoming storm. And of course be quite enjoyable." Malal stated as he put down his mug and shifted in his seat as to face Nyarla.

Meanwhile, Wilhelm was forced out of his nap once more by some idiotic student that thought he was part of the course, attempting to saw through his chitin skin with a dull knife, only succeeding in dulling the knife further. Will looked up from his curled position and hissed at the student, snapping at him with his jaws before he then uncurled and stood up at a full height of seven feet. He then pushed the student aside before he started to wander about the hall in boredom, his energy was pent up and his growing primal instincts were starting to take over his logical thought- urging him to hunt. Wilhelm shook these thoughts away however, knowing it would be unwise to satisfy this hunger and kill a student in plain sight. And unwise mood, his logical side of his brain stated as it suppressed his more violent thoughts.
However, he was snapped out of these thoughts by a rather rude comment by some human wielding a sword. Angered, Wilhelm screeched and smacked the human with a fist formed from his rather hard four fingered hand. It was hard enough to hurt, but light enough to not do any serious harm.
"WHAT? What? This is the form of a Xenomorph, the most wonderfully designed predator ever dreamed by humans- I take it because it is the most efficient thing I know of. And no, it is not some sort of creature from PORN." Wilhelm hissed with anger before he continued, attempting to suppress his anger so he wouldn't maim the being out of rage.
"Oh, but the tail can be used for some violent sodomy if that's how you'd like to die if you continue the insults." Wilhelm said as he whipped the bladed tail by the man's face before he pulled it back to its normal position behind him.
"I am a SHIFTER, one of the most useful and greatest powers to grace my former race. Now I am anything I wish. Like this for example." Wilhelm said as he turned into a small copy of the god Cthulhu, now standing at the same height of the man.
"Or this." Wilhelm said as he turned into a copy of the man before him, copying his clothes as well, although they were actually fused to his body as they were made from his matter.

William quietly ate the mashed potatoes on his plate, thinking to himself as he often did now. He noticed Lewis bursting into the room as usual, shouting about something. He had gotten used to Lewis, even gaining a decent respect for the man. Lewis seemed to have forgotten about the terrible first impression William had made that first day in math class after during one of his gladiator fights he triggered Sheila and pulverized what seemed to be a toxic feral snowman. While it was nice to have some respect from Lewis, it hadn't helped his reputation much. He sighed. Well, what would I expect? The other students here already thought I was a killing machine, and blasting a gaping hole in a monster, even if it was just a snowman certainly wouldn't possibly help. William thought to himself as he finished the last of his potatoes. This is all your bloody fault... he grumbled inside his head, thinking of Sheila. Of course, the enigmatic auto-defence program never responded to him at all. He had only heard her voice once, when she shut down after Thor captured Loki (William called Sheila a her since she did sound like a woman and Sheila was obviously a feminine name). William looked around the room with a bored expression, wondering what would happen this year. From Crowley's speech it sounded like things were beginning to get serious again. Just like two years ago.....

"Taxi, could you go faster, please?" The taxi driver sighed, obviously annoyed by the question. "For the third time, no I can't. There are these things called speed limits, y'know." Izanagi threw his head back into the seat and sighed himself.

"We are so late. We are so, so late." Kyoko laughed. "Since when do you care about.... well anything, Natsu?" Natsu raised an eyebrow. "What are you talking about? I'm just reminding Izanagi so he'll get more stressed out. It's funny that way."

"Kyoko, you think you could make it in 10 minutes? We' should be roughly 30 miles or so from the school." She made a strange sound, and replied, "Was that a poor attempt at an insult? Move over." With a flash, Izanagi was gone and in his place was Kyoko. "Driver!" The taxi driver yelled in surprise and almost lost control of the car. "Who are you!? Where did the guy go!?"

"No time for questions! This is a matter of life and death! Change the radio station!" The driver stared at her using the rear-view mirror, and reluctantly changed the ration station. Kyoko shook her head. "Next one!" The driver obliged, and Kyoko once again shook her head. Izanagi sighed and said, "Just pick one." Kyoko pouted. "Fine, this one is fine." She rolled down the window, grabbed the top edge and jumped feet first outside of the car. The driver yelled, "ERMAHGERD! WHAT THE FUCK!"

She rolled on the ground and began running, just barely dodging an oncoming car. She jumped over another and landed on the car behind it, jumping from car to car. She said, "Why are these cars going the wrong way!?" She suddenly realized she was going the wrong way, and stopped jumping on cars. She turned around, and jumped on the same cars as before, making the drivers of the cars even more furious. Profanities flew left and right, as well as an apple for some reason. Her tail caught it, and she took a bite. She then reached the red light and boobed and weaved through the cars coming from the left and right. Surprisingly she didn't cause a car crash.

Now, she was in the clear for the most part. She sprinted at full speed, easily going past the speed of sound. "So, what was the reason for the whole radio fiasco?" Izanagi asked. She shrugged. "I needed some entertainment for the trip. Care to assist?" Izanagi sighed and snapped his fingers. The song they had heard on the radio in the taxi began playing, seemingly from nowhere inside her head. Kyoko nodded. "That's much better."

The school came into view. It had only taken her 9 minutes to get to the school. And then, she tripped, causing her to roll and tumble forward at an amazing speed. Just before she reached the front door, she timed out and Izanagi said, "Yeah... I'm not taking her place. Natsu, you're up!" Natsu looked at him and said, "What!?" Kyoko disappeared, and Natsu took her place, crashing through the front entrance of the school.

Izanagi said calmly, "Okay, now stop." Natsu continued to fly through the school's hallway, then crashed through another wall at the end of the hallway. He continued crashing through wall after wall. "Okay... stop now." He went through another wall. "Okay—" Another wall. "Stop—" Another. "Now." And another. "Or not." Kyoko during the entire time was laughing her ass off. Finally, by sheer coincidence, he crashed through the wall of the auditorium/lunch room and slid on the floor about 1/6 of the way across the room. He muttered, "Fuck you."
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

Nyarla turned her head to look at her dear friend, Jade. She had grown rather fond of Jade, no longer viewing her as a piece of attractive meat, but viewing her as an attractive and dear friend. However, this did not mean that her attempts to woo the girl had dissipated. Indeed, far from it! Her attempts at getting the new teacher in her bed was an ongoing quest, one she swore she would soon complete, or die trying. Well, be horribly wounded trying, at least. However, she had spent the last year and a half bending over backwards (sometimes literally) to keep Jade from knowing about the Spawn. She audibly sighed knowing that she had just failed. If only I could learn to speak softly, maybe I wouldn't have this problem. The Outer God thought to herself. Nyarla smiled sweetly, her eyes becoming crescents, her perfectly white teeth glimmering in the light like chips of alabaster.

"I'm afraid so. It can't do much to us, its powers seems to be handicapped when in contact with its creators." She explained, keeping her voice low so only her and Malal could possible hear.

Malal noted as he eyed Nyarla with his odd, vortex eyes, which were now spinning in opposite rotations at a fast speed. "Besides, it'd help distract us from our fears of the oncoming storm. And of course be quite enjoyable." Malal stated as he put down his mug and shifted in his seat as to face Nyarla.

Nyarla turned her head to face Malal, her grin still plastered across her flawless face. "Malal, are you asking me for a good snog?" She asked, her voice playful and sickly sweet, a tone of faux innocence pervading it. She quite clearly knew he was asking her if she wanted to to get a room with him. And indeed, that sounded like the kind of stress relief she needed at the moment, to be wrapped around someone. But, she thought, breathing in Jade's wonderful scent deeply, I'd rather get one with Jade, or at least with both of them. Now that would certainly be something. A pleasant something.
