Why couldn't some people just let things be? Why couldn't they shut their mouths and let the others in charge speak? She couldn't understand it at all. What possessed people to fan the flames instead of taking everything with a grain of salt? She just wanted this to be over with in as little time as possible. She wanted to start doing work so she didn't feel like such a freeloader.

Chris looked at Ashley, then looked away. He ackwoledged her for a bit, but didnt see the need to after that brief second. Her opinion was just stupid, being the sheep again. Not askng question and going with the statis quo. He scoffed at her.

"Scoff all you want, but the sooner we get out the better. So sit down, shut up, and get your questions answered in private so that the rest of us may get on with out lives." Ashely replied to Chris' scoff. She wasn't about to let some asshole walk all over her like he was the King of France or some shit so he'd better think twice about who he was talking to. She would rip him a new one if he tried anything on her.

"Im so sorry, if it was that kind of deal then I can see why that choice was made. It must have been a burder on you and I do apologize for dragging it out of you, but you did tell me something I needed to know. I thank you for that." he said calmly to her.

He turned to Scott.

"what skills did Yoni have? What kind of person was he?" he asked him, since Scott was the leader of the group.

Thomas got the feeling that Chris was calling Alex a murderer. He wasn't there, he could not judge the situation. He stood up and interrupted.

"He was a elite soldier from the IDF. He was a strong and skilled warrior. He was put out of his misery, who did it is irrelevant. Why do you want to know? What does that help? He was crucified and was to be killed, no matter what we did. So we decided to shoot him, instead of sacrificing one that was still ok, just to gut him for the key afterwards. We did the right thing. I dont like saying killing is ever the right thing, but when we stood there with limited options, that was the right one." He said, calm and controlled. It was hard to talk about it, but he had to.

"Did you now?" said Joseph, arms crossed and cigarette between his lips as leaned back in his chair, "well I think you're all spinless bastards. You coulda saved that man, like it or not, and you left him to die. Don't try 'n' sugar-coat the truth, boy."

"Atleast he would have know that people cared about him and didnt give up on him. Plus I can think of a viable option to save him." he said directly glaring at Alex.

Did it ever occur to you to ask him what he wanted, to think for a moment.. that perhaps a life of pain is better than death to a man who loves life? Of course not."

He looked at Joseph. "Maybe? We would end up killing him anyways. It would just cost one more life. Yes, maybe we should have asked what he wanted. But i doubt anyone would sacrifice them self for him, and i dont know if we would have the resources to keep him alive. Who knows? All i know is that we could not have saved him!"

"So you killed him," Joseph said with a chuckle, "you're no better than the people who tortured him, you know? You had the opportunity, no matter how slim the chance may have seemed, to save that man's life. And yet you threw it away."

"I never said that i killed him" Thomas thought to himself. "No matter how slim it was? Well, what i know is that we would, listen now, SACRIFICE ONE PERSON, like in that person dies, to get him down from the crucifix, where he was SERIOUSLY WOUNDED, and we would have to gut him, like cut open his stomach, to retrieve a key, then carry him back to this shithole. I don't call that a slim chance of hope, i call it impossible." he said, while looking directly at Joseph.

[Dilange]

Chris nodded and turned to Thomas.

"If he was a Spec Op, he's probably been tortured before.....or do have no concept of war. He's probably been in situations like that before and been saved......but in this instance you abandoned him, even worse one of the people in this room pulled the trigger, killing not his physical body, but his hope. And thats something humanity has, hope. Taking that away means you are scum. And scum belongs outside with the Watchers, bandits, and the Walkers."

Raising an eyebrow, Joseph simply shook his head.

"No need to yell at me, son," he said with a shrug, "I'm not the murderer here. You had a chance, and you gave it away."

[Khelshar]

" Having survived torture does not make your body strong enough. GUTTING HIM! Like in cut his stomach open and retrieve a key, after intense torture. That is not something you survive! And then being dragged here, a few kilometers, with an open stomach, and probably bleed to death before we get here, and costing a perfectly healthy person his/her life? " Thomas started to panic a little. He got the blame for what they thought to be a murder. He did not want to be a murderer, he had problems with that from before, but he did not want to tell on Monroe.

"Excuses," spat Joseph, "all you have are excuses. You killed the man, in cold blood, because you couldn't bring yourself to save him and face the situation. Tell me how that makes you any better than the Watchers. Tell me how your hands are clean."

"Well, it did not happen because we wanted to mess around with other people. To be evil. We did it to spare a man suffering and a life, and of course resources. And it was not in cold blood, as we killed him not just to kill him, but to save him the pain. But would you sacrifice yourself to save a person we would be forced to kill anyways? Do you think anyone would do that?"

"Loss of life is not necessary," said Joseph with an odd smile, "that is something I am adamant towards. You could have found a way, that is for sure. These Watchers are not perfect, no man is perfect, and they are surely men just like you and I. But instead of searching for the answers to the hard questions, you take the easy way out. You are weak, and a man died because of your weakness."

[Khelshar]

"They are smart. They do not let holes exist. Anything we could have figured out, they already had. What could we do, more then doing what we were told? We were just out of a maze of pure horror. We were not thinking clearly. But what is your point? That we screwed up? Let's say we did. What now?"

[Sentinel XV]

"How can you be so sure? Is it because you don't want to face the possibility that you're wrong? That you messed up? Face it, son, you -- directly or indirectly -- had a hand in a man's death. His blood stains your palms, and yet you tell me that you were in the right. What now, though? Now, you get to live with your mistakes, and you get to live knowing that your actions ended another man's life. How does that make you feel?"

[Khelshar]

"I dont regret that Yoni died that way. I regret that he died, of course, but he could have died so much more cruel, with me gutting him for a key. I have ended people's lives before, and that devastated me. I am not a monster, i just think that the decision that was made was the best." He said, while looking down. He started to feel guilty. He did not know why, as he neither killed Yoni, or that it was a murder, but more mercy killing. But this guy really got into him.

Again, Joseph chuckled, leaning back in his seat.

"Go ahead," he said with a touch of sarcasm in his voice, "believe what you will. Tell yourself that you did it the humane way, that you showed him mercy. But I know people like you.. you try as hard as you can to bury the monster inside, yet it always shows through in the end. You're no better than the Watchers, and you know it too."

Taking a long drag on his cigarette, Joseph shook his head, seeming to be done speaking.

[Cylarn]

"Yoni was ex-Israeli Defense Force Special Forces," Scott said. "I should mention that once this meetin' is concluded, we will be doin' a sweep of the prison. If they got Yoni while he was INSIDE the prison, we need to find out how they got in. For the meantime, we must assume that he was outside the perimeter."

Monroe was silent at Joseph's words. He felt guilty, but he had to rationalize it to himself.

He sat down, and looked at Joseph.

"You think you know me. You think you are so deep, saying that i hide a monster, that i am a cold blooded murderer. You think that by that one event, that have defined who i am. I am not a murderer. I once killed in self defense, and i never gotten over it. I am not murderer. And you don't know me well enough to say i am." He said with an angry tone to Joseph.

He looked at Scott, and back at the floor. He felt that Joseph hit him, even though Thomas was innocent. And he hoped that he was outside when he got caught. Or else sleeping would be dangerous.

Taking a brief pause from inhaling the harsh tobacco smoke, Joseph exhaled fumes in a ring shape and flashed Thomas a half smile.

"You'll find that I know you better than you would think," he said, "but don't worry, son, people stopped checking for monsters under our beds when we realized they were inside us."
