Yeah, I kinda like the idea too. I'm fine with having a Royalist duke lead his group of loyal Royalists to Canada, renaming it Nova Britannia and establishing an absolute Monarchy, doing away with the previous colonial government. So the escaping royalists won't populate all of Nova Britannia, they'll be more of a ruling class.

So basically, I'm already at a state of barely controlled war with three nations, a tense peace with a fourth, and a wary alliance with a fifth. That doesn't sound good. ;_;

If I played as the Low Countries, then I would definitely ally with you. The Scandinavians would prove a stalwart ally. However, I think I am going to end up playing as the U.S.S.A, and Communists and Monarchists don't tend to mix well

Well, I personally intend for the current ruling dynasty to be the Stuarts, with the Hapsburgs never rising to power, and instead, the Stuarts rise due to a convenient marriage.

Of course, Scotland was lost to Scandinavia and the Stuarts become the rulers of Austria.

If this is fine with Scandinavia, of course.

As long as this happens outside of the English Civil Wars, it's fine.

I'm conflicted. On one hand, I don't like the way nations are pre-disposed now, but on the other hand, I'm barely restraining glee at the thought of so many nations falling into place like jigsaw pieces. I mean, the Anglo-Scanian Union can change a ton of things. Has changed a ton of things, providing a convenient way for other nations to exist and alter themselves.

In your history, did you take the same approach towards Africa, and participate in slave trade?

Í was looking back, and I think, all of guys have convinced me, that I should play as the Italian Papal Union. It would be interesting, going to have to brush up on my Italian History though, but I'll live.

It would have been even better if you'd ended up having all the papal states in France as well like the places around Avignon.

Also, I think I have the most interesting monarch.

I'd have to ask Gar if I could do that, so Gar can I? It would be FUN I would write up a history on how I got it if that's okay.

Sort of. We did the same colonization attempts as England, but because of our semi-isolationist nature, we weren't nearly as interested or dedicated. So we never did the whole imperialism thing. The slave trade is restricted in the ASU---you can't buy or sell them, but you can still own them and their descendants. Strict rules on how they're treated and all, of course.

Late Victorian era/pre-WWI era, and everything's primed for an eventual world war. Sounds good. 1910 it is.

I'm still advocating 1870. Mostly because in the real-world timeline, that was the start of the Age of High Imperialism...coincidentally my favorite period in history.
It seems like an RP with that technology base and sociopolitical conditions would be more interesting than a 1915 or so RP.

Of course, the whole point of an AWRP is to alter said bases and conditions for fun and profit, and I could certainly use a starting time further from my main point of deviation.
But then again, I could always select a different one. Who here has the oldest Franco-American style democratic revolution?

I'm not sure about anyone else, but even if I shared a land border with you, I would not fuck with Afghanistan. It's a shitty idea. Imperial Russia, Britain, the USSR, and the USA have all failed to beat Afghanistan proper; and if it was at the helm of a mighty empire led by Vlad...
