I'm going to be eating through practically all of the export market.
And I noticed in the apps that about a third of all countries are listing grain as a major import, which of course implies a domestic deficit.

To be fair they can still be able ro produce enough food for thenselves, or more. A nation may produce very abundant amounts of rice or wheat to feed itself but import grains it doent domestically profuce like corn.

I may be mistaken but, I don't believe Afghanistan's hilly sandy terrain is good for growing grain. But again, im not an expert on such things so * shrug. *

All the areas of Afghanistan currently used to produce opium could instead by used to produce grain, and as I control a good portion of northern India, could further grow it there.

Hmm. Turns out I didn't read the apps all that well. I just looked for "Grain", and a lot of people used synonyms like "agricultural products" or "foodstuffs" :meh:

Just ignore me.

They may be hilly but I do not think they rxactly are sandy or desert areas.

Also is soil requirements for opium and grains close enough that an area can be used to produce either?

Last is the parts of India you have fertile and big enough?

Most of northern China comprises the Gobi desert.

Effectively, yes. Real life occupation forces in Afghanistan have been trying to get opium farmers to switch to grains and other foodstuffs since 2003, and the Taliban government attempted to do so their entire reign, with marginal success.

Last is the parts of India you have fertile and big enough?

I effectively control Tajikistan, most of Kyrgyzstan, southern Uzbekistan, a small portion of Kazakhstan, and the lands that comprise northern India and present day Pakistan.

So yes.

We export grain, it's just not in our top three.

Anyway, can someone post the latest map?

Chemaki - 152 million? Now I may be making a mistake, but that seems a little high.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_co ... on_in_1900

I realise your country might have a slightly higher population, or even by a few tens of millions, but this is huge...

Seems sensible. Mine was more of a conservative estimate. 152 million is pretty crazy. That was around the population of Russia at the time.

Wow. It seems like there's a major discrepancy between this and the site suggested earlier, according to it Russia's 1910 population was about eighty five million or so.

By the way, guys, when you're laying colonial claims, don't forget about coaling stations. Older coal fueled ships needed to load more every few weeks, and a ship sailing from England to India wouldn't be able to make it past Cape Town without recoaling. Not that you need to claim the whole territory patch to represent this, but perhaps some large dots.

By the way, is there a Suez Canal?
